I have zero nostalgia for these games, but watching Dan play a game he so clearly loves is infectious.
Seriously I genuinely never cared for them as a kid but seeing this and how happy he is for it makes me kinda wanna buy it.
I have to agree. Never had a skateboard, never wanted one, never played or had any interest in skateboarding games. Yet, because of Dan and seeing the large open levels, I keep thinking I'd like to give this a go.

What the Create a Park needs is the ability to set up goals so people can complete them like proper levels, even if they don't get XP for them.
yeah, i remember they had that in THPS4. Also, would be nice if you could skate around the parks in private multiplayer lobbies

@@sonspork Sims 4 still has regular cheats, and it's an EA game. And yeah it is ridiculously priced but tbh, EA Play is £20 a year. A YEAR! and you get access to pretty much every EA game: Sims 4, Starwars Battle Front 1 and 2, Entire Battlefield Series, Entire Need For Speed Series and much more. Sounds good to me.
Yeah, these days they're built in to games for accessibility or whatever. Wouldn't want to make people feel bad for cheating or something. lol

I didn't grow up with these games myself, but I have no words to describe how good it feels to see a remake of beloved classics be so warmly received by someone who loved the original.

I absolutely love watching Nerdcubed play games he loves. Only problem is he said "Thanks Tony Hawx". Poor Tony, Dan loves your games so much and doesn't know your name.
Remember opening Pro Skater 1 on Christmas, with my big grey playstation. I didn't see my family until boxing day. Those were the days.
Impulse bought this yesterday for the nostalgia, immediately remembered that i suck at Tony Hawk games (if you need someone to land every single trick exactly parallel to the lip, I'm your man) and most of my enjoyment came from watching friends play it. I'm still happy with my purchase, 10/10

My favorite part of this video is watching this grown man relive his childhood. The sheer joy you can hear in his voice is amazing. Its like a kid playing a game for the first time. What a truly amazing thing to watch. Happy for you Dan!
I have never played these games before but there is something so infectious about seeing dan so happy to play a game that I now have to try this game when I get a chance.
I've only ever played THUG, but I have quite a bit of nostalgia for it. My favorite part of that game was the level editor, so when Dan found the smart pieces I went from mildly interesting in this game to completely and utterly sold.
Whenever I am sad, I come back to this video. It's like hanging out next on the couch next to your super excited friend during the 90s watching him play in total enjoyment.
Makes me smile everytime.
just watched your old video of THPS5. and i love how excited you are now! i played the old tony hawks SOLO. i never switched the game out. always was just playing this game. and now finally i can skate again. i hated all the tony hawk newer editions. like HD and 5 i wasn't feeling it and was dissapointed. but this!!! is HEAVEN

Truly, Dan’s sheer excitement for this game inspired me to buy it, and the last Tony Hawk game I played was that weird Disney/Pixar one for GameCube.
These games were some of the best parts of my childhood. Me and my sister only got about 1 or 2 games a year and these along with the third game were some of the first we got and we played them from the time we woke up to the time we went to bed. We settled arguments by seeing who could get more points in the timed runs.
I want to meet dan one day, and just give him a hug, one hug. For making my childhood, teens, and soon adulthood more bearable. I was here from the beginning and I'll be here until the end, which I hope isn't soon.
This Dan is so different than Dan 3 years ago, and it’s incredible. So glad he’s back to having fun again
My reaction to this was pretty tepid at first, right up until he started playing Hanger. Then it was like a core memory and been unlocked and I felt true childlike happiness.
Please play more of this I was too young for the originals but I love the look of it nad seeing you so excited so please play more
This game is just so much a part of 90s culture. I must have played it for *maybe* 30 minutes at a friend's house but I *still* somehow know some of the secrets just via 90s playground chatter.

@@LauraaaxxH out of any of the Tony Hawk games, it was one of my favorites. Whether it was the atmosphere, the fact it had a storyline, the hilarious surroundings and missions, and just the multiple shops around the area, it was the great.
But, the best TH game of all time was American Wasteland, and there is NOTHING anybody can do to convince me otherwise.

Honestly, I never actually played Pro Skater 1 or 2 (just American Wasteland honestly from what I remember)
Yet this still somehow gives me such nostalgia, and makes this feel like one of the feckin best nerdcubed videos I've seen In a hella long time. It may be a sin to say nowadays but; I'm happy.

I played a ton of THPS 3 so hopefully that will come as well, but I'll definitely spend a lot of time with this, It's absolutely incredible.
I can see 3 and 4 having DLC levels added. You can already use the controls of those games anyway.
