The GPD Pocket is the smallest laptop I've ever looked at. That said it runs a full Windows 10 installation. The keyboard (as expected) is cramped but the display is nice. It runs an Intel Atom processor so it isn't the most powerful thing in the world but you wouldn't be buying this laptop for processing power anyway. I see the GPD Pocket as a media consumption device primarily with light productivity capabilities. Either way, this is the first laptop I've ever put in my pocket.

In the early 2000's these kind of computers were actually a thing. Check out the Sony Vaip P, that thing runs Vista. Eminem probably had one of those back in the day. Look into UMPC's

Here's an example of one from the early 2000's an HP Jornada, like the 720.
I own some of these because i picked them up very cheap like 10 years ago.
They didn't do much since they ran Windows CE, and had a early mobile processor that wasn't X86 (206 MHz StrongARM) and 32mb of ram.
It was basically something you could write things in Microsoft Word, or attempt excel, or power point.
It also had a built in 56k modem so you could browse the web, unsure how well back in its day... today if you were to try the browser would be to out of date to display anything.
I'm kinda tempted to dig it out where ever I have had it sitting all these years.
But then there was the Vaio P which was tiny as fuck and ran a full x86 OS

Going beyond the RAM capacity and form factor, I'd probably go for the Surface laptop for the full usable keyboard and general all-round capability
Gabriel Dascălu actually if you want a cheaper equivalent to the surface laptop, i would recommend the lenovo yoga, you can get 8gb of ram and 128gb of storage, touchscreen and 360 degree folding screen. It's a great alternative

RetroWolfReviews USB-C thunderbolt 3.0 is the future. Once it becomes more utilized everyone will realize how amazing it is. Im not sure if you'd rather have 5 different cables that do different things or just 1 cable that can do all those 5 things.
just with taking out the headphone jack, people are used to doing that. This is still too early and instead of doing things out of the blue, apple should have done it gradually when other companies are more ready. Tell me how many people you see with bluetooth only headphones and don't use flashdrives.
I see many people with bluetooth headphones especially whenever I am at the gym. Although many still use wired headphones there has definitely been a significant increase in the demand and use for wireless headphones. As for flash drives, they're outdated but still many use them. Apple provides iCloud storage for a cheap $1 a month payment for 50GBs which is more secure, can be accessed through a web browser and doesn't require me to carry and extra accessory that I can easily misplace.
Dylan Brown but what about students? Most students give essays on USB sticks because they don't have printers. I don't think many schools use new macs and online storage and how is online storage more secure than a USB stick as I remember anything online can be hacked making it less secure

Well.. it is a quad core and 8 gb ram, and touch screen, and it's compact. TBH it's kinda worth it. It's got decent specs. You can definitely play games on that. Also 12 hrs battery life.

That device is a cool concept, but not worth $594. Heck, it's barely worth $200. For that price ($594) you can buy a pretty nicely powered and high-spec laptop. Or just buy a Chromebook for simpler use and boot Linux onto it... it's way overpriced. I'd say it'd be good if it was at $125 or something.
AT $200 I would probably buy one...But as it is I got a nice HP 14" notebook running win 10 for about $350, even at that level I got 8GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive... More than my desktop, and perect for pretty much anything I need to do.

Just get the Galaxy Book 10.6. It has better processor, better screen, comes with Windows 10, has very good keyboard and an active pen - perfect for school classes.

Those specs aren't earth shattering. Atom processors are terrible and mean this thing isn't going to do much more than a smartphone. Really not that impressive, and it'd be a waste of $500 if you need for anything more demanding than web browsing.

I used to own a 10" Eee PC. Before I bought I tried all three available screen sizes at the time - 7", 9" and 10" - and came to the conclusion that 7" was just too cramped for typing on and that extra inch made the 10" the best option for me.

Sure it's expensive and I haven't had a hands on experience with it but consider that there are phones that do lesser than the GPD WIN for a higher price. I think this tiny laptop is a good product in the right price tag. But over the years you can see it going down on price, only then it'll be a greater deal.

I honestly see no point in spending that much on something with an Atom processor. Yea, it's a quad core Atom, but that's equivalent to a weed wacker having a turbo. Great idea, but WAY over priced! Lenovo Yoga 710 11.6 with quad core Pentium and 128 SSD, just under $500.

This Laptop runs a 1,6 Ghz 4 Core Soc chip.
They are not really good at providing calculation power. If you're running a 64 bit Os (wich it needs to make use of the 8gb ram) it gets even worse.
On top of that the integraded Graphics Unit has probably really slow memory, since it has to make use of the System ram.
This Laptop should be just fine for regular browsing. But everything beyond this will mostly be a bad experience.
The streng of this laptop isn't power, but rather that you can have an actual Pc on the go rather than a Smartphone or Tablet.

Although it runs at 1.6 ghz as its base frequency, it can burst up to 2.56ghz. It also uses the fairly new Intel HD Graphics 405 chipset, which can even run games like Fallout 4 without many issues on low settings, although with more CPU power. For something like Minecraft, it would run just fine. Wouldn't be bad at all. I've ran minecraft on an old ~1ghz dual core laptop before, and although it was slow, it was very playable. Intel HD graphics aren't bad at all for most games nowadays. Also, a 64 bit OS doesn't use more processing power. Don't know why you'd think that. 8GB of ram is plenty, and the onboard ram is more than fast enough for most games that aren't new AAA releases, when it comes to graphics.

That's why I love outdoor sports clothes, like my old cotton wax coat and padded gilet: a single pocket holds A5 bird spotter's book, 1 L bottle of water, gloves, snacks for the dogs and a bowl for the water. Putting one of these laptops in and nobody would even notice; I would have to pat the pocket to make sure it's there. : )

I think Linus said it best when he said that it's best used as a work station. You bring it with you so you can use it as a desktop (using an external monitor and USB adapters) and then if needed, you could use the keyboard on the device

1.- Sony VAIO did this almost a decade ago with their P series.
2.- It looks like a mini MacBook Pro. When are tech companies going to stop copying Apple?
