Wise words, very beneficial.🤲 The Fiqh point of view is clear. Not asking for forgiveness for someone who does not even believe in that God imakes sense. The Seerah gives a great framework. The base for a human approach when reacting to non muslims and theiir losses is evident. No need to complicate matters..

This is the late Queen Elizabeth firing a gun ...and that's exactly how people from 55 countries 🌎 that were invaded by The British Empire 🇬🇧 remember the legacy of her time since 1952! 👑
I didn't have to open a history book 📖. I just called my 80 year old mother 📞, who was 9 years old when Elizabeth became Queen, and 14 years old when the British army went to war in her country Egypt to control the Suez Canal, after 74 years of occupation! .
"They (British soldiers) were roaming the streets of Egypt, humiliating people, capturing them, and executing anyone who dares to challenge their presence in the country" My mom as an eyewitness.
- The 1956 British-led war with Egypt 🇪🇬 caused casualties of 2650, about half which were civilians, and 5500 prisoners of war captured!
So before you say RIP ⚰, please be
mindful that there are people old enough who have witnessed what the British did in their country to their family and friends! 🇬🇧
You may say "but she had no power!". Of which I will tell you, there is not a single major decision not signed by the royalty 🖋
At the very least, they would have voiced their symbolic objection to put her signature on a decision that would result in the death of thousands in other parts of the world 🌎!
Egypt was just one example of many during her reign. I will not talk about what happened during her ancestors times before 1952 (sorry 🇮🇳 🇵🇰 🇧🇩 🇵🇸) as it is not fair to her.
But let us talk about her legacy in numbers 👑:
- 🇲🇾 Malaysia 1952 to 1957: 1346 killed, 2406 wounded.
- 🇨🇾 Cyprus war 1955 to 1959: 461 Died.
- 🇳🇬 Nigeria until 1960: but after they left, the Civil War caused by them resulted in 1+ million casualties.
- 🇧🇳 Brunei 1962: 40 dead and 3,400 captured.
- 🇮🇩 Indonesia 1963 to 1966: 590 killed, 222 wounded, 771 captured.
- 🇾🇪 Yemen in 1963 to 1967: Over 400 killed and 1772 injured.
- 🇦🇷 Argentina in 1982 (Falklands): 649 killed, 1657 wounded, 11,313 captured.
- 🇬🇧 Northen Ireland 1960 to 1998: 3,532 dead (including 1,840 civilians), 47,500 injured!!
- 🇨🇦 Canada: She is the head of state for my country, which didn't appologize or compensate the aboriginal people formally until 2008 (who suffered for centuries under British occupation)
- Bonus: 🇮🇶 Gulf War 1990 and 2003, 🇦🇫 Afghanistan 2001 to 2021, and many more (tell me in the comments if I forgot anyone).
This is indeed a very heavy legacy to meet your Creator with! 😱
Allah said 📖 “Indeed, when royalties (Kings and Queens) invade a land, they ruin it and debase its nobles. They really do so! إِنَّ الْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوا أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَا أَذِلَّةً ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ" An Naml 27:34)
Let us take this moment and remember all the casualties of British wars (and all colonialists), their families, and those who are suffering from the aftermath of famine and civil wars indirectly caused by past occupations! 🤲 May Allah give us the best legacy and save us from oppression. Ameen!
P.S. I tried to get my message across using just facts, without any insults or passing judgement. The rest is up to her Creator to decide!

MashaALLAH very good . It is just sad that for these fools who always sit on the edge to vent their anger and pronounce judgement. sheikh has to always choose his words super carefully and explain and re explain what it means so it is not taken out of context.
I have A Christian friend very good man who’s much better than some Muslim I know & I pray for him that Allah guide him & his family. Allah gives whomever he wants so those Muslims who think they better than others, look at your own self worry about yourself let alone your family.
I say to Shaykh Yasir: Jazaakallahu Khairan. What a wonderful talk! MaashaaAllah! May Allah grant us wisdom. I wish wisdom was a product sold online. I would have purchased it especially for the extremists who are tarnishing our image. They lack wisdom. They lack good manners. They are deprived from civility and respect. Astonishingly they rely on the system they abhor for their living. May Allah guide us all.
Alhamdulilah i have been able to meet our sheikh in person when he came to canada just this october and i have sent him emails asking him questions about this and as Allah wills he posted a video about this topic.
Inshallah we all get to meet this amazing sheikh in person and learn lots from him.

Assalaam Alaykum. Fanatics who are obsessed in talking with disrespect, condescending manner towards the dead are filled with a sense of arrogance. It is as if they know who will enter Janna and who won’t. I wish they would show some adab and leave the judgment to the ultimate Judge. Do they know how their ending will be? May Allah reward Dr. Yasir for always discussing with these issues with wisdom, courage and sound knowledge.
Sheikh forgot about abu talib. The prophet even cried and was greatly saddened by his death0

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدِ افْتَرَىٰ إِثْمًا عَظِيمًا
فكيف الجمع بين الآية و بين ما قلت؟وان لم يبلغ لهم الدعوة فهو أمر آخر و لاكن ما عن من بلعهم الدعوة و اعرضوا عنه؟
Spot on sheikh. We can feel what we want as long as we stay true to our teachings. You can feel sympathy for others even if they're not Muslims. That's not a sin. Be compassionate to all, you don't know who the servants of Allah are.

Assalamu aleikum. I still have trouble with the statement that each person who ever heard of Islam is obligated to learn about it. Because most non-muslims who are confronted with Islam, they get a totally wrong picture of the religion. They have the impression that it is about hatred, excluding other people, oppression of women and all these negative images which are not true. If I was not born into a Muslim family and would not have deep conversation with a "true" Muslim, I do not think I would have felt the urge to learn much about Islam.

But in all these examples where our prophet (saw.) showed respect, these people didn’t harm Muslims in their lifetime. Mut‘im ibn Adi helped our prophet saw.
The damage an evil England did as colonialists is not acceptible… they had human zoos, stole and plundered from around the world, splitted our caliphate and took away Palestine… therefore it’s not the same like the Jew in time of Rasul Allah (saw).
Would Musa (as) speak his condolences for fir‘aun? Or did the muslims speak their condolences, when Abu Lahab died?
I think it is a difference, when someone dies who harmed the Muslims or someone who didn’t harm the Muslims.
In this case of the queen died. It’s better to just be quiet in my opinion.

'Inna lilahi wa inna ilahyi rajioon' is a general statement which means 'To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return'
There's nothing wrong with saying this at the time of any death.
But when I see animals, I say this too?
Are they not from Allah, and will not they return to Him?
