As far as spin offs are concerned, I think we're more likely to get a prequel set before the original karate kid and which shows Kreese and Silver starting Cobra Kai.
Given they already have the actors in place to play the younger versions of the afore mentioned characters and what with the alarming lack of flashback scenes in season 4 which involved both Kreese and Silver, I think it's pretty clear now that this is where they'll go when it comes to spin offs

All good points. Although I've never rooted for Kreese or Silver, I'd sure give such a show a chance.

@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff I think it could be interesting but at the same time, a series centered around Miyagi's father would definitely be something I'd watch.

I would prefer a show about mr miyagi I would watch it but I would also like to see John and Terry’s journey through Vietnam or them trying to open cobra Kai

If it was a show about young Miyagi, what age would you want to see him be when the series starts? And how many seasons would you hope the show lasts?
I think seeing a show about young Kreese and Silver first opening the Cobra Kai dojo (long before Johnny, Bobby, Dutch Tommy or Jimmy joined) sounds like it has a lot of potential than a whole show focused on them in Vietnam. But maybe that's just me.

I personally think in season 4 they’ll split up Daniel and Johnny, and they’ll each lead a show

Jack, you may be right, but I hope you're wrong. I really like the idea of Daniel and Johnny teaming up. I think it's a good fit after the way the first movie ended and the second movie began... But we'll see what these writers do.

Instead of a TV series, I’d rather it be a movie that explores his life before and during wartime. He was a part of the 442nd infantry regiment, who’re sent to the most dangerous areas of World War II in the Pacific. A lot of people came home with inner demons and spiritual trouble that no medication can ever cure. On the spiritual side of things I think there is a lot worth exploring there that’ll keep people emotionally invested.

I've got an idea for a spinoff that could be a hit I bet but it wouldn't really be focused on Karate.
I would do a show called "La Russo Auto". It would be more of an adult, R rated comedy following the events of Cobra Kai. Daniel and Amanda become empty nesters as Sam and then Anthony go away to college. Daniel was so caught up in karate the last few years that he kind of needs to get back to focusing on his business. It would be mostly set at the car dealership and have bigger roles for Anoush and Cousin Louie in comedic roles. Now, instead of having karate rivals Daniel is basically dealing with his business rivals like Tom Cole which would probably be pretty funny.
It could have some karate moments and references too. The La Russo kids could make guest appearances as well as Johnny and many of the characters from Cobra Kai here and there.
Call me crazy but this could work. Lol.

hi Derek, your idea is definitely creative. I'll be honest: It does not sound like something I personally would want to watch. But maybe some other fans would enjoy it. If any other fans want to comment here, I'll be really curious to read what you all have to say.

"and I do think you'd want it to be a show about a teenager"
I realize this I omitted the comparative "as opposed to a 5 year old" bit, but overall...no. I'm a little tired of shows about teenagers. I want to watch more shows about adults beating the shit out of each other. One of the appeals of Cobra Kai is that it features ass kicking among a range of age cohorts, so it doesn't give you that feelings of "ugh...I'm old..." that a lot of otherwise good shows can elicit without meaning to.

That would make an interesting story - a good book, comic book, or animation. But it'd be hard to do in live-action with a budget that can't afford deaging CGI for every episode. I think it could only work if you want to show set a year or two before seeing him in Season 3 of Cobra Kai... Which I'd watch! I think he's a great actor.

Great stuff Joe I personally think that a spin off show for Cobra Kai could be focused on Johnny starting out at cobra Kai and learning from John Kreese, also what are your thoughts on season two of Stargirl

    • @Joelikesmoviesnstuff
      @Joelikesmoviesnstuff  2 роки тому +2

Thanks, Michael. Your idea is interesting, too! I presume you'd want to see actor Owen D. Stone play young Johnny Lawrence, and Barrett Carnahan play young Kreese? I'd sure watch that. The only issue I see there is that there would be a limit to how many seasons such a show could run before Owen D. Stone starts looking older than Johnny did in the first Karate Kid movie... Maybe this idea might work better as miniseries? That's just my thinking... As for my thoughts on the Season 2 finale of Stargirl, I'll e-mail you.

@@michaellucejr.6374 Yeah, your 'ten episodes' idea makes sense to me. The equivalent of one full season of Cobra Kai, with no possibility for a second season. I think that'd be a good plan.
