These types of clubs such as Darvel, Kelty, East Kilbride, Broomhill have all had or have 1 thing in common, a money man, who hasn't nanaged to get hands onto a senior club. As soon as the money dries up, there is no way back for them, crowds off 250 isn't sustainable in the levels they want to be at. Darvel beat Aberdeen but hugely helped by a shocker of an offside decision that had Aberdeen taking the lead. These types of clubs are all very close to established senior clubs, who are never gonna get close or take over those such as Kelty 5 mins from Dunfermline or EK next to Hamilton. The young lads are great at making atmosphere etc but let's face reality, 10 years time they ain't gonna be there, they be at Ibrox and Celtic Park..
Hi Blair hope ur well mate, as an Aberdeen fan and yes I was at the game that they knocked us out of the Scottish cup, I must say I am absolutely gutted if Darvel were to fold as the people all around that club from chairman to players to fans are just such likeable people and they do NOT deserve to fold as I spoke to a lot of the fans before and after the Scottish cup game and honestly they were so welcoming and there hospitality was amazing so am going to Start a go fund me and get it around all the Aberdeen fan pages etc and raise as much money as possible for Darvel and just hope it will be enough to keep them a float for as long as possible. Without smaller league football and teams and local teams u would NOT have your big premier league teams as every footballer starts off with the local lower league teams so please folks help them out as much as possible. #SAVE DARVEL FC
