You'll find all you need to know for reupholstering your caravan seats in this video. I am by no means an expert and very much a rookie in all things caravan. However I thought I would share the technique I used and hopefully help someone else with their renovation.
I reupholstered new buttons for my cushions and will be uploading a separate video on how I did this.
Below are details of where I got all the items to reupholster my seats;
Fabric is from Amazon. Seller: Haaris Imaan Upholstery Fabric. Seat cushions in colour Slate Grey, curtains in colour Silver. It is the linen look fabric.
Self cover hemline loop back buttons, 29mm.
Dewalt stapler
Plyboard, cut to the sizes of the back/bottom of your cushions
10" upholstery needle and twine - eBay.

Hiya! What a great looking makeover 👌 how comfortable are the cushions with the Plywood Backing? Do they become stiffer? Would you still be able to use the base cushions to sleep on? And you used quite thin Plywood 9mm?

Thanks thats a great help. Our caravan is in storage so its not easy to just go and measure up. Could I also ask if you know the thickness of the ply you used and was it thick enough to keep the staples tight. Thanks again.
One tip for you all, snip buttons off first then the old cover in zips, you can then wash on a 30 wash to remove old dirt etc. Then you can either unpick the facing fabric and use that as a template and sew another fabric in place, or you can place old covers back on re zip up then cover. This is a good way of doing it but not sure how long it would last with use

nicely done, i just bought myself a caravan to live in fulltime and its in great condition but just soooo out dated... let me know if you have any tips for cupboards

Great job, your caravan looks gorgeous. I have just bought a similar sized caravan. We can’t collect it until after lockdown but I can’t wait to revamp it....just wondered how many meters of fabric you purchased, will 10 meters be enough?

I made the curtains myself with a different colour fabric 😊
What happens when you want to use as mattress? Lying on plywood?
We don’t flip the cushions we just lay on them as we would sit.
Hi! Great video! What type of fabric did you use and I’ve got cushions with raised patterns on, so would you think a layer of wool or ? underneath would be a good idea?
Hello. Thank you. I used a linen look fabric. Haaris Imaan it’s called from Amazon. You could layer it if you have a lot of raised patterns. Mine were very plain beforehand so it’s not something I had to think about. Could you not remove the fabric taking it back to the foam and then just add your new fabric?

Did you even use fire resistant fabric
May look nice on one side but don't think on other side staples will stay in that long as too much fabric
For your information Tina it is fire resistant fabric and is proper fabric to reupholster, not like I need to explain myself to a keyboard warrior like you. The staples have held fine actually and are still going strong 9 months later. If you’ve not got anything nice to say then don’t comment in future. How rude!
Tina Jones - how positively awful you are!! I'd like to see you try this job - why can't you just mention the fire resistant fabric - how do you know she hasn't used it... I can't stand cyber bullies!!! Go home and learn some manners!!

@@thedixonsontour7546 hello again - I was positively buzzing after watching this - have dodgy caravan seats myself. I hate absolutely hate opinionated, ignorant and rude people - how dare anyone speak to you like that - beyond rude. I pull people up now - if more people stood up for this form of cyber abuse then we may reduce the problem. I would be reporting Tina Jones if I were you and she should offer you a sincere apology. :) Stay marvellous and being energised XXX
