- This is a railroad crossing compilation of grade crossings with rare Safetran Type 1 Electronic Bells that I have filmed. A couple in this video have been replaced but the others are still active till this day. This is one of the oldest and rarest modal of Electronic Bells besides the ASC Electronic Bell that is just as old and rare maybe even more rare than the Safetran. From my knowledge, both BNSF and UP used the Safetran Type 1 E-Bellin the late 1990s and early 2000s but hadn't installed many of them. The only places I could say had many work here in the Central Valley of Northern California in both Stockton, Sacramento, & Hughson CA which once had several at there crossings but have been replaced with a few remaining in each city of those cities. This was a railroad crossing compilation I been waiting until I got one more crossing which was Amorco Rd before I finally made this. At the end is a picture of my Safetran Type 1 E-Bell but it doesn't work itself.

Great video and compilation! Still only ever seen one of these in person, and that one's now long-gone.
I like these bells!
THERE SAFETRAN
Me too, because they sound the most like Mechanical bells
My city used to have a safetran type 1 but it got replaced at January 25 2020.
Dude that's a-lot safetran type 1 e bells that's 👍Great.
There is a crossing up in Manitowoc WI with this type of bell.
Nice compilation! Always loved these bells. Btw, my friend went to Lincoln today, 1st street and 5th street got upgraded completely, the rest of the crossings remain unchanged.
Thanks! Wow they did 1st St fast! When I was there two weeks ago at 1st St they had just put a new relay case in but wasn't connected to anything and everything else was still the same. 5th St was pretty fast also.

Nice video! There used to be a safetran type 1 over on Atlantic St #1 in North Kansas City, but sadly the bell Nazis replaced that bell with a gs e bell only for BNSF to replace the signals entirely with newer Siemens gate mechs and gs type 3s. There is a pair of safetran type 1s on the UP Sedalia Sub, but that crossing is like an hour or 2 away from me over at Harding Ave in Sedalia, MO. Sadly I can't go film that crossing as its like very far from where I live.
Nice video! Always been one of my favorite bells hope to see some sometime wish these existed around where I live
Superb
Nice compilation of crossings
6:42 they need pedestrian gates on here
If they did, those rascals still would run under them.
@@KEFAalarmsandmoreadd a special barrier under
@@FaFromCastle If they did, the gate would go up SUPER slowly. Maximum counterweights would become useless.
These are my favorite E Bells, they sound the most like mechanical bells
Nice compilation! Which of those Safetran type 1s are the loudest?
Nice video ❤❤❤
great video
Sadly, from what I can tell, there aren’t any Safetran Type 1s in my home state of Oregon, or in my neighboring state of Washington.
I know! I’m in Beaverton, and I haven’t seen anything of the kind.
Only the bells that turn off when the gate goes completely down. 🤮🤮🤮 I hate those, there so boring.
theres one in hawaii
Awesome Video
Nice
4:07 this Safetran type 1 is dead and might be long gone guys. There is a video about the crossing have a dead Safetran type 1
Here in rapid city SD we have a crossing with that bell on 1st Street or 2nd Street I can't remember
One of the CTrain stations near me has one of these. Should I film it?

Thanks! I'll have to see but likely won't be able to get it.
It hasn't got to midtown Sac yet It going to stop at lathrop for some work yards before it gets to the Sac sub
6:40 the gates were like yes no yes
Awesome compilation?
** compilation!
Are they called E bells because it sounds like an E natural in musical terms?
E = electronic - they don't contain an actual bell, but rather a speaker that plays a bell sound. Or whatever the heck the WCH ones do, "bell" is a stretch on those.
I’m sure you’ll get it working
8:31 that my favorite crossing
😅😅😂they have a funny 😆 sound
1:40 I think this crossing looks familiar… 🤔
“Safetran Type 1 bellin” lol!
