As soon as I heard the grandma joke's punchline, I immediately thought, "That's Scollins."
I honestly think Covid has been good for Seth. We’ve had this strange closeness. Seth NAILED that period and instead of being weird and distant made things more intimate, opened the door and let us see behind the curtain - mixaphorically speaking.
It made the audience more intense, created an “in-group” and private jokes and a real sense of community.
What’s most impressive is that I don’t even think it was deliberate. I think it was natural and organic. Good writers, charismatic delivery, and somehow he fused that big prime-time show with the fanbase of a UA-cam channel. It’s genuinely impressive.

I mean, other late night hosts were able to do it to a similar extent, but I really feel like he maintained that more personal energy after the lockdown ended whereas some other hosts went back to a more normal energy.
Yeah. Seth became unhinged, but that just means he took the door off and decided to be more relaxed, which involved a lot of simple humor and a metric f***-ton of new impressions. We got the Sea Captain, and many recurring bits, as well as Corrections. Sometimes the silly stuff is the most fun. _thinks back to the early days of Conan_
