Nice to watch you working. You are amazing I would never be able to keep up with you. You seem to be enjoying live and keeping busy and that’s always great to see.
Oh heck yeah man. Life is GREAT !! But I've always subscribed to the thought that life is what you make it too. Thanks Richard for stopping in and leaving a such a supportive comment !!
Hahahahaha....of course not !! Where would an old alter boy like me pick up that kind of information... LOL. The invention of the two stage pump was a godsend for the small splitter industry.
I did not see any mud wrestling on your videos 🤣🤣. 51 John Deere B work. Our family bees from the 40s and you have to turn it over by hand. If you want to come and go into your audience and make it not for kids. Daniel have comments if that interests you.
I just did a video of the mods we did to my big box store splitter. It turned that very ordinary splitter into a very capable machine. I have never run into anything yet that my splitter won’t split. It either splits it or it cuts it, but with that 2nd stage, it makes small pieces out of big ones. I will be splitting some hard maple this fall. That can get a little gnarly. Thanks We dell
Awesome Gary !! I'll go take a look and see what you did. A two stage is definitely beneficial for sure. The big worry is twisting a light non-reinforced beam with the twisted grarly burls going through the stress of the push. But if this pump ever wears out I will probably give serious consideration of a 28 gpm two stage pump to keep the ram speed up 95% of the time. Heck I only need the extra oomph 5% of the time. (by estimation). LOL. And I think my beam will handle the stress with the webbing reinforced with a 3/8 plate on both sides making it a 1 1/8" thick beam plus gussets.
Sorry to hear about your wrist hurting Wendell 😔 I hope you get the feeling back soon. I can only imagine how bad that interferes with things. Stay safe my friend 🔧
Well Zane, I hurt it back in the summer with the 660 Stihl on the Holzzforma 48" alaskan mill. I jerked a nerve under my forearm that's been tough to put behind me.
Well thank you Jan. I am trying how to make them interesting and not just the same repetitive splitting exercises but I can't figure out how to do that.
That’s an amazing splitting machine! I could use that to split my oak . I have a small upright one I’m borrowing and it’s way to slow . We had two huge oak trees fall on our property and I have a huge load of oak to split. Thanks for sharing another interesting video.
Well, if you was a neighbor instead of 2/3's the way across the country from me, Id stop by and shoot the breeze with you and watch you split it all !! LOL Btw, I didn't think So Cal needed any heat....??!!
@@tractorman4461 HaHa We need heat because the natural gas company has tripled the rates out here!!! It gets into the high twenties sometimes. Thanks for the friendly offer - if only we were neighbors I would take you up on your offer!!!

Good old splitter there Wendell. single stage pump too, still get's the job done. Regarding the wrist,, with that sprain or what the 'aliment' might be, it's kind of like a fuse in a panel, it lets you know when you have overloaded it, doesn't it? I feel that too. just watching throw those pieces up and over like this.
Well Reg, I think its a sign of impending old age or something !! It is unbelievable how I have difficulty with holding and throwing with just the right hand. It's slowed my process down considerably. But no biggie, eventually it should come back to normal...maybe this winter when I get some indoor shop time huh. LOL
@@tractorman4461 The main thing is, I think, to keep going and doing things as you've always been doing. Well, it's what I try to do, like today fr example, my buddy and I are changing over our cars to winter ( snow and ice ) tires and wheels,... bet you don't have tp do that! LOL

Hi Wendell! Sorry you have a hurt wrist! I know that must be frustrating for you to be slowed down by an injury. The ole’ wood splitter doesn’t take no for an answer, does it? Always fun to see it in action! Take care of that wrist!
Yessir, that wrist/arm pain thing has been dealing me a fit now since the middle of summer or so Martin. I've managed to get in to a therapy program and they are telling me its a damaged nerve. So we will see what becomes of it. But it sure does put a cramp in the activities a bit. At least my therapist is a very nice lady.....and her hands are warm !! (-;
Love the videos bud. I do have a question though as im deciding how to build my splitter. What gallons per minute is your single stage pump? Is it a pto pump or do you have it set up a different way? And likr my uncle used to tell me when id stack hay and he'd watch. Boy, work fascinates me and i could watch YOU do it all day. Haha :)
I stop by John's channel from time to time. Now that old boy gets some stuff done I tell ya !! I LOVE those big circle mills he has and those Detroits are great sounding and smooth running power units for sure. I have a little '50's 3-71 that will go on my circle mill one of these days....I hope. LOL
No, not really Rick. I keep a variety of small to large pieces to make it easy for the Missus to keep the fires going. She doesn’t like the big ones because they’re kinda hard for her to handle. So she can put two or three to equal one of my bigger ones. Make sense ..??
What I'd consider instead Grizz is to come up with a pto mounted pump that mounts directly ON the pto shaft behind your Kubota. Then you can pull it behind the tractor and have plenty of power for the single stage pump as long as you don't go crazy with the pump displacement. I'd at least price them at Surplus Center. I don't recall the exact hp of your tractor but I'm pretty sure it'll handle a 16 gpm single stage pump. But if you try to pop the relief valve, it WILL kill the tractor just like THAT !! I'd say 250 bucks and a few hydraulic hoses will get ya working quick. Later you can convert it to a three point mounted splittler for even more versatility.
