I get so caught in the "go to work, come home, sleep, repeat" cycle and your videos always remind me that your home needs to be a space you enjoy and take pride in. I hope you had a lovely visit!
Hi Kat! This was such a beautiful ode to female friendship. I am a little ahead of you (43, married, two adorable little girls) and keeping in touch with your friends does NOT get easier. Thanks for inspiring me to reach out. Also- Africa by Toto was the last song at my wedding ❤
the way you prepped the whole house and then the space where your friend would stay, the attention to detail... And how you reflected on life and friendships after... it's so girlhood coded and so wholesome, I relate to it so much and adore it. Hope you had a blast together 💝💝
I feel like you and I are very good friends. We are very, very similar. And I love your channel so much! Thank you for all ( ALL ) your elbow grease. Your videos bring me so much joy!
Just before watching this video I bought tickets to go visit a friend in November. Me and another friend are traveling there and it will be around the time we celebrate 13 years of friendship. Having “old” friends is really special ❤
I’d say I’m the definition of a UA-cam addict-and your channel is to blame! Seriously though, I absolutely love your videos. The B-rolls, the storytelling-it’s all on a Casey Neistat level. It’s such a joy to watch your work. And in a totally non-creepy way, your channel is definitely one of my favorites. Keep up the amazing work, Kat!
You know, I appreciate and admire that a lot of women have these bonding moments in their lives. I never had those, sadly. I was an only child growing up until about 14, I grew up on a farm with all male cousins and we lived far away from anyone I would have been able to spend time with. And by 19 I was living on base with my first husband and by 23 I was a full-time parent caretaker of my dad because he became disabled (going on 21 years now). I feel like I missed out on something magical there. Suffice it to say, I'm married to my second husband now, we love doing everything together, and my sister just turned 30 and has a 7 year old and lives with me most of the time. I help take care of her and her son (and my dad), and my whole house. I guess that sorta gives me a little girlfriend time with her that we were kinda robbed out of. You've inspire me to get some wine and have a little back porch time lounging with her while watching our goats scream in the distance because goats are naturally dramatic.
We adore you. You are so real and so "new york style" an incredibile mix. You totally feel like one of us, and then no because you are super talented in storytelling your own life :)
You always post right when I need this poetic escape from my own little life, I love getting Chances to dip into seeing yours for 16 minutes! Appreciate your openness kat❤
And again a very, very well made video. It has everything: humor, class, friendship, elbow grease , a cat, a beautiful message and so so much wonderful ambiance. Well done girly🤗
I know it’s hard giving up sink space below in the bathroom but when I had a cat I took off the sink doors, made a little curtain and but the litter box in there. It was out of the way completely and Finn got the privacy he deserved.
You telling Mochi about the clean litter box and expecting Mochi to praise you for it "oh you want food.. nevermind" - all cat people understand (including me).
Wow, the cinematography on that opener was so fun. I went back and watched it twice! 😊I also like how the score carries the vibes from the opener through the rest of the film. You put a lot of attention into the details of this film and it shows. Thanks for sharing it with us! ☕
Speaking from experience, if you really want the bathroom cabinet to stay closed they sell magnetic closures that you can just screw in. Easy and satisfying.
I love that you got Minke chocolates and put them on the top of her bed. So many thoughtful touches! I hope you had a fantastic time with your friend. I bet you that she felt so loved and welcomed, and hope you had the best time together. ❤
Tidy reigns supreme over clean in my family sized home I share with my 9 yr old Boston Terrier, Vincent. Clean is only reserved for visitors because the amount of momentum required for me to make it happen can only be generated by the anticipation and excitement of an arrival
I too reminisce that I may never live with my sister or girl friends again and it makes me miss those days. But I’m also grateful for a different stage where I decorate and clean my own house and have peace and quiet when I want it. And yes my college roomies do a quarterly zoom meeting to keep up. A girls trip sounds great too. Thanks for sharing your hosting. It’s very fun to host even my parents in my own home now and make it nice and cozy for them.
You make me want to host my old friends! It's so true about life, as we get older, I have two kids and a hubby now, so life is just so different. Your creativity + thoughtfulness inspires all of us! Thanks for sharing.
So I come home, make some PBnJ sandwiches, have a little juice, sit down in front of my PC, crank up UA-cam and Boom! Indoor Kat is back. I'm happy and proceed to watch. I think to myself "Why are you going to watch this entire video to the end? Because you almost never watch anyone else's to the end." The answer is "This woman makes me smile and giggle." Bravo young lady and thank you for the giggles.
