I love Garage. Version 2.0 is one of my favorite albums of all time. However, to say "Why aren't we headlining festivals" is a little... off. When Garbage goes out on headlining tours, they usually do theater shows. Those shows often don't even sell out. I say this because I've been to a couple of them. For Festival headliners they're looking for acts who typically play ARENA gigs. Garbage is an iconic band and absolutely legendary, but to expect to be doing headline slots at festivals with their typical ticket sales is a bit of wishful thinking.
She DIDN'T say what you quoted. She asked "why are we not being asked to be in any of these festivals?" The women headlining festivals came from the interviewer and twisted your thoughts, which was probably intentional on their part.

Love Shirley Manson. Saw Garbage in concert last month. I am okay with her political views, but I'm not sure there's any evidence that women in charge of the world would be any better. Golda Meir was quite the vengeful hard-ass, for example.

A really smart charismatic woman who has done an excellent work with her band and is a great role model. Unfortunately, she now seems to have converted to the religion of identity politics. That's too bad. It is very good that women are increasingly taking their place in society. You can still advance into many industries and areas, and there will be change. There will be new perspectives, we won't be able to repeat the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s. But it is bad for the development of a society and to its detriment if changes and new perspectives are to be enforced by the diss of the "old white men". Shirley Manson and Garbage are an unusual talent higher echelons/ the kind of music I very much love. I also have trouble with the people in power, perhaps we all need to be more tactful when dealing with them
What do you think being more tactful with people in power would achieve? I used to naively think if I was polite & toed the line they would respect me; however more often than not people viewed it as weakness so took advantage or ignored me. Then I thought if I was deferential & even nicer they would grow empathy, take pity on me & help but that didn't work either. I am genuinely interested in your ideas.
