ABOUT SANFORD AND SON:
The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

I loved how John Amos just ratted Fred out 🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂🤣😂
Lena Horne was so beautifull
You're right.
That was Fred’s girl!
Too pretty for fred Sanford or red fooxx
@@lloydkline1518 , girls are not as concerned about a guy's looks as they are about who he is as a person.
You can say that again!!!
This episode never gets old! Fred came up with a good explanation! Lol! Lena Horne was so beautiful! RIP to both Legends! 🙏🙏
Lamont's first heart attack! The best line was when Lena took the money from Fred and lamont said,"Where's YOUR $15,Pop?"..LOL!
😂😂😂
Yeah Fred was doing some fast talking he got outta that jam it was so funny Lamont said wait ms Horne I got some more money to donate
He needs to remember that snitches get stitches
I missed these type of shows. Nothing but good memories.
Those were the days of laughing out loud and good tv.
The show didn't need a laugh track because the show was naturally funny.
Lena's voice was so smooth, whether she was singing or speaking!
That kiss as well as the Sammy Davis jr. kiss on Archie Bunker were two of the biggest moments in sitcom history
One of the Best Black female entertainers of all time, Lena Horne is a classic.
Happy birthday to Lena Horne, born 104 years ago today on June 30, 1917. Lena Horne and Susan Hayward both were born June 30, 1917.
Singer , dancer , actress and activist, Ms Lena Horne was our champ. our hero, and our Star!!!
John Amos on Sanford and Son before Good Times
He played Luther in this episode
@@rice_goat80 -- He actually showed up on Maude as well as it was the pilot for Good TImes since Florida worked for Maude Findley.
Willona from good times also appeared on Sanford and son.
Wilona also played on an episode and Woodrow was also ned the wino
John Amos played Gordy on the Mary Tyler Moore show before Good Times as well!!!!
Fred's whole life was made in that ONE kiss from the gorgeous Lena Horne😍😍
Redd foxx and Lena horne had been good friends for many years.
Yes think he liked that
@@judewilliams6750 Who in the blue hell would not? Lena was a naturally beauty.

Not me! Getting kissed by a jogger should come with a hazard warning.
Man, she was some kind of beautiful and such a great artist! It was funny to see Lamont have his first heart attack. 😂 😂
Wit a Mustache lmfao
I know. 😆
You should have seen Lena in her prime. I would have loved 😍 to have seen her as well.
Your son is ready to join ya with a mustache
Lena Horn was wonderful and the fact that Fred could finally meet her!!! This was one of the best episodes of one of the greatest shows ever! You could always find great hijinx and a lot of laughter!!
Fred's face when Lamont asked, where's your $15 Pops, lol!!! He was gonna try to stiff the Horne!!!
Correction, he got stiff after kissing Lena Horne
He wanted to give her the “ stiff “ all right .😂
Lena: You told me he was lame!
Fred: Well, you don't have to be lame in the legs! You can be lame somewhere else! 😂
👍
@cari, wow that's awesome ❣️
Fred was quick. He had a comeback for everything
Yeah, we heard it.
Lame in the head! OMG 😂😂 LOLOL
My old man loved this show, and so do I.
Wow! This made me both happy and sad!
Happy, because all of the people I loved the most were alive and well when this episode aired. I can hear and see my grandmother, standing over the stove smoking a cigarette while her father, her sister and brothers, waited to eat while watching “Sanford and Son”laughing and grinning from ear to ear.
Sad, because all of them are ancestors now, and the memories are so vivid that just for a moment, they’re still here.
They're all in Hell now.
I understand that. TV used to bring families together. Now everyone watches their own thing. Back then most families had one TV. Now there is one in every room.
@@Biggdoom344
You’re absolutely positively correct!
That's a beautiful memory and story.
We are fortunate that there are still cable TV channels that show these syndicated reruns, This was one of many back in the 70s that are 10x better than anything on now.
At 2:00 when she says "this is lamont?"Little laaaaaaaame Lamont" it cracks me up every time
Man I haven't laughed so hard. This was priceless.
To think Lena was in her early 50s in this clip, and still was as fine as wine.
I still wish Lena and Dorthy Dandridge could have gotten together and did a movie around 1950ish
She was 50 in this clip!!?
@@curtismichael4703 52
True. She was 55 at the time. Such a beautiful, classy lady. Redd was awestruck for real. Because he wasn't expecting the kiss.
@@Pro1er Incorrect. Lena Horne was 55 at the time.
She quite possibly is the best looking woman I've ever seen at 55. Even at 55 she could have given any 20-30ish woman a run for their money. This was around 1972-73 so she would have been in the Pam Grier, Judy Pace, Freda Payne, Denise Nicholas period .
"The Horne!... She was standing right here, and she gave me one across the lips!" Love it! Rest In Peace, Lena Horne, and Redd Foxx.
RIP everyone except John and Demond!
“You could be lame somewhere else” 😆😂😂😂😂
My number 1 show of all time.
Yo yo yo yo
I gotta smoke a blunt b4 i watch Sanford and son
Lamont: "So you want her all to yourself, huh?"
Fred (smiling): "That's right... A man and his 'Horne'".
Yeah, we heard it.
@@20alphabet .. Oh really? You say, "Yeah, we heard it"?
Then, can you tell me where was that line in this video clip, sir? No one "heard it" here. People typically quote their favorite lines _IN THE EPISODE_ . Not just what's shown on UA-cam. Thank you, sir.
Loved the way Fred called Lena baby over and over again. It was so cute. Lol
This whole episode is legendary! The show was a historical masterpiece but this episode here was one very close to my heart! Love it so so much I want to know every line and I'm only in my 20s. Lena Horne was so sexy here without trying. Geez I wish they had the whole episode posted up on UA-cam.
Lamont had me weak when he ran after her😂
Lena didn't lie to me
Lena would never lie to me
Lena couldn't lie to me
Why'd you lie to me Lena
Yeah, we heard it.

Let me tell you: “Sanford And Son” is so hilarious and with so much dialogue,it could very well pass as a radio show!

Lena gave Fred one across the lips😂
Leona Horne too pretty for fred Sanford or redd foxx
Lena Horne R.I.P.

Ms. Horne was a beauty queen all the days of her life... RIP 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Little Lamont... 🤣😝😅😆
That kiss cost Fred $90. I bet it was worth it.
Best $15 Fred ever spent.
Lamont's first big one
Lamont: Where's your fifteen pops
Fred facial expressions had me cry laughing.
What a classy lady!😍😘
Now those were the good old days 🥰
Didn't know John Amos made an appearance on this show
This was before good times was on the air.
It’s more than interesting that he portrays an older gentleman here but was actually only in his thirties at this point in his life!
😆😆😆😆Ready Freddy and the Horn
Ready Freddy wasn't too steady after that kiss!!!!
Lena Horne gave him one across the lips!!😂🤣😆
No words, The Horn.

John Amos is timeless
Literally!!!

Lena should thank FRED.....I am sure she sold a lot of albums because of Fred always talking about her on the show and then in re-runs.
Lamont: Where's YOUR 15 POP?
LOL
I saw this episode before and never realize that Good times James Evans appeared on Sanford and Son.James got to meet Lena Horns.
Ya hear that ma!! I'm coming to join ya!!!!
I so miss this kind of innocent fun, before TV became rancid, pandering, Sodom and Gomorrah.

You are absolutely correct.
TV today is shit, to say the least, showing Condon commercials early in the evening when the kids are still up and watching tv so shameful times we're
