This Canik pistol model, the TP9-DA, is poorly misunderstood. The pistol is a marvel, it comes with two optional firing modes: 1. It can be de-cocked with the top press button, for a first shot double action and subsequent follow-up shots in single action, as it is desired by many police agencies and also many civilians. OR, 2. It can be staged to be fired in single action only, by pulling the trigger back without touching the middle safety blade to set it in single action (all shots). An amazing system! People don't like things that need a little thinking, I get it, but this isn't "rocket science." I own a TP9-DA and have nothing but praises: reliable, accurate with a fine smooth trigger. It is a superb modern combat handgun.
Ordered the DA this week. First pistol purchase in 8 years. Was all set to get my first Glock (17), and the guy at the store was extolling the virtues of Canik, and the excellent trigger out of the box. I had never heard of them before last week. So i went home and did a ton of research on the company, and was duly impressed by the massively positive feedback from pretty much everyone on it. So many videos of established youtubers being genuinely amazed at the trigger. It really is marvelous. I am switching to the DA for carry. Don't want to compromise with only 7 shots with my Shield.
I currently own 2 Canik TP9DA. I have the bronze as well as a black one. It is definitely 1 of my top 3 favorites next to my TP9SFX and my Gen 5 G19. I love everything about it except the bulky holster that it comes with which I don't use any how.
No clue- you would have to ask each individual department as they all have different rules and regulations, even from county to county and certainly from state to state.
Bought the tp9fx fell in love bought the tp9fsx optics ready there great guns ya I live in Goshen Ohio guns have never went to crazy love ya guys keep up the good work
Can you gel test Federal 9mm 135 Grain Hydra Shok Deep out of this same gun (3.6" barrel), most importantly including bone in the testing, to see how it expands through bone? No one has tested this round through bone yet. Thanks.
I'm not sure how much of the channel you have seen or if you've commented before, but I recently did a very thorough "most powerful 9mm" gel test if you care to see that. I love the HST rounds from Federal. Have yet to aquire any for myself, but will soon. We haven't done bone tests yet to date, but were discussing doing such in the very near future with pork ribs behind denim and in front of the blocks. I can't make any promises, but if you stick around long enough, you will eventually see 9mm tests through ribs. Is there a better idea you have for a "bone" test than using pork ribs? Haven't heard of the Hydra Shock Deep rounds before- will have to test them out. Interesting round! Slow and heavy...
@@BuckeyeBallistics Hey, just found your channel today. Pork ribs sounds good for bone test. I saw on another channel, one of those dog bones were used as the "bone" in the test. And as for the Hydra Shok Deep, I prefer those over the HST rounds, as the Deep was designed to consistently penetrate 15" in FBI gel tests. I'm definitely more of a penetration than expansion person, so it's the perfect round for me, as it sacrifices the extreme HST-like expansion, for better penetration. I'm just curious as to how reliably it would expand in a real body, hence a bone test. I can try to find a link for the ammo, would be great if you could test it, especially considering you actually use proper FBI 10% gel, with all the official protocols. You might be the only one I know that doesn't just resort to clear gel.
I just sold a Ruger SR45 and it's a double action only striker fire... so however that works. Well, DAO, no trigger reset. The slide brings the striker half of the way back, then there is a long and somewhat heavy pull- you can watch the striker come further and further back as you pull the trigger futher and further. It's kinda weird and I didn't really like it, hence the reason I sold it. So I would image this Canik works similar to that when in DA, makes the trigger pull the striker back instead of the slide.
I don’t understand the da/as for a pistol. But every gun isn’t made for me so... 2 more days and we’ll see what the new Taurus is. I wish it was a TX9. But it is going to be a 365 clone I think.
Wait till you carry an all steel pistol daily for a couple years, then you will understand young grasshopper . . . also they make plenty of excellent metal guns. Check out the CZ75 SP01
What a piece of crap the only reason I bought one is because it was cheap am I going to shoot it no don’t trust something that cheap I’ll keep it until I save up enough to trade it in
So judging by your other comment, it must be a cheap peice of crap because it isn't an all metal gun? You must not be a Glock fan then either lol. I love all metal guns, but I love plenty of polymer guns too...

@German Vanegas 👍 Well said.
They run great.

I just found out last night they make drums for em my 50rd on the mf wayyyy
@@BDSCOLOSSAL u people love drums and switches lol .. just hit the range and learn to shoot better so u don't need all that garbage

wish I had bought the burnt bronze it looks really good.
i want one so bad now lol. do you know if the compact tp9 elite comes in this color?
I have this gun and the mete sfx and just got the sfx rival , I thing canik makes some of the best guns going , that’s just my opinion

What ammo are you running on it?
Blazer brass
it will run any 9mm ammo hollow as well.
I love my canik

365 type pistol would make sense, considering Ruger just did the same thing with the Max-9.
DA/SA are safe for carry as opposed to the accident-prone Glock.
1/2 longer than the glock 19 more comparable
Gave me a good laugh at the start.
Which part

metal means a heavier gun plus ammo, = not moving as fast on the go, you ever been in the service, if SHTF you'll learn this fast!!
