    First set of chrome wheels for my liking.All Australian built cars are worth restoring,especially a Statesman.

      100% theres a couple other priceless memories, when we did the first engine start up, dad was on the key and when he got to drive it again after 25 years.

    Hotwire wheels always look the bomb on a HQ, my favourite mags, especially deep dish ones

    I get why you’re doing it. I wish I could get the 1976 Ford LTD with the 351 that my father had and restore it too. Some things are just great memories worth saving.

    This Statey will come up an absolute treat. Keep on keeping on, I’m really enjoying this channel as not many people catalog statesmen restos. Kudos matey

      Thanks mate, appreciate the support, occasionally it can be quite daunting thinking about the amount of work ahead so reading comments like yours is really encouraging! I'll just keep going 1 step at a time 👍

      Cheers mate, thanks for the feedback. I did have a segment in there about taking the diff out and then showing my hand bleeding after slipping off the control arm bolt! I took it out for some reason. I think the next one will be longer with the body shop guy.

      Thanks mate really appreciate you guys who enjoy the progress. Yeah I love the dumped look, I'll put it through compliance completely factory to keep it simple then once its vinned do the wheels and lowering. The roof is coming along well at the moment!

    Did you measure up and mark the front clip location, pays too, their are 2 locator alignment holes in the chassis that line up with holes in the body using a couple of round steel bars, everything on front end that bolts up has so much movement you can end up with a car that crabs or wheel alignment guys will have a hell of a job to get it to track straight.

    Dude got to support fellow Kiwi. Good luck with the compliance as i heard can be pretty harsh to keep older cars off the roads but i personally think they should be saved. Check out Backshed hes an Aussue guy that rebuilds alot of these rebuilds and is really on to it and knowledgeable

    • @The-State-of-it
      @The-State-of-it  Рік тому +1

      Cheers for the support! Yeah it's full on, they use cameras to inspect behind panels and places they cant see. I'm doing every thing by the book, even that drive shaft they will ask who repaired it. So every bit of work that's structural, makes it go or stop has been done by places known to compliance. Definitely worth the save and a decent bit of structural progress has been made since posting this video! Thanks mate.

      @Hq Statesman Build also I suppose the video process could also be used to confirm things done right for future in case of an issue.

    • @The-State-of-it
      @The-State-of-it  Рік тому +1

      Yeah it's a good bit of documentation! I'll film what I can of the body certification and compliance check and try to get some information out of these guys about what the do's and don'ts are. Then hopefully someone else watching the video can see what the procedure is so they don't make any mistakes.

      Hi Deano, thanks for noticing the editing, its something I have been working to improve on, this was done on my phone using VN. Have you seen my latest video? This is the first edit done on my new laptop with Davinci Resolve (took ages to learn). Also the ¼s video (done on my phone) I try a bit of music. Be interested in any feedback on those videos as I want to get as good as I can with editing.
