Ahhhhh! I feel myself desperately not wanting to covet your beautiful plants..I wish I could have this type of garden. Alas, in B.C. Canada; it's much too cold, I still have a bit of snow... I appreciate your videos and have propagated one inside succulent, will be continuing to follow your channel..🙏 Bless you!
It seems like it's hard to take care of echeverias. Beautiful but delicate in every way. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate it very much. Your video is very helpful.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Thank you so much. I will try to find out which ones I could grow cause the other ones I bought died on me but they said full sun but they still died on me.Anyway I appreciate the time for your respond.
Aww.. that last comment of keeping company from the hereafter. 😭😭😭 Ms. Liz, you are my spirit animal. I wish to grow tonnes of succs in the future when we finally have our own private garden (living in flat atm) I am starting from scratch, i bought plenty of leaf with different varieties. Can’t wait to seem them root and become mature plants a year from now 🥰🥰🥰
New subscriber here from the Motherland. You should really write a book. I've been keeping a notebook of useful info from my fave YT "teachers" and a lot of it is from you.
Very interesting information and thank you for sharing. I obtained this succulent on Sept. 2020 and until now I’m still waiting for pups, although in my You Tube and google research, none mentioned of the solitary habit( life style) of PVN. Now I know. I have propagated some leaves but they are so slow. You haven’t mentioned head chopping on PVN so I’m afraid to do it coz the stem may not produce babies! You certainly gave me something to consider when propagating this beautiful succulents. Thank you so much for this important information! You’re the guardian angel of succulent lovers like me, if you don’t mind me saying it. Thank you again!
I never bother with beheading a standard PVN but West Rainbow is a variegated form of PVN and I've had success with them. I've had many success with PVN leaf propagation. The ones I plucked in Autumn(4 to 5 months) has taken longer to germinate compare to the ones I've taken in Summer(a month).
I go crazy everytime I see ur video. 🥴🥴😍 They are so beautiful. I don't like succulents but after seeing ur videos, I have spent a lot buying them. 🥴🥴🥴
I have some of PVN too. My first PVN didn't do well so I plucked all the leaves and propagate it and I have like 10 babies now..they are 6 months old..but I just be headed the other one I bought in bunnings awhile ago, I hope it will survive. I have to do it since it fell and lots of leaves come off the Rosette don't look nice..
Congratulations on your babies! I've had a few plants that didn't do any good the first couple of months and I look at it as a blessing when caught early as they are a good reason to propagate and have babies fast. Otherwise, you'd just be left with just one plant for a couple of years.
Hi Liz, thanks for sharing. I love PVNs. I didn't know I have some until it turned purple and grew big while exposed in full sun every day that it caught my attention. Its now one of my faves. I need your help though, one of them the top rosette is turning wrinkly and soft. I can see that it's not happy.
Haven't had that happen to my PVN but had with other plants. I just normally cut it off in the hope of saving the top half and the bottom half growing babies.
Please thank you so much for explaining that. It's so hard for people to understand that even though it's the same succulent a lot of them have different looks. You and I may have the same plant but they can look totally different
This is the importance of labels. To keep track of what's what. I had many arguments with some people who can't accept the same plant looking different.
Janet I’m struggling with my PVN, she is confusing me 🥺, she gets hours and hours of direct sunlight yet the leaves are still curled upward, I’ve increased watering also as an attempt to help her, her leaves are still “soft”, not rotten though…I’m so confused 🤔
The bottom 2 rows of my PVN are turning down while the top 4 rows are facing up, is it a light problem. It gets 2 hrs of direct morning sun and plenty of light here in SA.
If the soil is dry, give it a good soak overnight preferably with a little bit of liquid seaweed; then give them more light. Most of my PVN gets a minimum of 6 hours direct light.
Greetings from Toronto ! I always love your beautiful succulents, so lush and thick, I wish I can take one of those babies. I just checked in our indoor store, one small succulents and its like $4.99 !
How much temperature at day time now in your region. Here it's very dry and 101 F at noon to last evening.Harsh sun. Spring ( dry) is going on and I put my Succulent in a shady place in my terrace. By the way if I put them under open sky and rain comes ...will they die , as Crassula ovata do ... because their soil mixture is leaf compost and vermicompost and pumice stone. In rainy season if I place under open sky they will be drench Thoroughly always because rainy season here is long . Please let me know what should I keep them , as they are now under shade not in full sun. It will too kind of you if you share me your experience with them.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Deb, In my experience, the most success is achieved by using the right soil mixture. My succulents have experienced 113°F and we also have frost. They have survived all these as I believed it is first due to my soil mix. Different genus of succulents will require different care and growing condition. I have so many videos that are full of information on different types of soil mix, different location (sun or shade), acclimatization, watering methods, specific plant care, and many more. Please take a look at my videos as the answer to your questions are all in my videos. May I suggest having a notepad to take note of all these information.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK my bf wallet is the only one that can blame me. Your collection is spectacular. Im so jealous! I just started mine in the summer
Five years now and some are slow growing and some grows really fast. For ex, PVN "can" take 4 to 5 months to germinate from a leaf. The plant itself doesn't grow very fast as well.
Hi Sherry, I'm in Canberra, Australia. A couple of years ago, we had record breaking drought. Now it's been raining on and off since last year. Thanks for watching.

Depends on the Echeveria Lyd. There are a lot of very hardy varieties and they can sometimes grow like weeds.

Hi Liz, does echeveria have a terminal flower? if so how do you distinguish it from usual flowering?
They vary from species to cultivars. Maybe my latest video will give you some idea.

How is PVN differs from Purple pearl and Harry Watsons? Thanks Maam Lizk🥹
Purple Pearl mutated from Perle von Nurnberg. x Graptoveria Harry Watson is a different looking plant and is a hybrid of Graptopetalum and Echeveria.
