    Candace is talking about Tatyana Bakulchuk. Interestingly, Tatyana refers to herself commonly as a mother and entrepreneur, and her company started while she was on maternity leave from her teaching job. Pretty wild story how she came to be.

    You can have an argument with someone, talk it out and move on. Its ver possible. It’s life. The way most comments are saying oooo it’s tense, oooo it’s uncomfortable etc etc so are we saying we haven’t ever had serious arguments/debates/disagreements with some of our closest friends/family today? That we didn’t speak for days, etc but today we’re inseparable or we have a good working relationship etc? We’re acting as if when we have a disagreement with someone that’s it. We can’t ever be in the same room again without it being “tense” etc? I think it’s in our heads that they seem tense. It’s us who feel uncomfortable and projecting that on them. They are cool. That all sounds cute and cuddly, but it's kinda silly if we're all coming up with our definition for success.
      Then anyone is successful because they can define themselves as such.
      It will be the overwhelming common consensus that uber rich entrepreneurs (like musk) are the most successful people on the planet. Hence, it's a good metric to use in this case.

    • @AidiaP
      @AidiaP 2 місяці тому

      @@user-iu1ru1qz7u our lives are a sum of many aspects: relationships, spirituality, health, and professional/financial.
      I do not know Elon Musk's standing on the other aspects. But I would not consider him a successful person overall just because he's achieved success in one area.
      The same way I would not consider a person with a family, a fitness guru or a religious pastor successful without taking into account the other aspects of their lives.
      I understand your point, someone with just one aspect of their life figured out could just claim to be successful. But society in general takes just the monetary value to gauge the success of a person.
      My father focused all his energy in achieving his professional goals, and after he retired and finding himself with a strained relationship with most his children he relates how he wishes he had taken different decisions.
      I've met people that do not have mansions or luxury cars, yet they've manage to find balance and those are the ones I consider the most successful.

For example, Serena Williams, Marie Curie, Thatcher, Bader-Ginsberg, etc. Oprah and Taylor Swift are just entrenched in pop culture so are the first to come to mind, but it's a bit silly to reduce all of women's success based on that and to conclude women's talents are based on communication solely.

      Rafaela Aponte-Diamant is worth $29B odd. Her and her husband each own 50% share in their shipping company, which they started together. So, is her wealth is solely based on her husband or is her husbands wealth based on her? Of course you will say her husband, rather than they are both responsible for building their wealth. Much the same as Mackenzie Scott helped Bezos build Amazon. I think you have to give credit where credit is due to some of the women who helped their parents build themselves from scratch. Someone like Gina Rinehart, who yes, inherited her fathers company/wealth of $75m has gone on to further that and build an empire. Of coarse that’s a huge inheritance, but you can’t say she isn’t successful in her own right and how she’s conducted and grown her business for the past 30+ years. She is smart and a real business woman to do that.

      @@My-22-Cents There's more to this kind of success than intelligence and business acumen. Diane Savant set the Guinness record for IQ but stayed home be a wife and mother. I think Candace's point is that we haven't self-made female tycoons the likes of Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet, etc.

    I think success is most fulfilled with happiness. If you're happy and not stressing everyday about wanting to commit suicide or homicide, I believe that's a successful day. Kind of a dark take, but I did suffer from suicidal thoughts for over a decade everyday, and the for the last 5 years, that is not something that burdens me. What do I know? I'm just a dumb window washer, best job I've ever had in my life 😊

    Successful... The word by itself can be rather nebulous... Successful... at what? One of the great wonders of life is, arguably, jurisprudence... We are born trying to figure out what is right and wrong and hope we have the wisdom to follow through with the best choice when we realize it... So,,, "At what", becomes rather pertinent in this context... Do you chose, by default, making the most money? Or perhaps chose by having the most positive effect on society? A combination of both? It could be argued that, ultimately, it is the realm of the supernatural to determine what success is and who is the most successful... Being able to talk to god, in a rather direct manor, helps in that endeavor.. Alas, such a feat is beyond my pay grade... Historically, those who have been able to communicate with the divine in a rather direct manor have had "interesting" lives, even for the times they lived in... Eventually, you do realize... God is not here to do our "bidding"... It is quiet, succinctly so, the other way around... Good luck commander...

    2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

      She didn’t say anything that wasn’t true… women by and large do not care about being the richest in the world; they care about family, community and belonging infinitely more than any career. Some women are extremely materialistic, and expect their husbands or boyfriends or random guys to splurge hundreds of thousands of dollars on them, simply for being women… which is different, because they’re not willing (and perhaps not able intellectually or physically) to work hard for it themselves, they expect a man to foot the bill. That is the overwhelming vast majority of women - version 1 or version 2.
