Dear Nomy ~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for existing, making amazing music, and making me feel better when I'm down. I want to give a message on my 3 favorite songs of yours. It's really long so sorry about that lol. *No particular order* 1) Chaos Chaos is one of those songs that not only gets my adrenaline going, but makes me feel like I'm not alone. I have autism and psychotic depression and the lyrics really explain what it's like to have absolute chaos going on inside my head, and no one understanding that. I feel very angry towards humans in general a lot and the lyrics help me calm down by knowing that I'm not the only one that feels that way. Autism is also a very chaotic thing to go through on daily basis. All the sensory stimulation makes my mind go into a chaotic state and it gets harder and harder to ground myself in reality, and I feel like this song speaks to me in that way. 2) They Said I Was Special As I mentioned before, I have autism. However, I am pretty high functioning, which means I'm able to appear "normal" on the outside sometimes, but it's still easy to tell that something's off with my brain if you pay attention. Having said that, I've never been enrolled in a special education program, class, or school, because I'm high functioning enough to be able to perform in a mainstream environment. I know I'm "special" and I do get help for that, but I'm not "special" enough to need a special education environment. When people talk to me about my disability (mostly adults) they often describe me as special. They know I'm high functioning, so they sort of assume I can hide the way I am, however most of the time that's not the case. If you know enough about autism, you would probably be able to tell pretty quickly that I have it. I try my best to hide it, but that doesn't really work. It is painful to try to mask my symptoms but sometimes people don't care that it's painful and they expect me to act "normal" anyways. I don't think I'm currently getting the help I need in school because I'm not understood to need more help, and sometimes, I wish I was more obvious, like other kids at my school are, so it would be easier for me to get help. But deep down inside, I know if I was more obvious, I wouldn't be myself and I wouldn't belong the way I do. They Said I Was Special really represents this part of my life for me and it feels good to know I'm not alone. 3) Psychopath What can I say about Psychopath... it's not really something that would be considered "good" to relate to, but I do, and honestly, I'm not ashamed of that. I do have homicidal thoughts... quite frequently, and sometimes it's hard not to enact on them. I haven't ever enacted on them, but I really want to sometimes. Something as simple as a song describing your thoughts and feelings can be really helpful in situations like this. Having something beautiful, like music, describe me really calms me down when I feel that way or think about the times I have felt that way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm only 15, and I know it's not fair for someone my age to be experiencing what I do experience, but I've accepted the way I am and I deal with it the best I can. Your music helps me deal with it, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Thank you so much, Nomy, for everything you do to help me and people everywhere. Out of the new singles you have released, since "Be your Own God" came out, this song is my favorite. I just love the vocals man! There are these heavy parts and the lighter parts. The part where you yell "I though it was easy" at 3:57. Those kind of vocal performances is what keeps me coming back to your music even after listening to you for two years now. Can't wait for another album, but I know you're a parent now :) Keep making great music!