Another delightful video! I too embrace tidiness (but not cleanliness.) With two cats, I don't vacuum nearly enough (using the excuse that it terrifies them), or dust, for that matter but love it when everything is clean. (I also love seeing how other people live their day to day.). Thanks for sharing this lovely prep for time with a dear friend. I hope you enjoyed every moment!
Love your bit about friendships and the effort they take. My friend group is getting into their late 20's and early 30's now, so some of us have moved away or are getting busier with work etc. it's harder to keep in touch in the more spontaneous way we used to. It's so easy to get stuck into routine and be like "oh yeah, someday we should do that" and then never do it. I've really had to confront that the future isn't forever and that I've got to make the most of the opportunities I have at the moment to spend time with the people I care about.
Here you go from Wikipedia, since you asked :D and I am all about googling stuff I don't know :D "The owner of the house is a widow named Blanche Devereaux (McClanahan), who was joined by fellow widow Rose Nylund (White) and divorcée Dorothy Zbornak (Arthur) after they both responded to an ad on the bulletin board of a local grocery store a year before the start of the series. In the pilot episode, the three are joined by Dorothy's 80-year-old widowed mother, Sophia Petrillo (Getty), after the retirement home where she has been living has burned down." Sounds like the future I would have HAHA
Great video. I have a friend coming for a few days in October and I decided to paint the spare room last week when I should have just started cleaning the flat and decluttering a bit. This is so typical of me. I'll start cleaning any day now...
As a small UA-camr in my mid 30s who also makes vlogs and loves watching them - your cinematography is an inspiration and your videos are so comforting and entertaining! ❤ The voiceover at the end was such a lovely way to end the video - and also the karaoke 😂
Good friends are definitely worth the elbow grease! Loved everything about this, heartfelt as always...and hope you girls had an amazing time reuniting.
Totally relate to toilet scrubbing being satisfying! If I'm ever feeling unproductive, cleaning the toilet is the easiest and quickest way to get the productivity ball rolling. I'm also a toilet paper pyramid stacker, lmao. Gotta make do with minimal storage space!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I loved every second of this from the coffee to the color grading to the edits ahhh just love this …plus it made me want to clean my fridge too😅😂
Ahh. That’s a terrible sound. I can’t. Coffee is my happy place! That’s so funny, I ask the same questions! What do you like in your coffee! My Love language! Lol ❤
I had a little cabinet like that in the kitchen -- we just glued on tiny magnets to the door + frame so that it stayed closed, and didn't poke eyes out with its pointy corner.
It does take work to maintain friendships! I used to be a little resentful that I was the one always have to organize everyone, but I'm type-A and many of my friends have ADHD so it just suits me to be the friend-manager 😂
Upon hearing "Hi Kathleen..." for a split second I genuinely thought your friend was going to say, "unfortunately I'm not gonna be able to make it out there afterall." 🤣🤣🤣 *Hosting Villain origin story*🎃
the Nexpresso sound. the nightmarish sound we all are obligated to hear. they should have developed a less terrible sound by now. technology people are clearly placing their attention in the wrong problems 🤔☺ What a wholesome video Kat! I loved it! 🤎🤎
This is UA-cam that demands to be watched on a big TV from a comfy sofa.
And rewatched in rainy days
"we'll start any day now", lol that's me everyday when I look about my space.
I get so caught in the "go to work, come home, sleep, repeat" cycle and your videos always remind me that your home needs to be a space you enjoy and take pride in. I hope you had a lovely visit!
That voice over at the end was actually such a beautiful book end 😍 Kat, I'm absolutely in love with your cinematography ❤
Thank you!! Her voiceover gets me every time. ❤🥹
Who would have thought that watching someone cleaning an apartment would be so entertaining 😃👍
It's like a whimsical film! So well developed
I hope you had a lovely visit with your friend. The care you took to prepare her space shows how much you cherish your friendship.
Hi Kat! This was such a beautiful ode to female friendship. I am a little ahead of you (43, married, two adorable little girls) and keeping in touch with your friends does NOT get easier. Thanks for inspiring me to reach out. Also- Africa by Toto was the last song at my wedding ❤
This not only warmed my heart but made me want to get slip resistant stickers for my bathtub. 😅
Sooo sweeet!! This is the content UA-cam needs.
the way you prepped the whole house and then the space where your friend would stay, the attention to detail...
2:29 - Kat being a relatable queen. I totally understand this; I just deep cleaned my apartment.
Just before watching this video I bought tickets to go visit a friend in November. Me and another friend are traveling there and it will be around the time we celebrate 13 years of friendship.

