i'm going to make a bunch of these! my mom got home from rehab center a week ago (after having a second stroke), so i know the wheelchair walk, and these socks are really needed....Scott is looking great. i'm so glad he is on the mend
Thank you. SO sorry to hear about your mom :( I hope she continues to improve. That wheelchair walk, I didn't realize until the therapist spelled out what it was actually working on. He laughed at some of them, but also refused to wear the 1D socks to therapy hahahaha I had to draw over them so they'd be usable.
I ordered the cutest slippers ever on Amazon and asked them if I could return them because they were extremely slippery and due to a car accident I can't have slippery right now.. I read this and am happy that I get to keep those cuties and they will be safe :) Thank you for sharing this! Bless your brother and hoping all is well with him.. He's a handsome guy.. Wishing the best for you and your family.. :) Thanks again.. :)
Oh Beth these are perfect !!! Scott looks like he loves them too. Tell him we are still praying and expecting FULL recovery. Won't settle for less. :-) Much love and hugs to you both. You are THE BEST Sister !!!
Thanks for sharing! I ordered Miami Dolphin socks for my brother-in-law and painted the bottoms today with black zig zags and dots. I especially appreciated the tip about making a cardboard template. Can't wait to give them to him!
Such a great idea. Thanks for uploading this video Beth and also thanks for the tip about the dryer I live in an apartment and definetly don't want to ruin the dryer.
Thank you so much for posting this great video. Things always seem so hard until you find people like you who have the knack. So pleased your brother is doing well. *bless*
LOL, nope. It is an inside joke between him and his friends..but it actually started from a video that I have only half way finished. I really need to complete it.
I love your video, I was looking for something rubbery to spray or draw at the bottom of slippers I gave a friend for Christmas who is recovering, but the slippers are not socks , they are like shoes you wear them only indoors, my friend likes them but they are very slippery, what do you recommend I should use, fabric paint or something else?
Awesome, I'm going to try this as I have some spare fabric paint laying around my house from something I did last year. I hope it works as trampoline grip socks but I'll just try it and see.
Not to be rude, but I heard silicone that you can buy most anywhere works better than fabric paint because it holds up better to water (wash) and heat (dryer) Also silicone most silicone dries clear and flexible, therefore it doesn't eventually crack like fabric and puffy paint. Just FYI.
thank you this is a very good idea. i have a mom who has a problem with slipping and I think this would be a great supplemental idea to help with prevention.
Hi I love this idea. I have been looking for non slip sock for my old collie dog. His back legs can't cope with the tiled floors. I shall buy some baby socks and get some fabric paint. I hope your brother likes his new socks. X
He loved them! :) He is now almost next to fully recovered and hopefully heading back to work next month. A true miracle. I hope these work well for your fur baby.
I'm doing this to my girls socks! :) One is turning two years soon, and is born with club feet, so non slip socks is best to use for her, because it's a little hard for her to walk. And my other girl is soon 8 months, so she will start walking in a couple of months, so non slip socks is a must! :)
Awesome idea! Scott looks really great. Dont forget to do some thing nice for you or Scott will have to take care of you when he gets home! God Bless You and Yours
Just FYI... I know from experience that Tulip fabric paint is, in fact, dryer safe. Just so that you (and anyone else who uses Tulip fabric paint) know that you can dry your creations. 😊😉
This is awesome. My 3 yr old grandson has a broken leg and a full cast. While he can walk with it he needs gripper socks to keep from slipping and falling and dang those socks are expensive. He wears through the hospital socks in a week.
Don't get me wrong, I love your cooking videos, but it's the crafting ones that made me subscribe. U can imagine how excited I was to see one uploaded from u! I just love ur ideas... I hope we get another one soon. Please give Scott my best and let him know that we're all here rooting for him. PS: he looked awesome in the socks... great job! :)
Thanks! I am hoping next week to do a VERY BELATED Valentine's day craft. UGH. It's one I have wanted to do since December... then things got really crazy. So I don't care that it is past the day, I am still going to do it :)
Well, I certainly understand, considering everything that you've been through. I just appreciate u uploading anything with everything that u've got on ur plate right now. A Valentine's craft does sound super exciting, though... can't wait! :)
+Barb Samuelson +Stephanie Sanchez I'm not familiar with the types of fabric paint she's using but I'd let the dots or squiggles set for awhile and then flatten them with a gloved finger. Just a suggestion.
Thanks so much! This is great, I need some for myself and kids cuz our home floors are like iceskating ring :) I am not sure where to look for paint like that... Would Walmart have it? Or I need a trip to Michaels?
I used Viva ABS sock top on slippers I crocheted... I find the paint hurts the bottom of the foot....It's not comfortable...Is there a more comfortable paint that you can't fell?
Love those! I want 2 make some 4 me b/c I wear socks instead of slippers :) You're a GR8 sister & your bro looks so happy w/his Cool new socks :) Just wondering, after the design dries why do they have to be washed again?
Ha! I think I could get both feet in one of Scott's shoes. He's a big boy. LOL Interesting concept. So these fabric paints are like a rubberized material? It looks pretty effective, and I'm sure it's a *whole* lot cheaper than those specialty socks. He's looking pretty good in the photos, like he's been gaining a lot of ground.
Thanks for this well-made tutorial; it is a lot easier on the eyes than some of the more amateurish youtube how-tos out there. Thumbs up. Also lol at the drag-racing sperm design on the bottom of the sock.
You can’t use this on babies socks because it’s toxic and they may put it in their mouth. I saw a video of a man making the same non-slip but for children. He used Dap clear something. Sorry I can’t remember. But he did say it was NOT toxic. Hope that helps.
Once I get a real paying job I will be making these and donating them to rehab and children’s hospitals to give kids cute socks that are still non slip and fit those tiny feet. And adults who need them to fit and may like a little bit of pizazz
Syeda HB It is completely different. It dries crusty, especially on fabric. I would definitely advise against it. Acrylic paints will not help to prevent falls and slips in the least.
Thank you so much for this! I looked everywhere and can’t find non-skid diabetic socks like they have in the hospital. The only place is on Amazon for $42 for a pack of 12 with a $20 delivery charge. Tonight I’ll go to Walmart to buy fabric paint! My 91 year old dad gets home from the hospital tomorrow. Thanks again 😃😃😃
Since this is for diabetics - go very easy on the thickness of the paint, because we noticed when we went a little crazy and made some dots a little too thick, they did bother the feet a little. And I know from experience, that you don't want to jeopardize diabetic feet! Happy Thanksgiving!
so happy to see this tutorial for non skid socks, slippers etc. I have been wanting to try and crochet slippers but was concerned about them being slippery. This was a huge help. Thanks so much.💖
The socks aren't that expensive and easy to steal but do you have any silicone paint you can get marked down to something and then buy them for the cheaper price at the end of the shift, as they're expensive? Saying a fantom shitter has been at them always gets anything marked down, or 'an old lady cam in who was a bit special and she smelled and... Happy thieving from across the pond!
@@CookingAndCrafting I pulled them off! Haha, now I'm a silent ninja and can spin like a ballet dancer in sweet silence. Nice tutorial though! Very cute

