I hear all you guys saying that he sounds exactly like Kurt. I used to listen to Nirvana ALOT as a teenager ... and still do. I am also a die hard Seether fan. Seether (Shaun Morgan) has his own sound ... which is obvious to folks who have listened to both bands for a number of years. Shaun takes Nirvana songs and makes them his own. Two of my favorite bands. The vocalists of both bands are EPIC. Sounded perfect to me as far as the tempo goes ... he did it HIS way.
Do you still feel this way ? I’ve always listened to them so it’s a little hard to hear the resemblance but if I seperate myself from that it really is insane how close they sound
I don't think there's anyone else who was born with the gift! You're God's true creation! Thank You. a legend might have passed away, but another is still alive among us! that's you!
As a depressed vet with ptsd I hope they play this in Austin Wednesday night at the concert and then follow up with I refuse. I’d die a happy discarded soldier just to have that happen. God bless our troops
This was when Shaun was at his best. He still had that raw heavy rock angst that he seems to have outgrown. To each his own. He's still going and growing and that's all I wish for in my top favorite bands. Rock on Seether!
I love Nirvana and I love Seether! Shaun does the best Nirvana covers I've ever heard without being a ripoff (imo). I really do kinda wish that Dave, Krist and Pat would give this dude a chance. Of course no one can replace Kurt, but it'd be cool to see this guy do at least a one-off Nirvana/Kurt tribute show
there is a reason Dave, Krist and Pat used an all female lineup to front Nirvana in their RnR Hall Of Fame performance other than them making a feminist gesture they chose not to use people like this guy from Seether because they are not interested in trying to sound exactly the same as they did with Kurt. If they got Shaun from Seether the whole performance would look like some sort of Nirvana tribute act with a Kurt Cobain soundalike.
Dennis Severance ok but still it would've been a way better performance than what we got. There's tones of artist who have similar voices to legends: Godsmack lead singer has a similar voice to layne and James of AIC and Metallica and I've seen him preform with those dudes it actually works.
I love how Seether (through Shaun's singing mostly) is so influenced by Nirvana (this is especially obvious in One Cold Night) yet manages to maintain their own sound at the same time! I love this band! And Nirvana, mind you ^^
His voice is so versatile, it seems like he can cover anything. I prefer covers where they add their own style to the song rather than them trying to sound just like the person though. Still a good cover none-the-less.
Shaun Morgan is so amazing yeah he sounds just like Kurt Cobain bit his own song's OMG and his other cover songs he nails it 😁 he is truly perfection 💓💜🤘
nice job - just stumbled on this band and like it like it like it yes i do - very grunge and hypnotic rock - not many good new band but thumbs up for you
Rockin' as usual! I own a version of this, released on the Australian version of the "Broken" Single with amy lee & also from the 99X Sessions, which also contains Fine Again, Driven Under, Fade Away, Broken & Gasoline. On that one, one of them says: "You want to play the fish song?" "Yes! Let's play the fish song!" & that's how they introduce "Something In The Way"! Lol.
I love Seether & Nirvana, this man is amazing. He sounds so similar to Kurt. Many people just see Kurt as the heroin addict who killed himself, but he was actually very talented as well as intelligent. I'm sure many bands including Seether look up to not only Kurt Cobain, but Nirvana as a whole.
chaos8585 Seether are not as important as Nirvana were. This guy can do a Kurt imitation but nothing more, no song Seether have written has really had much impact on the music scene. So I wouldn't say Kurt lives through this guy I think Kurt Cobain and Nirvana live on through bands and artists that don't necessarily sound like Nirvana but are doing their own thing in a sort of ugly distorted punk rock fuck you way.
chaos8585 It's funny how so many people resort to that. If they have a different opinion, than people like you say they don't know much about it. Maybe you're the one that doesn't know.
Shaun and another guy by the name of Gary played a few Nirvana covers when we were in high school at Maritzburg College and all of us in that classroom that day were blown away!
@piemakesmelol whether you know it or not every band is inspired by someone else and their music can be traced back to sound similar. and only someone who doesnt like that band would care about it. and they do have a actual remake its called CARELESS WHISPER and it doesnt sound anything like the original. every band does covers and no one has a problem with it becauswe thats what they are covers. they are suppose to be so that people remember the music that inspired to to write.
@piemakesmelol and not all of their songs ha "uninspiring lyrics" if ou listen to seether in the least you would know that half of their songs are emotional and inspiring. and not every song has to belike that, ESPECIALLY not grunge or alternative whateve you want to call it, because its not always the words, its just something people want to listen to to rock out not to cry about or to change their life completely
I don't know why you say these things like "he sounds nothing like kurt." OF COURSE it sounds. and I would be proud if someone say I sing like kurt cobain! Oo I'm not saying that he always sings the same as kurt. but the covers of nirvana songs are very similar. Shaun Morgan you rock!
@piemakesmelol whether you want to believe it or not EVERY band has another band that inspires them and their music can be traced back to sound like them, by any person who doesnt like the band. if you liked seether you wouldnt even care about them doing covers bause thats what they are COVERS. they do have an actual remake of a song CARELESS WHISPER and it sounds nothing like the original. they never put one of their covers on an album they just do it for fun and for the fans just like everone
+thiago lima shaun was a huge nirvana fan as a kid, he started a band because of them, he even said in an interview that when kurt killed himself he sat in his room crying for like a week... he loved their songs and wants to keep them alive, why complain?
Whenever Shaun sings a Nirvana Song it's like Kurts soul is flying into him so Shaun sings every word like he wrote it himself.
Seether Broken am Amy lee
he literally sounds just like Kurt, just a bit deeper. It's pretty incredible.
Still awesome in 2024! Seether never gets old!
Nobody covers Cobain better than Seether
Nobody else is brave enough. Cortney Love is handy with a shotgun lol. Nah they did the song justice

