those storm troopers eat Jeffhammer rounds like it's nothing. It takes around 6-7 full auto bursts to wound them enough. I think the poison is better than you give it credit
Against the prison and religious faction at high levels of skulls only. There are a lot of weak opponents for whom AOE poison is quite good and the return on items from them does not always allow you to replenish stocks if you are not a tunnel rat. With the Gorgon, you need to poison the area in preparation for an ambush. The poison can be amplified by several shots in one area (pollution). And the enemies also spread poison by running around the area as well as fire. A loud shot to attract enemies while you are eating or cleaning in another room. If it's too complicated, then the thermal grenade is your best friend in most tasks in this version of the game while the AI enemies are too stupid to avoid dangerous places.
I'm not sure if this is a previous version you are playing on, but I don't think the SPIT toxic gun counts as a "pistol" for the purposes of Niko's trait. I wish it did though, lol. I had this same idea the other day when running up against RealWare; SPIT for heavy troops, standard pistol for everything else.

i've found the spit to be the most efficient way to deal with heavily armored realware enemies from range. don't sleep on it fam)

Against most organic enemies, poison is only really held back by its poor delivery system.

In the past acid weapon is very dangerous
Fighting against it still kind of can be, but using them... not really great.

Realware honour guard still have zero poison resist i think? It has its uses
