At Rock Hill Farm and Homes we upload new videos at least 3 times per week, about our 20 Acre hobby farm, our John Deere 2038R compact tractor and other equipment, and the businesses that we run.
These businesses include a manufacturing operation, a Christmas tree farm, real estate investing, a lawn care business, and an online retail store. I demonstrate how I am able to use these ventures to earn a good living without a traditional job.
We have some cool toys and always think outside the box on our little homestead so come along for the ride.
You can expect new videos from us every other day, usually around 8 AM.

Thanks for the video. I have the same problem. Cheers
Muck Away and ther other Airmax products work great IMO. Been using them in a 1 acre farm pond the past couple years and it has really improved the water quality and overall appearance of the pond.
Thanks for sharing
I was very interested in the blue dye, glad u did this video…have a good one Brock! Can’t wait to see the blue water and the bridge in place..
It already looks good this morning
Try to have an update soon
Thanks for watching
@@RockhillfarmYT awesome buddy, gonna do the blue dye myself when it’s time..
Sometimes I get mixed up with which channel did what, but didn’t you dig a pond with your tractor?
@@RockhillfarmYT i did in the backyard,it doesn’t hold water so I started a new on in the front yard lol i know what u mean,i try to keep up with alot of channel’s and get mixed up myself..lol
Great job Brock
Thanks
I sure hope that muckaway works. I know that sludge feeling crap is a pain in the arse!!! 👍
If it works it will be slow. I may try to dig some of it out with the excavator
Thanks for watching
Hey Brock, glad to see you are tackling your lily pad issues with some Crystal Blue / Sanco products. I'd say give it 7-10 days on the Cattplex, depending on how strong you mixed it. Also with the sprayer you may want to try dialing down the spray pattern to a little larger droplets and hitting from the bank... The challenge with the boat is as you move the water it's possible you wash some of the chemical from the top of the lilies. This will likely take you a number of treatments but you should definitely see progress. On the dye, with the muddy water you may have to use extra... I used Muck Away a long time ago but be advised that muck control is an ongoing challenge not something that just disappears off of a single treatment... the container you have there would probably do a shoreline for a beach or dock... I use it all year every year and have used a variety of other products. Hard to get rid of it all and those dying lilies will also sink to the bottom and turn into decayed plants which in turns equals more muck... Keep me posted how it goes! - Josh
Thanks for the info
did the muck away stuff work at all?
I think you made a great choice to chemically treat that pond. I never heard of that muck away but I am very interested to see the results.
I’m really hoping that the herbicide works on the pond lilies as well. They are spreading so quick
@@RockhillfarmYT they are a hardy plant so it may take a couple of applications. I think it is really smart to get rid of the muck. That may also help control their growth in the future. I have feeling that this is going to eventually look great.

How did it work? (Muckaway)
Hey Brock, Maybe hire one of those low flying crop duster pilot's? Ha! Thought of installing a pond aerator?
I’m definitely doing an aerator. Just trying to decide if I wanna have it on a windmill or just an aerator
How well did this work, noticed it was 8 months ago. Just wondering
It removed 90% of them but they came back this year
You mentioned doing a follow-up video on the results? Did that happen? I was searching your playlists in the pond section but could not find any updates. Wanted to see how the products worked for ya. Thanks.
I can't find the video showing if it worked out not. Did it? I have a small pond that is filled with Lilly pads I'm needing to get rid of desperately.
This is kind of an older video and I don’t remember exactly what I did in this video.
What I can tell you is my pond was covered in lily pads and I got rid of them two years ago. Go to the farmers co-op and tell them you need to spray that will, kill the lily pads without hurting your fish or any animals that drink from the pond.
Worked great for me. Here’s a video you should watch about how I transformed my pond.

You need to get a waist-mounted bilge pump with two suction hoses to keep the water out of your boots. ( - :
Now we are talking
I'd give your routine an 8 out of 10. I took points off for the mount/dismount of the kayak. So is the Tidy Bowl looking stuff supposed to clear the water?
The Muckaway is supposed to clean it. The dye is purely aesthetic. People just like the water to look blue
Where do you guys come from state?
Kansas
Thanks for watching
Will it harm fish?
It does not
I use dawn dish soap as a surfactant. Works great! Much cheaper!
Thanks for sharing
@@RockhillfarmYT I am worried that you sprayed all those weeds at once. The decay from them dying all at once could cause a depletion of oxygen. That could kill your fish. I hope not. I feel bad I didn`t mention this in comments on earlier videos. Just didn`t think.
Yeah, I think the pond doesn’t have a whole lot of fish in it already.
We tried stocking it some last summer but they
haven’t been able to catch much of anything out of there
If I can get the lilies out and get some aeration on it we should have better luck stocking it in the spring
When I get the excavator again I will still probably drag out whatever I can reach from the bank
I see this was posted 8 months ago. Did killing all those plants at once cause issues? Id imagine all the decaying plants would have caused major swings in the natural balance in the pond
Spraying them killed about 90% of the lilies but if you don’t get them all they come back the next year which is what has happened.
When they died off it did probably head to the nutrient load and I had more algae this year than last year
Nothing too bad. I’ve got some recent fond update videos including the fact my dam is leaking on the backside
Why are you yelling?
This video is three years old from when I first started and it took me a little while to get the hang of it
The thought process… Which is still true… Is if I’m too loud, you can turn the volume down. If I’m too quiet, you can’t watch the video.
