Another great video, Cissy taking the “road less travelled” and Werner chickening out - had me smiling 😊 You guys are having loads of fun, that makes the adventures more enjoyable. I really enjoy watching your vids - that South African twang brings back memories and it wants to make me come back home again. Thanks guys keep them camera’s rolling- love it! 👏👏
Same here. This does not look good. As they’ve gone further north, I’ve gotten more & more curious about which route they were going to take, & now……..nothing
I was also following their trip but all of a sudden there's no updates on their videos. It's a worrying matter this one. I hope they are well and they just wanna finish the trip and upload the videos.
Sorry everyone! We have been forced to return to SA due to financial issues and have been working ever since. This is the first time we are back online on this channel since the last upload. There are still about 5 episodes that we need to edit, but we haven't gotten to it yet...
Sorry Pierre, we had to stop traveling and return to SA. Finances and work unfortunately... we haven't had time to edit and this is the first time we are back online on this channel! Not sure what the future is going to bring, but we will see!
Loved the Grootberg pass. I would have bought a papsak of wine at the Savemor and used it as a liner for the Desert Fox . Might have had a little bit of a hangover as a bonus prize:)
We already have 2 papsaks that we use as water bladders! But we have not yet needed the extra fuel during the whole time we are in Namibia and we won’t need it now either. So we just carry on without it 😁👍🏻.
I blow a 20 liters plastic petrol can once because of temperature changes, filled it during a cold winter day here in Norway, then suddenly we got a few days with 18 Celsius, a change of nearly 30 degrees. 10 liters of petrol lost... Fuel bladders I never fill more than 2/3 to 3/4 full so that the petrol can expand... --- Another great video... I remember the first videos you posted... how you struggled with sand and gravel... and look at you now, just goes head on... 🙂
Thank you so much! We definitely came a long way. 2 years ago when we left we both were beginner riders, still don't think we are the most experienced! But our motto is to just keep going forward in a pace we are both comfortable with. Even slow, you can still have adventures (and actually see so much more)
That Mama with the whip at the Savemor in Kamanjab had me laughing out loud. NOBODY challenged her authority 😂. Great video guys. My guess now is you’re heading for Grootfontein, Rundu & Katima Mulilo. Let’s see if I’m correct.
We had a good laugh about that as well. There were some warnings about that petrol station, they seemed to have targeted tourist there regularly. I think the owners of the petrol station but this very competent lady in charge of making sure nobody is being bothered. We felt very safe 👍🏻🤣. With the direction.. you are partly right! Which part I will leave a secret for now
Wow the areas just get more and more beautiful. Nice ride, well done in the sandy patches 🏆Thanks again to Cissy for the Geography lesson on the tribes, she is actually getting pretty good at it now😂👍
You can actually see which direction the elephant is going. It has ‘toes’ in the front that leave marks in ‘softish’ ground. Another way that we used to tell direction is the smooth area at the heel (the bottom of their feet are cracked, but the heel is smooth). You can also actually distinguish individuals from their tracks in the right soil, their cracks on the bottom of their feet is like a fingerprint (graduated ecologist here🙈🤣)
Sorry for the late reply! We unfortunately had to stop traveling and haven't had the time to edit the remaining videos. Work and finances catches up at some stage!

We are all good! Sorry for responding so late, this is the first time being back online on this channel since our last upload. We had to stop travelling and return back to SA for unexpected work and financial reasons. Busy ever since, not sure what the future will hold, but we will see. But we are both ok!
Thank you for reaching out. Totally understand. I hate that four letter word WORK. Happy to be retired. Anyway, you are a lovely couple and you afford us the opportunity to experience a far away land from our Utah home. Hopefully, we will get an occasional video and you can keep us, your fans, updated. That petrol bladder rupturing is not good. Could have been a catastrophe. If I were you would take it up with the suppliers. Great riding through the thick sand. Beautiful mountain pass.
The landscape looks a lot like Arizona. Speaking of Arizona, when are you coming to explore the USA? (You enquired on one of my Facebook groups a while back. That is how I discovered your UA-cam channel).
@@thetravelingtortoises well, I hope you do. I highly recommend touring our National Parks out west. I just motorcycled thru Yellowstone National Park. Where I live in Utah there is plenty of dispersed camping in our mountains. There are many adventure motorcyclists.
Thank you for riding along with us! We have both been using the Anakee Wilds in Namibia but they are not the best in the sand. They do the job but does give a “washing out” feeling in the soft stuff. The 390 has been using them now for over 20 000km’s and the 890 now for 6000km’s.
We are indeed not the best riders! But that makes it an even more interesting adventure! Unfortunately we had to stop for now because the money ran out...

Luckily our bags are waterproof and apparently also petrol proof 👍🏻😁 after washing everything there is just some petrol smell that just needs to wear off, the rest is all fine!
