MikesCarInfo is Jeep Grand Cherokee or Honda or Toyota which one is best?
MikesCarInfo This makes my 3rd viewing of this video. Very informative! I am a F150 lover! But after watching this review. Jeep Grand Cherokee changed my heart! From the Ivory white color 2 the interior of the vehicle, and sophisticated electronics! As the year's go by Jeep Grand Cherokee, get's better and better! One thing thou? How do u take the tire out if you would need 2.
MikesCarInfo looks like the 18” wheels
This is EXACTLY what we mean by in depth review. Absolutely great videos and detailed. This is everything a consumer wants to see and do at the dealership without the pushy salesman. I felt like I was just in the vehicle exploring on my own. You got yourself a new subscriber!
I think you put the icing on the cake. Getting a Grand Cherokee when I get back to the mainland. Your review is top notch. Very in depth.
I had to watch this review again. I keep coming back to this one since I'm still considering this rig but with the V8 option. So, once again thanks for the inept review Mike!
I recently bought a 2018 Grand Cherokee Overland and love it. This is the most complete in depth look at one that I've seen anywhere and you did a great job on this as you do with all of your videos. Thanks for also posting a video of one of these at night as well!
good evening from there, please can you help me clarify if your cherokee overland uses the normal 60 amps wet battery or if it can use it or not
Thanks. Finally I may be able to understand this car after having it for nearly 4 years!
Gotta watch it a few more times. 😉👍💥
Great video and valuable information! Thanks so much!!!
just another very well done video by MIKE super job and thanks
Great job. You have a knack for this! Great voice too! Way more knowledgable than any of the salespeople I have spoken too! Jeep should hire you!!! SOLD!
Excellent review helps me out a lot thank you
What a great review. Thanks
What a great review, well done.
Very, very good review, congrats !
Thinking about getting one of these but in a different color very very soon ! Thanks for the review !
My "17 Grand Cherokee tralhawk feels old now watching your video. Great idea by the way, never knew how nice the beige seats and wood trimmed looked. Mine is just black suede, nice but looks old.
Great video, very thorough
Omg I just bought my jeep grand Cherokee high altitude and this helped so much
I bought a jeep grand cherokee after watching your videos and I must say that I love it.
Thank you for watching my videos... I think you made a great choice with the Grand Cherokee :)
best review i have seen ...peace out
I can see the pearl white at the front bumper my Favorite truck I like the part when you cover the front to show the stylish gadgets great Video 👍
I love this jeep an i love they way you showed it
Thank you for the in depth review.
Interesting to note that in Australia (where I am) most of the specs mentioned/listed in this review of the overland are available as standard in the limited model plus a few more that (appear) to be only available as standard on your summit spec.
I bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited after watching your video Mike. Thank you for all the information!
needs the security package
Very nice review, thanks
Great review. I love the GC line. I own an 05 Limited with a 4.7 V8 and it has been an exceptional SUV. It currently has 140k mi and it is still wonderful. A little beat up but I'm looking to repaint it and spruce it up.
Fantastic review! I want a 2018 GC Summit now ;-)
Mike please do a Trackhawk review! Love your videos keep up the good work!
I'm living in Antigua and I would love to get a 2016 model. I now have the 2005 model and am in love with this Jeep. Darn I love to push my ride so comfortable 💖 it.
So happy they fixed the fascia and the shifter
Mike, thank you for all of your time. You make great videos.
Great review. Thanks. Have you reviewed the 2018 diesel motor?
I have a 2015 fully loaded overland and I replace the front black grill for the new chrome one and replace my already 8.4 2015 uconnect system for the same one just with android and iphone play or whatever. Really nothing that I really miss front the new overland or the summit and less expensive. Few mechanical details here and there but so far my dealer has been awesome on fixing everything under warranty. Running like new overall awesome vehicle
I just bought my Jeep and this was WAY more in depth than what the dealer showed me. It’s a computer on wheels and will likely take months to figure it all out. Thanks for the insight. FYI get the extended warranty
I’ve been waiting for a 2018 JGC review! Hopefully you can get your hands on the trailhawk and high altitude trim levels sometime
Best in depth
Mike, Obviously this is a brand new 2018 Overland. I was wondering in future reviews if you could highlight the updates, changes of a new year model as opposed to the previous year. For example in this case the 2017 Overland (new) is very deeply discounted by dealers at the present time and it would be a benefit to know if the updates alone warrant the large extra expenditure. Of course each buyer will weigh this differently, but one could add it into the equation to make a decision.
