This is an old video, but still a good one. ONE IMPORTANT FEATURE YOU LEFT OUT.....Pertronix I and II BOTH will burn up if you leave the key on and the engine is not running in a VERY SHORT TIME. The Pertronix III will NOT burn up if you leave the key on and the engine is not running....VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE !!
When installing the SDVA type with a Kadron/solex dual set, doesn't the Kadron need a mechanical advance instead of a vacuum advance?
Can I use that coil with my 009 that has Pet 3 installed ?
I just bought one and installed it. I love it.. What should a stock 1600cc engine rpm rev limiter be set to? and do you have a video to set the timing since it seems it will no longer set by static timing

how well with this work with a 32/36 progressive carb? i was looking at running the same coil that you have on this engine. do you think i would be fine running that coil, with the flame thrower lll with the vacuum advaced distributor, or do you think i should go with the larger flame thrower lll distributor with out the vacuum advance. i have read that the progressive carb should use a vacuum advance disgtributor. However i have also read that if i run that coil i should go with the larger disributor because of the chance of having the spark jumping from one post to the other.
Is it possible to turn the built in rev limiter with the module off and not use it, because I already have the pertronix rev limiter box set up?
Kyle Munn Hi Kyle. Yes. Good question. Set it to programming mode like in the video, and turn the screw counterclockwise until it stops. This disables the rev limiting function.