Petrovsky of bestfriends band can ....😍
I agree. Gave me shivers
UK nirvana does a pretty good job
if theres ever a band to cover Nirvana it Seether
this is..really good. His voice matches so well.
Goosebumps how have Krist and Dave not contacted him yet radiculously spot on
Because they want nothing to do with ever playing those songs again. Especially Dave. Watch any nirvana doc ever. No Dave.
its so cool we have an official release of this on the disclaimer 20 year anniversary now
Where?
A voice so hauntingly beautiful...

I think same style, but not the same exact voice is more like it.
SURE its not kurt..but...his voice is soooooo fantastic..and reminds of kurt..he sounds like him..and this is so..amazing.
He sounds SO much like Kurt. This song absolutely NEEDS that cello line though.
Still getting chills in 2018!Grunge4Life
this man is honoring kurt. keeping his music alive. grow the fuck up.
Im a big Shaun Morgan fan and i have to say He is the closest thing to Kurt we will ever have in my opinion and im 100% happy with that.
Holy shit..how is this the first time I'm hearing this??? I'm actually embarrassed!! This is gold
Woooow… my hat is off to you sir. 🙏🏼💪🏼🫡
Im convinced this guy can sound like anyone grunge!
Except Eddie Vedder, I don't think his voice is deep enough for him.
Rupert Grunt Ft Emma Watson By Harry Potter
This was when Shaun was at his best. He still had that raw heavy rock angst that he seems to have outgrown. To each his own. He's still going and growing and that's all I wish for in my top favorite bands. Rock on Seether!
Crazy good. My favourite singer. Shaun does the best Nirvana covers hands down.
I love Nirvana and I love Seether! Shaun does the best Nirvana covers I've ever heard without being a ripoff (imo). I really do kinda wish that Dave, Krist and Pat would give this dude a chance. @@AlexCH602 Their songs arent really that unique so they wont catch much attention.
Beautiful and Heartfelt Cover from Shaun! 🙌❤️🖤🥰👏
😍😍😍😍😭😭😭sooo much heart in his voice doing this
I love how Seether (through Shaun's singing mostly) is so influenced by Nirvana (this is especially obvious in One Cold Night) yet manages to maintain their own sound at the same time! I love this band! And Nirvana, mind you ^^
My favorite rock band of all times#Seether
Melhor cover dessa música do nirvana, vocal desse cara é bem loco
Oh my goodness.
Amazing, he sounds sooo much like him. and the emotion is perfect and just everything!
Years later we are still listening. And you are amazing! Thanks Seether! You are standup people memorializing Kirt in this way.
Shaun i'm your fan.
Wow, he sounds just like Kurt! I have heard some Seether songs before, but now I will check out more of them on UA-cam.
Amazing!!!
Ugh he's so perfect!
such a good cover. RIP Kurt
Plus they have that whole nirvana feel to them when you hear their music
He's underrated
NO!
His voice is so versatile, it seems like he can cover anything. I prefer covers where they add their own style to the song rather than them trying to sound just like the person though. Still a good cover none-the-less.
fantastic brilliant luv seether
Great cover
Amazing cover
Such an awesome cover
Dam this is so so good! Absolutely love it! Thanks for this!
Still great haunting song R.I.P Kurt thanks
Rare talent

