As depressing as this is to see, thank you for filming. My Granddad Kaye was one of the last residents to leave. My Grandmother passed there a few years earlier. She was of the Ingmans, who grew up in the Quarry hill flats! Have many pleasant memories of those Highways stairwells, either racing my brother up or down them. And happiest memories of visits with tea and biscuits, watching trains and foxcubs, even as an adult lol. Residents were lovely and quite a wholesome community. Very sad to see them go.
All residents seemed to be nice the ones that i met when i was working in the block its such a shame the blocks have to go as theres a lot of other blocks not due for demo where the tenants are not so good,
all blocks on this area earmarked for demolition, the wasteland nextdoor is to be cleared too & it didnt look like that 2 years ago i couldnt get in them also they had active cameras all the way round them
All 3 blocks now stripped out fully ready for demolition, over the last 3 years though i have taken quite a lot of pics from inside and outside the buildings and shows a decline from when only a few flats were empty and the blocks still in good condition to 1 person left and very vandalised

Wish you went inside the flats tho ???
That is inside the flats
I thought they would have took the lifts out it looks like they were simply turned off as they were
Lifts left in and now completely destroyed, just like they did 20 years ago in other blocks demolished and those lifts were only a few years old
