- The level of legal migration in the UK is “far too high” and has “profound impacts” on the unity of the country, Robert Jenrick has said.
The immigration minister told the Commons he recognised the need to “take action” on the issue and suggested further measures could be announced “in due course”.
He was speaking during questions to Home Office ministers in the House of Commons, where he faced pressure from Tory backbenchers to bring down migration levels into the UK.
Julia Hartley-Brewer says the criticism against migrants is not because of their skin colour but because of low skill levels.

I worked in a factory in west Yorkshire in 2004 when poland joined the EU. There were already lots of pakistani and African workers and i was friends with them. When the poles and Eastern Europeans started there they told me how they would send money home. It didnt take a genius or 22 year old who mostly thought about women and bikes to realise this isnt going to work out in the long run. No hatred, just logic

Having considerable experience of the problem with non UK trained medical staff in the NHS, due to being my mums carer, I can fully confirm how serious the risk to patients is. The most common issue is language, on frequent occasions I just cannot comprehend what some non UK doctors and nurses are saying, and have to ask them to repeat what they have said, multiple times! And this means they probably don't fully understand what I'm saying either. I've also experienced non UK nurses, and doctors, carrying out procedures, getting into difficulty and having to ask , and sometimes being interrupted by, UK trained staff to assist. And his is when I've been there to observe, what happens during the time I'm not there, worries me greatly! My mum was admitted to hospital at the height of C19, not with the virus but due to an unrelated serious issue, she was discharged before being adequately treated, by a non UK doctor with a very belligerent attitude. Had I not been around for her when she arrived home and nursed her very attentively, she would not have been here now. Fortunately her white, British GP was extremely active in helping me and her recover. In fact I purposely changed her GP surgery to one where most of the doctors are white British to avoid this problem, good job I did. At least we can all understand each other and we don't have cultural differences to cause problems.

My parents live in a small fishing community. Opposite them lives an elderly housebound lady who is born and bred in this town. Early one morning a couple of weeks ago my dad was out with the dogs when he noticed 2 African men trying to get into the lady's key security box. My dad went over and asked them what they were doing. In very broken English they explained that they were carers for the lady and it was their first day with her. Obviously he checked their I.D. Imagine how that lady must have felt having them men in house on her own.

EU immigration had a positive effect on the UK economy because they were mostly young single people who came to work. Non-EU immigration has a negative effect because many of those who come have a poor education, are unskilled and have large families requiring schooling, healthcare and benefits.
The majority of Britain's immigration has always and still does come from the former Commonwealth and other countries from outside of Europe.

Such a simple solution. Will solve the problem, Migrants will pay tax and NI for Ten years + cost will be deducted from source ( hotel+ food etc ). After ten years they will have the opportunity to NHS and minor benefits. 30 years a retirement pension. Failure to find full time employment with in 3 months, will be deported. No family members allowed.
MPs should be worried. It's hitting home to new people who have to tell their daughters it's not safe to go to the town centre any more due to hotels being filled with migrants.

The NHS is rude now foreign Doctors talking to you like a burden on their day,iv been used to family Dr, now last time I saw a dr was 4 years ago and got a phone call from one to tell me at the end of the call id wasted 15 minutes of his good time,and hung up after being told by A and E to contact my dr LOL, scared to phone for appointment now 😭
It has to be, aanypne coming here for work, are not entiled to benifits/housing etc for atleast paying 5 years into the system £45k for outside London, £80K in London. As for the illegal DD's return them straight back to France, job done.

While a reasonable number of migration is good, an excessive number would ultimately be harmful. UK is a small country with limited resources. Migration not only causes housing crisis and pressure on the NHS but also other utilities like water, electricity, gas etc. For example, there may come a time when there would be water, electricity or gas shortage due to high demand and there may not be a 24 hour supply of these utilities. UK may need to adopt strategies in developing countries of limited water or electricity supply. More houses would mean less green spaces.

Ms Julia-Hartley Brewer's ignnorance is writ large. The competence levels of Indian doctors is surprisingly high. They graduate with much more clinical knowledge and experience. Most in India trust Indian doctors. Your information is outdated. She would be surprised at the number of persons from developed countries who come to India for medical treatment. She should go on a sabbatical and travel the world. Then she just might understand the extent to which Britainhas declined.The glory days of empire are long gone.It's a different worldout there, Julia.
They are basically misinformed, why can't they train their own doctors. They have taken all our highly skilled doctors from here in Nigeria that there is now a doctors shortage in the country.