Thank you so much for watching!!
You are wonderful, this was wonderful!! Thank you for showing real life!!! Cleaning is HARD!
@@LiveitlikeLauren thank you, Lauren!! 🥹 So glad I found your channel via our girl, Chelsea. Hugs to you from NY!
i save your videos for difficult days like this morning. you're just the best at this
Something about your channel is so comforting ❤ keep filming!
Cheap soap in high end bottle, that is hilarious! I know people who do this. So funny! Great video Indoor Kat 😊💗
Mochi is gorg! And has such sweet meows!
the sentiment "I love your creamer" really got me, something about it is so deeply sweet! I hope you had a magical time with a dear friend :)
This was som comforting and relatable. Thank you for letting us in on this🤍

Wine on the back porch sounds like perfection. Also the goats! 😍
My new life goal is to have drama goats so my sister and I can have cocktail hour watching them ❤
Thank you for this.
We adore you. You are so real and so "new york style" an incredibile mix. You totally feel like one of us, and then no because you are super talented in storytelling your own life :)
I love your channel.
Loved the karaoke at the end. I'm not sure why but it brought a tear to my eye.
Wonderful slice of life! ✨
The brown velvet table cloth is amazing and now I am wondering if I can justify getting a brown velvet table cloth.
You always post right when I need this poetic escape from my own little life, I love getting Chances to dip into seeing yours for 16 minutes! Appreciate your openness kat❤
You make me wanna do my own Channel called “Outdoor Jenn” 😂 seriously though, you’re GIFTED at this video stuff girl. Thanks for inspiring me!❤
Yesss, I would love that! 🙌
What a lucky fellow Norwegian🥰

Girl friend times are the best!!! You made her area cozy and inviting. I agree, cat ladies, childless or not, do not mind a litter box 😂💙
"we'll start any day now"... words to live by.
Wow, congrats on over 20K subs, I remember when I watched your very first video not long ago!
Super lovely video Kat ❤
That last scene was everything. ❤
why do I have tears in my eyes at the end 🥲your videos are so creative, warm & funny - thank you for bringing them to us!
Was I just inspired to finally throw out the weird containers in the back corner of my single living 30-something gal fridge!!?? Maybe. Lol
Wow, the cinematography on that opener was so fun. I went back and watched it twice! 😊I also like how the score carries the vibes from the opener through the rest of the film. You put a lot of attention into the details of this film and it shows. Thanks for sharing it with us! ☕

your videos always make me feel so cosy and happy 🫶
also same with the tidy but not clean thing, as someone with long hair and a long-haired cat, i should really vacuum way more often but i haaaate it
I love that you got Minke chocolates and put them on the top of her bed. So many thoughtful touches! I hope you had a fantastic time with your friend. I bet you that she felt so loved and welcomed, and hope you had the best time together. ❤

The authenticity is top tier ❤
Aww. The effort you made! 😢 The best kind of friend one could have. ❤
Love this video! And yes totally agree that toilet scrubbing is quite satisfying!
Gosh, I've found my soul doppelgänger.
So I come home, make some PBnJ sandwiches, have a little juice, sit down in front of my PC, crank up UA-cam and Boom! Indoor Kat is back. I'm happy and proceed to watch. Thanks so much, Robert! I love myself a good PBnJ, too.
I think i now why i love your videos : you makes me think about Lorelai in Gilmore Girls ! Same vibe, i love it
I 100% enjoyed your vlogs! I love your sense of humor! You made me laugh espcially in the Elbow Spray part. Haha!
Golden intro as always ❤
Another delightful video!

unpopular opinion, but I love the nespresso noise! the sound of salvation... 🥰 ☕️
Just subscribe from Hawaii and respect for your channel
I'm so happy to see you on my feed again! I hope you and your friend had the best time!!!

lol the pillow chop. I’d never do that either, and we definitely have similar tidy vs clean habits 😅
Your videos are kind of different and I LIKE THEM!! ❤❤
♡♡♡
Love this whole video. You are hilarious, and I appreciated your displays of friendship! Hope you and your friend had a great visit!
All true things were said here. It gets harder as you get older and life gets more complex, so it's awesome that you're doing it now. Enjoy!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I loved every second of this from the coffee to the color grading to the edits ahhh just love this …plus it made me want to clean my fridge too😅😂
I always smile when I see that you've put up a new video
This reality here is that while I planned on cleaning, I saw a Kat post which, of course, took precedence. I chose correctly. ❤
Omg, your channel is great. Not sure why it was on my home page since my channel is all about retirement…😂😂….but I’m so happy to have found you!
Yay, so happy to have you here! ❤
So good!!!
lovely!!!!! cheers
omg i love your apartment style 🧡

So funny my parents moved me to SF WHEN I WAS 16 from New York City, you moved from SF to NYC. YOUR SO FUNNY LOL
You’re SO woody Allen, New York. (Without the criminality) hope this comes across as a compliment ❤
Kat makes coziest videos 🙃
Your videos are so wholesome and warm and cozy! Golden Girls = 3/4 widowed & 1 divorced 😅
Hot tip, do the bathroom last, finishing with the toilet then shower immediately, no poo poo transfer to the rest of the house!
the Nexpresso sound. the nightmarish sound we all are obligated to hear. they should have developed a less terrible sound by now. technology people are clearly placing their attention in the wrong problems 🤔☺
What a wholesome video Kat! I loved it! 🤎🤎
So so true 😹 Thank you for watching!! 🧡
💜
Bit of an odd question, but where did you get that beautifully-patterned coffee cup that you were holding in the beginning of the video?
… we’ve been waiting for you.
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his.
First!!!
All 3 of the Golden Girls are widowed except for Dorothy who is divorced… until the end of the seasons…