Really thinking about copping me one!!
Amazing review mike . Keep up the good work .
excellent review.i wont have to talk to the dealer to much.
Magnífica máquina! Quero uma ...
Beautiful car.
Dream car, now with your ausome review will be my next daily driver.
Thankyou Mike, great video!!!
This is the only one Jeep I can buy it Mike.
I'm a biggest fan from Iraq
Always watching your videos ❤️
MrYmcmb90 really... Good.lol
thank you
I traded in a 2016 Overland last week. I loved it but we needed more towing capacity, so looking at the 2018 Overland again but I hate hate those wheels. The Sterling Edition wheels are my favorite but it misses features, maybe a high altitude this time lol
Thanks.
Just purchased a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland“ Hemi truck” I’ve always wanted a grand Cherokee.
No matter how many times I have watched your videos, I cannot get over how brilliant of you to develop the introductory clip of you reversing the car over the camera!
This time I appreciated the opportunity to see where the parts of the 4x4 system lies in the Jeep. Thanks!
E cooooooool
Mike, I love your car reviews but I wish you would test drive these cars and give us your on road opinion. I think that would greatly improve your channel.
Mike i currently own a 2013 grand cherrokee laredo with 76,000 miles in winter chili pearl and it has been good to me. I will soon trade my jeep in for a new 2018 grand cherrokee limited
Outstanding review!
That's a beautiful jeep, but I think my 2011 hemi grand is the best vehicle ever made! I don't have air suspension, but fixing to install a 2.5 inch lift.
Cool
I might be getting a 2018 grand cherrokee limited with blind spot and cross traffic alert and other safety features but in 4x4 and with the 5.7l hemi
Wow automatic drivers side window up and down!!!
Would love for you to get a video of a Trackhawk when one comes in!!!
Ok I subbed and turned bell on
This is my 3rd complete viewing of this video. I'm researching jeeps prior to purchase and I'm perplexed about something. My focus has been Grand Cherokee-High Altitude trim level. The jeep website (build and price) says (basically) the High Altitude is Overland plus (+). However, in other videos the High Altitude does not have the Chrome Tow Hooks, the embroidery on front seat and overland badge on tailgate. I'm asking this question of you because in all your videos (that I've seen) you are detailed, thorough, complete and speak in a way I can understand. Any thoughts?
Amazing review
Great review! When can you do the review for the 2019 JeepCherokee?
There should be one available in the coming weeks :)
Great review, I lease a 2015 JGC Limited. My wife and I really like it and it has enough room for us and our 2 small kids. The lease is up soon and we’re considering moving to the Overland trim.
One of my dream vehicles. One day...
In love with the interior colour. Wow
Thanks for the great video.
I like jeep chookee up to down I know up 4x4 Down sxt that real cool.
I don't understand what's the different between the summit and the overland besides the body a little bit and the illuminated welcome door silks, other than that if you get a fully loaded overland is totally the same thing and of course less money because of the trim level badges I guess.
Do any of the Jeep Grand Cherokee trims have adjustable pedals?
Mike i would Like to tell you that i am really impressed with your review it was very helpful and i will use that info when i trade my laredo in. You might be suprised to find out but I bought my first grand cherrokee used it was a 2009 with only 14,000 miles but i put about 30k on it and it had a lot of problems including that the water pump was bad when the water pump went bad it had 28k on the odometer there my family decided to trade it in for a 2013 larded and even though it would prove to be a good car we bought a special warranty that most dealers in south Florida do, as you may know i live in south Florida and southern Florida dealers offer a warranty which pays for a loaner while the dealer at which you bought your car works on your vehicle. My new limited which i am supposed to buy next week has a 45k sticker price because it has back up camera gps cross traffic alert blind spot monitoring and lane departure warning. I will post a video of my current grand cherrokee and i will post a video when i get the new one.