Those socks are such a great idea and they look good on Scott!
He got such a charge out of them!
This would be great for toddlers, too! Great project, Beth!
You made this so easy! Thank you. It's great the way you make these special for your brother.
How cool i love it , thanks Beth .
this is such a great idea. sometimes those hospital socks are too loose and all over the place. such a good sister you are.
Thank you so much for posting this great video. Things always seem so hard until you find people like you who have the knack. So pleased your brother is doing well. *bless*

How cool Beth! Love these and I have floor boards here I'm forever slipping and sliding and so is the cat LOL maybe the cat needs some too
Scot is looking great! Very racey in his non skid socks. :0)

Thats such a wonderful, creative idea Beth and TY for sharing. I'm happy to see Scott is looking way better!
This is brill!
I am new to UA-cam. I just started doing dyi crafts. Did you have to machine wash inside out after 72 hours .
Hi thanks for the video. where can I find this liquid and what is it called?
Don't you need to keep the dots flatter and more even so it doesn't hurt to walk on them?
+Barb Samuelson Thought the same thing!
+Barb Samuelson +Stephanie Sanchez I'm not familiar with the types of fabric paint she's using but I'd let the dots or squiggles set for awhile and then flatten them with a gloved finger. Just a suggestion.
Barb Samuelson Hot glue hurts, but fabric paint is more flexible and doesn't hurt so much.
And here I'm thinking why do they even need this on their socks
Genius!!! ;-) ... I completely understand how the hospital footies suck!
Thanks for the video. I made a pair of slippers.
Sandy
Will this paint work on felt?
does this work using any silicone sealant?
Thanks so much! This is great, I need some for myself and kids cuz our home floors are like iceskating ring :) I am not sure where to look for paint like that... Would Walmart have it? Or I need a trip to Michaels?
They should have it at Walmart. They will definitely have it at MIchaels.
erica oneil thank you :)
Yes, Walmart has them. That is where I got mine!
***** thank you :)

Do u know if they work with slippers?

LOL!
I use them at the hospital when my feet get really cold. :)
Cool
can i not use acrylic paint?

lol I need this because my mom just hurt her back from falling and hitting the table
So it’s just fabric paint no glue
You will have to let us know how they work out for Scott.
They work like a charm and he uses them whenever he is in the chair!
CookingAndCrafting AFTER SOCKS DRY,TURN THEM INSIDE OUT.THEN PUT THEM IN THE DRYER
I did this when Logan was learning how to walk. there was never any cute boy no slip socks.
Making non Slip Socks
Make non stick slippers
Actually you can use glue gun to make it because the glue gun is more stronger so dislike.
KEEP CALM AND FOOTBALL Glue hardens more when dry, so it hurts more to walk on. So, dislike your comment.
Also, can't put in the dryer, cuz glue could melt. Also the glue is too hard and dry to really make a NON-SLIP GRIP.
How do you get the grips off, trying to be quiet at night and mine make too much noise
I guess you throw them away.
@@CookingAndCrafting I pulled them off! Haha, now I'm a silent ninja and can spin like a ballet dancer in sweet silence. Nice tutorial though! Very cute
