Not sure if I have the S15 or s14 Notch top/Black top, w/5speed, How would I find out?
S14 injectors should be purple, S15 should be red, brown or something in-between the two colors.
Correction: 4:30 S13 SR blacktop never had VCT. The later S14 and S15 engines did.
Yes you are correct.
Aside from Hondas K series engines, the sr20 still remains one of the best 4 cylinder engines for tuners. Which is crazy considering how old it is.
Just like the K series it was cheap and made good horsepower. These days the performance per$ is not worth it unless you already have one. There just wasn't many other 4cyl rwd engines as good.
I certianly agree with whats said in this video. Ive been dealing with the SR20DETs(Gods Engine) most though. Ive got one in my S13 hatchback(200SX).
Happy you agree with the info! Thanks for watching.
the fwd sr cars just dont get the love they deserve. ill never understand it! good vid!
Yeh i wanna get a GTIR!
Mine spun a bearing🥲 I’m gonna sus out the damage to see if I can send it and replace the bearing
If the bearing shell spun then it's definitely damaged the crank and you will need to linish it. If it's just knocking slightly them you might get away with some fresh bearings.
@@JarrodWillemse there’s bits of metal found in the sump, I don’t know how bad it is yet because I’m pulling the upper half of the sump off, it is knocking, not on idle but around 2.5k rpm
@@R6_Leo this was 2 months ago but if its out of the car and apart take it a to shop, just spend the money
