Thank you for taking the time to share your talent & knowledge! My mother's best friend taught me to sew 45 years ago. I honor her, as well as every other person who took the time to teach me things, by teaching others how to sew, crochet, knit, quilt, etc. It's a blessing to share our knowledge with others! For as much as I think I'm skilled at sewing, I've learned lots of new tips and tricks watching your videos. Your explanations are clear, easy to follow, and simply brilliant in saving time! Thank you!

I don't really know if my hobby is collecting fabric or sewing. I'm afraid I'll never sew as fast as I buy new fabric. 😖Batch sewing is the only way to keep the piles from growing higher and higher and your videos are very helpful in making it more effective and finding inspiration. You are a brilliant teacher.
    Thank you, Christine.

Shari Lewis, oh my I loved watching her as a child. She, made a second try when my daughter was little and she adored the show so much she slept with a lamb. 😅❤ What it really was, is the stuffed animal used to sell fabric softener sheets! It looked close enough. So much so, my daughter caught me tossing it in the dryer. Oh dear, the scream could have broken glass. I wasn't sure what the problem was at first. I had to come up with some quick thinking that day! But, all was right with the world by nap time, with a clean fresh lamb to cuddle with. ❤😊 We just moved a few weeks ago, and guess who I found? All safe and sound was lamb chop. It's a small world 😊

I found you last year and absolutely love your show and the time you spend with us. Thank you for being so open with all of your costs and how to make what we sew profitable. I've been doing craft shows for years and realized I was not really charging what I should have for the time spent. Your setup before sewing, having everything ready was very enlightening. Thank you again for sharing with us. Trish

It is a relief to know that even you make mistakes once in a while! I think this video demonstrates how dreary it is for anyone trying to recoup a solid profit from sewing. This is not a criticism. I love your product, but it was clear, and you made it clear, that by the end it was an endurance test for you, A marathon. Not fun. I think I cannot get enthused about batch sewing. Too much like machine production. That last bag with the off cuts is the sort of thing I make all the time. You are so very honest. Thank you for this.

I love how you explained your “rate” per hour and what all is included in that. And sewing in bulk can be a bit tedious, but for me, having worked in a sewing factory, when I can focus on one task at a time, I can finish that task faster. I have not made your bags in bulk, but that is my plan for the future. Still in the process of getting everything set up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Totally off target comment, but had to post this; several years ago my husband & I spent a bit over a week exploring the south island (I’m assuming you may be in NZ because your accent is just like a dear friend’s, although she lives in Melbourne now). Anyway! After our road trip we flew up to Auckland and got on a cruise that was going to circumvent NZ and end up in Sydney. On our first port. - Tauranga - we took a trip to see the Hobbits. I took a tumble and broke every bone in my right ankle. I then spent a week+ in the hospital there, and once the swelling went down enough, they put a plate and many screws in my ankle. The doctor/surgeon (who was absolutely fabulous) would not give me permission to fly back to the states until the stitches were out. When it was finally OK for me to travel again, the discharge instructions mandated that I fly first/business class & have someone with me (my husband, of course!). So. Business class on Air New Zealand from Auckland to Los Angeles, and first class back to NY. The best part is that the whole adventure was almost free due to NZ’s health plan. I am beyond grateful for that!! All this to say I have sympathy for your son on the couch! I hope he mends quickly 😊 And thank you for your videos - they are always inspirational!

Your videos are ALWAYS extremely helpful and I enjoy - and learn from! - what I’m sure you consider “waffling” as well! So please keep on just as you are. I think your pay rate should definitely tick up a couple notches, when you do that calculation. Also, I think if you love that bag, you should keep it! (Another option for items you love but don’t necessarily want to keep would be to donate the occasional one-off to charities you care about, for them to auction off online or in conjunction with a fund-raiser or what have you.) Cheers to you & yours from Boston, and I hope your son’s leg heals beautifully and quick as a cricket.

The fabrics have been given to you for free , but that doesn't change the fact that ,at the end of the financial year, the tax man would charge you for every earned penny .so in reality the fabrics are not for free . Splendid teaching job as always , it is a real treat to watch you working on your projects . Clear , precise , on point . The bags , I love them all , small " ugly" but not so ugly at all pouches included 😁. Massive project , time wise but it looks like you managed to squeeze the labour hours to minimum . I am thinking if it is an idea for a video, to explain which patterns is for which pouches - how the patterns looks like with the out cuts for the corners - if it's only four corners or more and how the out cuts has an influence on how the finished product will look like. Berit, have you seen the video I did on boxed corners? I make 4 bags from same size fabric, and have different boxed corners showing 4 different outcomes. Here's a link to two videos I've done on the subject. 😁

Wow Christine! Well done! I can imagine what a relief it must have been to get that done. Those bags looks a amazing! I think it was a good idea to do the small boxes on the small bags, makes them look more balanced.
It would be very interesting to get to know that is written on your paper labels, how you put them together. I'm hoping to start to sell my own sewn things but I think it's so hard with tags and labels. ♥

@liletteautrey8481 I don't think it's ever easy to sell, but I'm fortunate that I have lots of other things happening in my junk store. I also do alterations at work, so I don't have to focus on just selling my bags.
It used to hurt listening to comments by people saying they could make this or that, and cheaper, but learned to ignore them as they were never a going to buy.
I also put my prices up instead of down to attract a different clientele and have blurbs around the store about my products. I think that has been the biggest driver of my sales.

I love the fact that you seek to find fabric destined for the trash and give it a second chance for use. I think we who make things at the sewing machine tend to focus on features we don't like, or little quirks in our projects that nag at us. I think we should avoid this. While I will discuss technique among trusted friends (like what could I have done better) , I don't point out what nags me (or what we consider 'ugly'). Someone else might just love your little bags, quirks and all.
