I love these racks, nice and tight and stops people dropping the black on the spot over and over. Great review!
I like the storage feature where it just folds flat and is easily tucked away between games, no triangle hanging off the edge of the table or finding a stool to place it on.
What pen/marker do you use to freshen up your baulk line and and black spot? After brushing my 6811, they are faded....
I used to have a white pen but have lost it, but don’t remember the make I’m afraid. You can fine lots of them online though. A black sharpie is fine for black lines.
I noticed some time back and this is mostly with wooden racks. At the corner positions of the inside of the rack you will notice something. Both sides of the point ball position the wood becomes sticky slightly and pulls the ball off point. To fix this I carry a piece of fine grit sanding screen. I lightly hit the inside edges just enough to clean the foreign material away. Then when you rack and slide the rack forward it does not take the point ball with it.
It was at first seeming as if the ball (and could have been) just getting wedged between the two sides. However once cleaning and/or smoothing the surface it stops happening. I posit the idea of possibly cleaning the wooden rack entirely like this then using 0000 steel wool, with Johnson's paste wax and working a thin amount into the wood. Then with an old teri cloth towel buffing the wax completely super smooth. I know the balls won't stick to it anywhere and believe it will help prevent foreign material from sticking to it or at the least reduce it considerably.
I use the same process to prevent moisture rings on wooden furniture. Only I apply a heavier coat of wax. Coasters still will catch pooling condensation. However any moisture on the table (someone not using a coaster) or spilled liquid just pools on top of the wax.
So any nice tables in game rooms do not get damage from liquids and it's quick and easy to do or redo
My only issue with the Smart Rack is that your or others hands are touching the balls and will add sweat or tacky finger marks to the balls. Bit much to keep a pair of gloves with you?
I guess but then you have to pick up all the balls and put them in any rack anyway so not that different.
I think a slightly oversized wooden triangle is best, this seems like an expensive gimmick. I noticed the front ball still wanted to wander off 😅
Yep there's absolutely nothing wrong with a standard triangle but you do have to be a little more careful when lifting it up. The two sided ones do make removing it without disturbing the balls easier and whether it's worth the extra money is down to people's personal choice.
The front ball moving is nothing to do with the triangle, it is because I have a slight indent in the cloth where I've broke so many times. Unfortunately once you get this, it will do this with any sort of triangle if you are a fraction off with your alignment. The only way to fix that is a new cloth.

Don’t worry I didn’t take offence, i was just pointing out that the front ball moving doesn’t really have anything to do with the triangle. These review videos are just reviews and my thoughts on things and they’re not endorsements. Comments don’t always read as intended so sorry if I sounded short, didn’t mean too. Mines just arrived today so will be giving it a go this weekend hopefully, tho pub table has divots in the table which are really annoying 😖
Yeah little divots in the cloth can make it hard to get a decent rack with any triangle unfortunately. Hope you like your Smart Rack.

I would say the Pro Racker is still my most commonly used.

What function does the "racking cloth" ACTUALLY provide..... LOL
Every time you drop the balls onto the table you create little indents and wear on the cloth. If you don’t use one, this area of the table will wear, far quicker than the rest of the cloth.

The rack is way down the list on why racked balls won't get or stay tight.

Bro you could have done this video in half the time and obviously the paper they gave you is to copy the measurements not to trace 🤦🏻♂️
