I appreciate how you keep it all clean as you go... 👏
This is a great video, thoroughly enjoyed it because I could follow it with ease. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Great job buddy!
These are the best teaching videos I’ve seen on UA-cam. Not just VW how-to’s, either. No long, drawn out sermon at the onset. No bullshit that has nothing to do with the title. Also, using fast motion to make a complete teaching, and stopping for normal motion at the critical parts, great way to eliminate confusion. I have to ask, though: how are those neoprene transmission mounts holding up? Do they transmit a lot of vibration?
Thanks buddy! The mounts are fine, no noticeable vibration👍
Excellent video, well explained and moving the camera closer to see what is happening. SUBSCRIBE!!!
Love your videos !! Put some wire around shifting rod or else bolt would run lose

Great Job. This rear suspension didn't have in a brazilian beetle.
Really great job on this video series. I’m learning all I can before starting on my own beetle. My question is, why did you replace the axles? How could you tell they needed replacing? Many thanks.
The boots needed to be replaced and it was just easier to replace the whole axles👍
Nice work! Talk about some petrified rubber, aye?!!
My first car was a '69 bug. My first breakdown was one of the axles sheered all the bolts and dropped an axle. If that wasn't bad enough, it did it in the middle of an intersection in a bad part of town in Orlando. Hookers helped me push it out of the middle of the road. They were not Julia Roberts "Pretty Woman" hookers either.
It’s funny how many great stories involve a VW beetle👍
Great images. What kind of grease do you use?
I use this Honda Gear Oil amzn.to/39mrXgu👍
Hi, where did you buy the Axles ?
JBugs👍
✌️✌️👍
Good job; the only thing that made me cringe is the red urethane trans mounts. These red urethane parts are cheaply made, hard and they degrade and break sooner than OEM type rubber. They also transmit more vibration. I use rubber OEM type on most suspension components, including the most important; the steering coupler; for those reasons.
I agree on the urethane. I bought the stock style mounts in the past and they broke before I could even install them. I definitely prefer the rubber mounts but I don’t know were to get quality rubber mounts.
@@Jerod_Helt CB Performance, SoCal, CIP1, etc have them. I told you this because recently I had to replace the pads on the camber compensator in my car and they only make them out of red urethane. You should see how the old ones look as compared to the new ones. Granted; they were 15 years old but they’re not exposed to UV rays; they just crumble with time. Hope you changed the hypoid gear oil 😉. Great work and always thanks for sharing this!
I bought a set of the rubber mounts from Jbugs a few years ago and one of them broke immediately after getting it out of the box. I assume all the parts suppliers sell the same stuff. I do plan on changing the gear oil👍
