    Dear John,
I like you, am a mechanical engineer. A dear friend of mine, a self supporting missionary, recommended your book. I am truly amazed by the stories of others. To which I have one to add. I will send it to you via email, as I do not have the patience to type it out on my phone.
    God bless you my friend,
    Dave Stratton

So is when we die, is that considered the first resurrection? Is that what Daniel imply's

The first resurrection was when Jesus was raised from the dead. After Jesus rose from the grave before He ascended while speaking with the Apostles, as he appeared to many over a period of time, many who had believed were raised from the dead as the scripture says probably in the book of Luke. The second resurrection is when Jesus returns and all who believe in Him are released to join their Bridegroom in the air and be united in marriage to begin the New Millennium.

Why do you think he misquoted what Paul says in 2 Corinthians chapter 2 (@ about 14:10)? I know that many people believe Paul is describing himself, but he does not say it was him. He talks about it as if it were another man. I’m certain he knew the actual language and what the Bible really said, so I’m curious why he might have changed it. That kind of thing always makes me cautious about everything else someone says...

Most interpretations I have seen say Paul is referring to himself. See this breakdown as one example: www.versebyverseministry.org/bible-answers/was-paul-speaking-about-himself-in-2-corinthians-12

@@GriefCareCornerstoneFellowship I understand, and agree that he’s probably referencing his own experience, but that’s not what the scripture says. It doesn’t say what It shows on the screen and what he quotes. It says this: ““I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. And I know that this man was caught up into paradise-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows- and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses-”
      ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:2-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬.
He should not change scripture. Every translation I looked at talks about this in third person - not first person. None of the translations do. He can make the same point without mischaracterizing what scripture says. It calls into question everything else he says.

@@aaroncooper8523 I truly appreciate your wanting to know. Since others have also asked this question and I saw numerous interpretations, it is important to many so I would urge you to search these out. We may not know for sure on this side of eternity! I have also read that Paul would sometimes refer to himself in the third person so that is also something to consider. I think what's more important in all this is what others have seen when arriving in Heaven, both what it says in scripture and other NDE stories as Pastor Burke is referring to. It provides hope for us all who seek and follow Jesus.

@@GriefCareCornerstoneFellowship I actually found one translation that speaks in the 1st person, and if I recall, he often quotes this translation in his book. The NLT says: “I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know-only God knows. Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell.”
      ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
So, mystery solved - thank you for engaging. I’m sorry for questioning his integrity in any way.

@@aaroncooper8523 I'm so glad that we had this engagement for such a serious subject as the validity of teaching given by anyone. We must all think and be aware of how others interpret scripture so we can try to comprehend what the Bible is truly telling us. I'm grateful that you are here and wanting to know more. We should all pursue the truth!
