@@ms.tipsy9314 Books aside, I'd ask you to start slow. Understand what Mutual Funds are. Invest into companies that are not in deep shit, and are solid fundamentally, and start an SIP (systematic investment plan). Check out Kuvera.in It's a really nice start for Mutual Fund investing.
Correction @8:13 . FD are tax exempted upto 1.5lac under sec 80c and the only income tax that you have to pay on it is on the interest part of the fd which is @10%.
This is a very good initiative as these topics are never discussed in school or college and most of the young chaps of my age are still unaware about all these. luckily me, being from a non-finance academic background, knew almost all of these and have seen friends struggling to understand simple exit load, let alone tax calculations. We need to spread awareness about managing money as most of our generation only knows how to spend it, and very little to save it.
