Thanks for the feedback. Of all the people doing these little bit longer term reviews, it seems like there's nothing major going wrong with them. Good to know. They only started coming out in the US this week, so I might look at buying a used one next year. I still want to see how they shape up, and if someone comes out with an electronic cruise control for it.
Great update as always mate, I'm hopefully getting a 450mt in April. Currently ride a africa twin 1100. Try the bar bag the other way round they sit and fit alot better. All the best mate 👍🏻
Yabba Dabba Doo!!!! Fully synthetic oil is the best Outie555, I've been using it over 20yrs, in my bikes and cars, fantastic properties, holds viscosity much longer, handles variable heats from real hot to real cold and far exceeds mineral oil. You should actually notice her engine will be even smoother. Glad ur living the Great Aussie Dream mate.
One annoying thing - if you get it serviced before the scheduled mileage (5k, 10k etc.), as soon as it gets to that mileage it shows a "Maintenance Due" warning. It seems the service intervals are hard-coded, and not 5,000k's from when the service was done. Mine has been showing that warning for almost 4,000 k's now. Next service (10,000k) I'll make sure it goes over the scheduled service K's before taking it in. The warning isn't intrusive - just on start-up, very occasionally when riding, and it shows when going down through the Information menu.
Yes it's good, and can be switched on/off in a menu or on/off with the rear ABS via the easy to use dedicated switch. I don't find it too intrusive when on so it's good in my opinion.
Of course you don't have snatchy throttle.. Australia is one of the few countries that received the update that fixes it.. I'm still waiting for it here in Argentina
Pricey, but in reality you don't have to change it anywhere near what the warranty says, but during warranty u have to get the oil changes but I guess it's about keeping the engine as clean as possible, for me. There is a semi synthetic cheaper. It's like a blood transfusion, from semi ok to real healthy super power. 💯🤣🇦🇺
A bit of bufetting with the large screen but not as much as the stock smaller screen for me (6ft tall). In the end I took off my peak visor from the helmet and it's bearable, and I ride with class 5 3M disposable earplugs (3m classic). It will probably drink about 4.3L of fuel per 100km at 110km. At 80km it's about 3.1L per 100km. Handles fine at 110 and has enough power to overtake. I would say top speed is 140km and it's hitting the redline in 6th gear. I have the stock tyres but many people have reported better road performance with slightly larger rear tyre or using a 15T sprocket at the front instead of 14T front sprocket. Overall the bike will do it ok, but its true strengths are in it's off-road performance.
@@outie555what an awesome response. Thank you. I’m 5’7”, and buffeting is a real concern for me. Currently on a Versys X-300, which is shocking for it. Need a bit more grunt and less revvyness, and hoping to reduce/eliminate buffeting. I’m mostly on the road, but frequently on gravel, and want the option to start tackling some more technical off-road stuff. On an RE license, my options are limited.
'It's a great bike, they do phenomenal things' I see what you did there :D
God to see you're looking after the bike mate, plenty more adventures ahead! ride safe buddy :)
5000 already?! Well done, you're obviously loving it. We'll have to go for another ride soon.
Great to hear it’s been trouble free. Like any bike if you look after it, it won’t let you down!

Glad you made another video outie! Happy new year!

I've read in a Facebook group that people can reset the service due by pressing and holding a couple of buttons. Have you looked into that at all?
@@outie555 I haven't. It's not at all intrusive, so I just ignore it if I happen to notice the warning - I know it's been serviced.
My dealer has put 10,000klm service intervals on mine
The dealership in our country says to come back for servicing at 1,500 km odo or in 1 month time (whichever comes first)
Gee wizz..go to another dealer..that's not right at all..
Hey mate, cool video! Quick question, what is your opinion about the traction control, do you find it useful?
Yes it's good, and can be switched on/off in a menu or on/off with the rear ABS via the easy to use dedicated switch. I don't find it too intrusive when on so it's good in my opinion.

Some people report it fixed it in Australia, but for me the update made no difference.
Good stuff Outie🤙
Does the owners manual suggest a full synthetic equivalent?
Pricey oil to only dump after 5000 kms.

Actually you dont need the app to update the sw, can do it from the bike itself over wifi
Any comments on highway manners? I tend to travel on 110kph roads. Good enough for up to 400km stints? Any buffeting at speed?

Isn't the interval 5k? Or didn't you do the 1k oil change?
Yes, 5k interval. I don't count the first 1k oil change as part of it, as it's to get rid of metal bits from wearing in.
@outie555 fair enough, nice bike though! I enjoy mine as well, only 3k on the clock though ✌️
Temu Tenere 😂 Some people are having a hard time with the fact that red flag guys have upped the game. 👍
You need to ride more lol, I’ve done 11,500 I get out most weekends 👍🏻
$300 for service, thats expensive
What was inside the Service? Only oil change?
Oh i heard checking everything and oil. Same joke like every where. My Bike will never seen a official Service 😂
thanks your video convince me not to buy that moto
