Her 'Crazy' is possibly the biggest jukebox song of all time.

This was the first song Decca Records released after her death. Her recording of Willie Nelson's "Crazy", is her most popular record, and was the most played song on the jukebox of all time. She was a very adept country singer, and of course most revered for her ballads; but she could really let loose, and loved her "red hot mama" country songs.

I've been hard rock/metal head since the early '70s but never have I turned off, or even down, a song by Patsy Cline. one of the most talented singer of the 20th century. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Patsy was not only a world class talent, but also was known as a mentor to up and coming female singers. She helped Loretta Lynn get her start in Nashville, who went on to become maybe the greatest of her era.

This is one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "Crazy", "She's Got You", "Walkin' After Midnight", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love" etc. She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams".

    I agree with stpetie
I grew up on rock and roll
When I finally got around to Patsy and I heard her voice
I swear I broke down and cried
How could I have been so closed minded
She is one of those artists that is her own genre
    One of a kind

Patsy Cline felt every song she sang. She has a cry in her voice. She can sing perfectly while really crying as you heard in this song. I don't know how she does it! Listen to her version of "Faded Love." She'll break your heart by the end of the song!Patsy doesn't give 100%, she gives you 150% of herself all the time. I love it when she lets loose & gives us that growl, yodel & emotions she's known for. There will NEVER be another Patsy Cline!!

At age 13, Cline was hospitalized with a throat infection and rheumatic fever. Speaking of the incident in 1957 she said, "I developed a terrible throat infection and my heart even stopped beating. The doctor put me in an oxygen tent. You might say it was my return to the living after several days that launched me as a singer. The fever affected my throat and when I recovered I had this booming voice like Kate Smith's." Wikipedia

Sadly Andrei is correct in his observations, music back then was more about feelings and emotions, that element has been removed from newer music of the 21st century. You'd be glad to know, in the mid 80s, Canadian singer k.d. lang brought a resurgence of Patsy's style of country western music of the early 60s. Her band, the Reclines, were dubbed that name in Patsy's honor. Lang's 1st album featured a song "Three Cigarettes in the Ashtray", a Cline staple. k.d's vocal range and delivery are phenomenal, which harkens Patsy Cline's style of singing.

I'm a classic rock guy, but first time I heard Patsy's voice it stop me in my tracks. One of the most beautiful voices ever on record, right alongside Karen Carpenter & Peggy Lee in the easy-listening arena. Feel free to do more of her music, we certainly don't mind. ☺️. (Andrés, I completely agree with you on the style of the past (40s-50s). It didn't matter your social or economic position, most folks dressed so much nicer...took pride in their appearance but not in a vain way. My dad had several 1950s cars & I still admire the stylish designs to this day. Actually looking/hoping to get a late 50s car this summer!!

Dominika, I agree with you when you said the heart and mind are not always in sync. We women can spend much time obsessing over the "what went wrong". Had to smile about the cuckcoo comment, I can identify with that! lol. Patsy Cline is a legend, her beautiful, clear, soaring vocals are some of the best ever heard. She started as a country singer and was among the first to cross over to pop music. Her songs "Crazy" "I Fall to Pieces" "She's Got You" and "Walking After Midnight" are just a small sample of music she left us in her brief career. Great reaction, as usual 🥰

As an old fogey , I say the world is going to hell . If you don't offend somebody , you aren't speaking the truth . In this disgusting " politically correct " era everybody is far too worried about offending somebody and too many people are too easily offended . Such people NEED to be offended on a regular basis , maybe it will make them wake up to reality . I am probably one of the most DELIBERATELY politically INcorrect people you will run across