Thanks Patrick, I will be on the lookout for your video :)
Test drove the Limited version up here in Canada today and I wasn't impressed with the Pentastar 3.6 litre 6 cylinder engine. Car was brand spanking new only 9km on it. When I went into sport mode the only difference was a sick sounding louder growl. It wasn't near as powerful as I had hoped. Everything else was pretty good with the exception of the smallish cargo capacity. I am 6'2" tall and I had to get on my tip toes to step in. Its definately big!
Thanks for sharing your experience Paul.
Were you driving in mountains or steep hills?
All city with no highway test because of traffic. Its heavy and lumbers around compared to the CR-V. And maybe just maybe it is all the TrackHawk videos I have watched!!! It is such a beauty I still haven't ruled it out.
I've been owned a Wrangler over the past 10 years as my primary driver, my last Wrangler was a 16 Rubi Hardrock, and I just traded it in for a '18 Trailhawk with the Hemi in it. First impressions, dang i forgot how bad the ride is in my Jeep lol, the trailhawk drives like a dream. The Hemi's power is nice and a great upgrade from the v6 pentastar. I'm definitely glad I moved over to the grand cherokee trailhawk and i think one of my fav features added to the '18 from the '17 is the addition of apple car play, it's about time they added apple car play support to the UConnect system.
But the 2017 one has more features. Like the adaptive cruise control or the parking asist
E cool
How is the reliability on the 2016 and newer? I hear bad things about the trans and electrical.
@mikescarinfo
How come when you get the Grand Cherokee Overland they give you the leather seats with the overland badge sticked into the front seats...And get the Overland emblem on the back tail gate...But when you add the high altitude package to an Overland and actually making it even more premium, they take away the Overland leather badge and tail gate emblem?
Très jolie
can you do an in depth look of 2018 jeep grand cherokee Laredo? (base model) and can you show us apple CarPlay in that model as well? I think a lot of people would be interested to see what they get when they opt for the base model.
I don't have an 2018 yet but there is a 2017 which is about the same: ua-cam.com/video/DO7mjWa7pHk/v-deo.html
My salesperson should give you 50% of the commission on my purchase! Great review!
I bought mine yesterday - the exact vehicle you reviewed - love it!.. thanks again.
@@mikec1299 Do you still love it? 2 years after? Would you recommend it?
Nice review. Does it have auto beam?
Apple car play and android are not available in Canada. We also didn't have the ability to have any apps like travel link or weather.
Deny where are you living in Canada? apple working great there even in north.
Love the Grand Cherokee. My only complaint is the gauge cluster is getting a little long in the tooth. Thanks for the review Mike !
wtf you talking about. It still looks modern even by todays standards.
Thanks Mike but I am skeptical about buying one because there are so many negative reviews about the Cherokee model in general, what is your true opinion about the basic Cherokee or the limited?
I prefer basic vehicles myself. Partially because of the price but also the simplicity.
If I were to buy a Grand Cherokee I would get a base Laredo 4x2.
Nicely done! Short of a test drive, there doesn't appear to be any possible surprises. Believe it or not, my wife puts 30% of likeability on which side of the vehicle the gas goes in. Jeep has it on the correct side!!! It should be a national requirement for manufacturers.
Looks exactly like the same 2017 overland you reviewed last season! Tell me Mike...Can we get the diesel motor now in the 2018 model year?
Ecodiesel Grand Cherokee has been available for a few years now.
Not really..The EPA put a hold on FCA diesel for emissions related software. The diesel model has been on hold until it get certified again. You may want to check up on this data..I thought you may of got word from the dealership there so...
How much more is it for the v8?
That's actually a good idea. Put a camera on the ground and drive over it slowly. Good for when you are inspecting a car before buying it.
Nice review.
1) FCA removed SD card slot and put an extra USB port(More flexibility?).