Shaun Morgan is so amazing yeah he sounds just like Kurt Cobain bit his own song's OMG and his other cover songs he nails it 😁 he is truly perfection 💓💜🤘

Shaun(Seether) idolizes Kurt. You might even say Kurt lives on through him.

felix knott Its nice that you formed an opinion on a band and a man you know little about.
chaos8585 It's funny how so many people resort to that. If they have a different opinion, than people like you say they don't know much about it. Maybe you're the one that doesn't know.
meek weeks But it wasn't an opinion, and I did know about it.
Am I the only one that would love to see the remanding nirvana and him do a show. I mean if pantera can do it why not. Just one epic show as a tribute
Wow, he sounds JUST like Kurt did in this song when they played the MTV thing... I have that cd, and I just compared them.... Wow.
Shaun and another guy by the name of Gary played a few Nirvana covers when we were in high school at Maritzburg College and all of us in that classroom that day were blown away!
I love the way he speaks like Kurt
lemme say this, WoW !!
@LittleEmoBoy001 He didn't try to imitate shit, he just respected the way the song is suppose to sound like, AND that's also the way he already sings
I guess nobody liked his green guitar so they made it in black and white.
simplemente perfecto! :"D yo admiro mucho a nirvana y a seether! :"D
wow just wow
linda canção
brazil
yeah great vocals
Damn good cover
I agree with you on this Shaun is better and i think in the future people will look at him like we do to Kurt
parece a voz do kurt. Muito bom
this is Golden
This is amazing
i like it
Existe bastante semelhança nas vozes de Kurt e Shaun , supondo que o Nirvana retornasse Shaun seria um ótimo candidato essa é minha humilde opinião!
Concordo, ele seria uma excelente escolha!
Very good 😘
If your sound card has the option, set it up by 1 semitone (half a step). You'll notice his voice sounds even closer to kurt's than it already is.
He sounds so much like kurt
Seether and nirvana top 2 of my top 5 bands 8)
this guy does a awesome cover of everything and i mean that literally check out seether and shinedown doin nutshell
Wow.
Yes.
Gahd I love him.
@restore2000
dang man thats hard but yea kurts music is so good
Same as a kurt Gr8 vocal
Whaaaouuuu ! ! !
B R A V O
@piemakesmelol and you can understand shaun when he talks, but not either of the brothers from oasis.
Badass over here \/
Used to listen to this song (Kurt Cobain version) a lot when I got hom e school and just cry...this cover is decent.
❤❤❤❤
very good camarad
it's mimed!! it is kurt!!
Cobain is Cobain ....Kurt Donald Cobain 1967 ...... forever❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
To anyone trying to cover Nirvana it always comes back to no one can do it true justice.. but there's something about Shaun that's insane
I don't know why you say these things like "he sounds nothing like kurt."
OF COURSE it sounds. and I would be proud if someone say I sing like kurt cobain! Oo
I'm not saying that he always sings the same as kurt. but the covers of nirvana songs are very similar.
Shaun Morgan you rock!
You close you're eyes is Kurt
jajaja now I can see the video and it's impresionant cause I look the same or the singer of the band creed maybe
He Sings It The Best !! After Kurt OF Course
Thats my favorite Nirvana song, and im SO glad Seether didnt fuck it up cuz seether is the shit
Shaun Morgan can cover Kurt Cobain pretty well. A bit deeper, same style. Post Malone also did a good job with Nirvana covers
put the speed at 0.75 thank me later ;)
It kind of sounds more like the depressive Kurt, which makes the song to be more original or something.
One more Nirvana cover? What a surprise!
+thiago lima shaun was a huge nirvana fan as a kid, he started a band because of them, he even said in an interview that when kurt killed himself he sat in his room crying for like a week... he loved their songs and wants to keep them alive, why complain?
