Watching this video on leadership skills for project managers took me back to a volunteering experience I had with a community clean-up effort. We had a diverse group of volunteers, each with different ideas on how to tackle the task. One person stepped up, not as a designated leader but as someone who effortlessly brought everyone together. They didn't order or direct; instead, they motivated by example, picking up trash, praising others' efforts, and suggesting creative ways to make the process more efficient. This video captures those leadership qualities so well-being a role model, fostering teamwork, and inspiring others to contribute. It's a fantastic guide, not just for project managers but for anyone aspiring to lead effectively. Highly recommended for its simplicity and practical advice!
Great information and insights. Thanks so much for sharing Adriana. Having been an Engineer, Manager and now a Business Owner your tips relevant at every level. Too many project managers spend more time putting out fires , rather than calmly seeing the big picture ,understanding the strategy, followed by tactics which in short are the sequence of actions to achieve the end result which should be fluid.
Great summary of key skills needed for great leadership. Sharing the vision is definitely a motivator. Knowing the big picture of why you're doing your tasks and what you are working towards helps motivate a person especially when the tasks being performed are difficult in nature.
Hi Adriana, thanks for sharing this informative video and your experience with us. A Project Manager should have good leadership skills to motivate the team members and manage the project in successful way.
Hi Adriana! I work for my father's owner's representative firm and I'm always looking for productivity content specifically for owner's representatives. I heard in one of your videos that your background is in engineering - were you by chance a consulting owner's rep?
No...I worked in automotive and pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging as a process engineer and Lean Six Sigma Expert. I don't do engineering work anymore....just oversee projects and run my consulting firm. Feel free to check it out: www.CornerStoneDynamics.com