2) New Uconnect 8.4 system finally, I mean finally have Android Auto and Apple Car.
3) Capless fuel intake looks tiny different from 2016. Looks like FCA added one more shield thing on it, and the rubber seal.
4) This 20inch wheel is not as handsome as 2014-2016 five spoke design. But the 18 inch wheel spoke design however looks better than the 2014-2016, especially the 18-inch on TrailHawk trim level. 2017 20 inch wheel on Limited is just ugly(not sure if 2018 Limited is gonna have the same), my own opinion, not worth $1950. Stick with the 18-inch, looks better, more comfortable, better off-road capability, wider and cheaper choice on tires.
5) Removed flash light in the lower left hand side in cargo (rally used anyway).
They also removed the rails in the rear cargo bay. Not a big deal as they would always get scratched and scuffed up when sliding cargo over them.
The paint may be nice but its harder to color match which is no good for an off road car that is more susceptible to scratches and heavy use.
which one is better Grand Cherokee vs Range Rover Sport Dynamic
Nothing because they will get you stranded somewhere
Mike I'm thinking about getting one of these next month, is it true that the transmission is a problem on these models?
The Grand Cherokee has the ZF 8 speed transmission that is solid in my opinion. The same transmission in used in Rolls Royce and a lot of other luxury and performance brands.
I just bought a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland High Altitude Edition! Please do a cover on one of those so I can admire my car even when I'm not near it lol
Btw I love your videos
Patriot1776 loool. What is this edition? What's the differences if I may ask?
la10sooony we have to wait for Mike to do a video so we can see! I can't give away the spoil the details! It's the High Altitude which mine is pretty much the Summit so it's sweet
This reviewer might replace the owners manual?
Guess this was pre-yellow pointy finger Mike.
Please welcome me to the family you just gained a new subscriber 🤝
Thanks alot for your explanation of this vehicle... you've done well...fallen in love with Jeep... thank G_d for Whites Americans...they are a blessing to me... long live America
Really like the interior and color on this model. Not a fan of the all black interiors on these.
does this offer front parking sensors?
I know this is way off base but what is the song name in the intro?
"Hero theme" from the UA-cam audio library.
Hardly any changes since 2011... I was hoping to see a big change. My 2013 looks just like this minus small headlight/fog differences and the Navi Screen/Dash. Outside of that, everything is the same.
This also has an 8 speed transmission.
MikesCarInfo good point. Hearing a lot of bad things about it too. Glad I have the 6 speed.
Bad things? The ZF 8HP transmission is one of the best transmissions in the world. It is used by Rolls Royce, Maserati, Bentley, Aston Martin, Dodge SRT vehicles like the Hellcat as well as heavy duty RAM trucks.
It can shift fast, has 8 gear ratios available, can skip gears, and can handle up to 740 lb-ft of torque.
BTW the 2011 Grand Cherokee had a 5 speed auto.
MikesCarInfo many dealerships around my area have seen lots of them coming in for problems. In fact if you Google around you will see they've had nothing but problems with them
Please provide a link. Your claims run contrary to everything I have read and experienced at dealerships for the past 4 years.
Where’s the little yellow hand?
This was filmed before I started using it regularly.
I love the Jeep Overland and consider to buy it. However, I am not sure about the reliability of Jeep manufactured by Chrysler. Anyone has experience about the SUV and would like to share? Appreciate for sharing your thought.
almost no issues with overland 2014. But I would suggest to purchase extended warranty for 7 or 8 years bumper to bumper. Very nice and reliable vehicle. The fact chrysler has not changed much in Jeeps GC for like 5 years for now confirms that
is it that the overland grand Cherokee is hybrid as i am not seeing the place for battery and you did not mention battery location
The battery is located under the passenger seat.
sir thank for the quick response but is the battery rechargeable or is it the normal battery or it is electrically charged?
Just a normal 12v battery
so i would not be too good for use in places like africa where we use 60 amps wet battery. am i right. sorry for my series of questions
I don't know. My understanding is vehicles have fairly standardized components throughout the world.
