@mar0289 I mentally "scored" while watching, and came up with 9.5 to 9.55, so I think it seemed just a smidgen low, also. I do this during all the routines, for fun and to try to get a little better understanding of how the scoring works, and I was fairly close on the rest of these beam routines.
At the 2000 Sydney Olympics, yes. But not here in Athens 2004. And in Athens, the medal had yet to be taken away. If you're talking about the 2003 Worlds where they were dropped to 4th, it was for a penalty on their overall score for warming up on the podium past one touch warmups.
Sod Simone Biles - Catalina Ponor is Queen of the beam! She is amazing to watch! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better beam worker - she’s graceful, does very difficult elements, and just makes it look so effortless! I could watch her all day on beam!
These comments are unbearable. They don't even watch the routine and just mention their vapid anecdotes. I hate them. When Catalina is on beam, you shut up and admire.
or do her floor routine 1 rotation later. smh. shr and her horrific cat leaps shouldve been replaced by Bhardwaj in AA, that was ridiculous. if u cNt do beam how can u do floor. this wasnt classics. maybe she had a nervy warm up and was scared to fall. thats what i think. bs. mohini is a queen
@@susandilaudo9534 think you're being a little harsh. I love mohini too but Courtney did have leg surgery before and sometimes your past injuries can bother you when you least expect it. See could have been hurting since the beginning but tried to muscle through it since that's what a lot of gymnasts do. I do agree that they could have let her sit out if that was the case and mohini was really good and underrated. Her and annia slayed their vaults and I can't believe some people didn't think mohini should have made the team in general
@@susandilaudo9534 If you listen to the commentary when Courtney is on beam in AA and EF, she said that tumbling wasn't the problem, it was certain positions in jumps and landing on her right leg. After the Olympics she was diagnosed with a stress fracture in her hip.
apluskel I’m glad I didn’t see these years ago cuz u Miss are not a gymnast fan and r so rude. Really, I don’t think her make up has anything to do with her performance. Her UB saved the US.
Ya know, I do have to admit that a lot of the elite gymnasts do have nice butts. However it is still fun to watch. Also I, personally, don't hate the Americans, but the Romanians just had a better day that day. Besides 2nd place is really awesome to. So yeah, America rules.
It's amazing how Catalina Ponor always has the whole arena with her
NBC is like, what if I everyone was forced to watch international gymnastics meets with their most annoying uncle? Let's hire Al Trautwig!
Anna's routine is amazing.
Love Pavlova on a beam..gorgeous
Romanians are so amazing!!
I like the background noise when in closes up on Khorkina's face when she's about to dismount it goes so well lol
Reminds me of Kill Bill
Anna Pavlova.. so underrated!
Yes, you are right! Anna and Svetlana did not have those great Soviet teammates, and therefore, they could not get those team golds.
Catalina rules, bet her beam style would still score high today
If Elfi is reading this, would you mind taking half a breath after the routines so we can all have a nanosecond to react?

Also Anna Pavlova's beam, wish we could see more of that today!

Khorkina always looked clunky on the beam and got deductions for form. Very fair, IMO.
@auswriteratheart Agreed. That deserved so much better.
I hated the colors at these Olympics..haha
Eu iria morrer e não sabia que a Pavlova tinha uma série dessas de trave.

I think I might be the biggest Khorkina fan ever, fair my butt that score, she was awesome

Her Beam was incredible she was def @ her peak here
It's the commentators that don't get it. Not the fans. #BiasedTrolls.
Khorkina's routine should have been at least in the 9.5 range.
khorkina did not look strong and healthy she may have been but she shore didnt look like it
Khorkina was screwed on BB. The Russians were superior on BB.
How did Courtney have a leg injury here, but fine 2 days later for AA?

Because she had a lot of one foot landings on her beam routine. To me she was the best gymnast in this team, too bad she wasn’t 100% healthy.
But in AA she had to,do beam. I agree she and Carly were 2 of my favorites.

Khorkina looks like a skeleton
terin humphrey's eye makeup is way overdone. she has dark, deep set eyes as it is but with all that mascara and glittery goop she looks monstrous
