The history of the various incarnations of Ephesus is fascinating. From the ground of St John’s Basilica, another historic site in the area, ours showed us a view over what would have been the bay of Ephesus and its harbour when it was in its trading heyday. To think that the sea is now kilometres away after only 2,000 years is mind blowing. Hope you have a wonderful cruise!
