- Mario Kart 8 deluxe, after 5 years of being the Nintendo switch’s best selling game, is finally getting DLC in the form of the booster course pass. This is going to be bringing 48 retro tracks to mario kart deluxe from super mario kart, mario kart 64, mario kart super circuit, mario kart double dash, mario kart DS, mario kart wii, mario kart 7, and mario kart tour! The final wave, wave 6, of the dlc dropped a few days ago containing two cups, the Acorn cup and Spiny cup. That brought over a total of 8 tracks, Rome Avanti, DK Mountain, Daisy Circuit, Piranha Plant Cove, Madrid Drive, Rosalina’s Ice World, SNES Bowser’s Castle 3, and Wii Rainbow Road. In today’s episode of level by level we're going to take a look at all 8 of these tracks to see if they’re good or bad retro tracks and put them in a tier list! Oh and there are 4 new characters, Diddy Kong, Funky Kong, Pauline, and Peachette!

Daisy has gotten a surprising amount of love this year. From Daisy Circuit, to Daisy Cruiser, to actually being a playable character in Mario Wonder.

Gotta say, I think it's all good. They added the final 8 tracks, 4 new characters, *17* new Mii outfits, and a music player.

I think Rosalinas Ice World really should be in B tier. It may not be the best course, but I feel its tight technical turns and major graphical upgrade make it much better than a D tier. Also the music remix slaps!

I personally get where he's coming from. In general it's just a boring ice track. I feel like it's only really good at the very beginning but after the half pipe section there's really not much going for it in my opinion.

There’s actually a really cool element of DK Mountain that you missed! If you angle your trick on the third mountain ramp, you can jump onto a part of the volcano that’s normally inaccessible and use it for a shortcut! It’s a very precise jump and pretty difficult to pull off perfectly, but it feels so rewarding to do it successfully!
What a journey the booster course pass has been....it still feels like it was yesterday that wave 1 was first reveled....
And you know what?
I cannot be upset with what we got in the booster course pass.
I mean we were only promised 48 new tracks in the beginning...but we got so much more on top of that!
8 new characters.
17 new mii costumes.
A music player.
Custom items for VS mode.
Nintendo really went all out for us....and i couldn't be more thankful for all they've given us these past 2 years.
I doubt the next mario kart will live up to how incredible deluxe is kinda like how if there's another smash game then it won't be as insane as ultimate...but i know the next mario kart will still be a great time.

Yeah. Those were the awesome things that the Booster Course Pass DLC did for us, and the music for each BCP DLC track is as good as the music for the base game tracks and for the 8DX battle stages. The visuals/graphics in the BCP DLC are STILL *DEFINITELY NEVER* EVEN ANYWHERE NEAR as good as the visuals/graphics in the base game, but I'm happy we got more content for MK8/MK8DX from Nintendo
I think porting all the tracks from tour was the best decision nintendo could’ve made in the long run. Sure the graphics are significantly worse but with tour giving us a new retro track every two weeks, EVERYONE was keeping a close eye on both the dlc and tour. With every new track added to tour, at least one persons predictions list were shuffled, keeping the dlc on everyone’s mind in between wave releases

If Piranha Plant Pipeline would have been and would be coming to MK8DX, then it would look miles better then *EV ERY SINGLE* BCP DLC track, MARK MY WORDS. ALSO, the base game has waaaaayyyyy much more models that are fully modelled than what those full-on base 8/8DX disregarders think, even if those models are shaded smooth
Personally I feel like DK Mountain was handled decently, though it does give ultra-jank vibes. Guess that’s a trend with DK cannon tracks in 8DX 😂

Personally I thought Madrid was one of the most intuitive city tracks in the game and with the best flow, since it has few weird and unnatural turns with guide arrows slammed, and as such one of the most enjoyable city tracks of the bunch.
Plus the music is great, dunno how can you not like it.
Because it is just another city with another boring layout it is just as unique as any other city… you know actually scratch that those goombas make it peak.
Madrid having a "weak" song is definitely a hot take, a lot of people seem to consider it one of the best themes out of any of the city tracks.
His entire take on the track is a hot take. In my honest opinion, Madrid is a top 5 city and it’s almost downright insulting saying it’s worse than London which he already slandered heavily in the video and just slightly better than Tokyo.

Nah both tracks are underwhelming. Madrid should’ve swapped places with Rome because its too lackluster to me the last city track, and rosa’s ice world is just a boring, forgettable ice course that’s based off rosalina for no reason

What a journey! I was holding back tears when playing Wii rainbow road, the music had the perfect journeys end vibe. Best DLC for any video game ever, and it’s a DLC for a genuinely good game. Sad to see this end but looking forward to what’s next for the series
I'm really happy for what they did for Rome.
As an Italian, I can say that is the city track that have the biggest number of reference of the city.

Madrid Drive and Rosalina's Ice World got way too much hate. Madrid Drive is great in that there's many enemies to avoid across the track and the parts which have no enemies are aesthetically great to look at, making it an overall great tour track imo. For Rosalina's Ice World, I actually really like the difficulty of the first turn and the ice cave sections make it a unique ice track imo. The open section is also really nice with the half pipe's helping you with getting to the ice on top of the water, so overall it really had great improvements.
What I hate about the first turn is that often the camera just angles downward when you ride the wall. It’s annoying and it’s really hard to avoid walls. It may be a skill issue, but I’m pretty good at this game. The ice physics and sharp turns make me not like it.

I absolutely love Wave 6. I love how Pauline references Jump Up, Super Star! by singing 'high up in the sky' when you get airtime and 'I'm the 1-Up girl' when you win.
I _also_ love that you can see the Gateway Galaxy in the distance in the background of Rosalina's Ice World.
I *ALSO* love that we finally got Wii Rainbow Road.
I *_ALSO_* love the texturing. Sure, the buildings on Daisy Circuit are still a bit blocky, but aside from that its basically at pre-DLC standards!
I also love the music feature! I could go on for hours!

I get everyone haa their opinions and mine is, Rosalina’s ice world is one of my favourite tracks.
A better ice tracks to me, the weird corner slop you go around throws people off the first time as you’ll either underestimate it and fall into the cavern or overestimate it and go up into the snow/wall.
The track getting smaller forcing you into the water always seemed cool to me, the stage just getting smaller and you if you’re fast enough you can make the ice path.
The ice sliding made it harder to stay on the split paths, seeing friends fly off the stage gets me every time.

I just want to say, thank you so much for making these high quality and amazing Booster Course Pass Level by Level episodes! They were so much fun and entertaining to watch! I will definitely miss these episodes now that all the waves have been released, but I’ll definitely be binge watching them over again. Your editing and script writing is just amazing 👏🏼

PS: Madrid Drive is my favorite city course along with Vancouver lol. The music in Madrid is actually really good in my opinion. It’s my favorite out of the Tour city tracks besides Vancouver. I guess we have different tastes 😂
And I also LOVE that the final track in the BCP is Wii Rainbow Road! It was the perfect selection 😄
You forgot to mention the fact you can glide to the left on Madrid’s glider section and potentially skip a bit of the track, going over the Off-Road. And in the plaza section there’s a gap between the tents that you can drive right through, it’s really interesting to pull off. It’s not the most complex track but you really just skimmed over all the good stuff
I know invincible walls are some of the least favorite things people like but I'm really really sure they are necessary for preventing cheese if you don't know without the invisible walls you can actually cheese the level fly over most of the Land

Its been a wild ride experiencing the booster course pass start to end. I remember when it was first revealed that mariokart 8 deluxe got dlc and being shocked. I couldnt get the dlc until 2023 but I was still able to experience it through youtube videos, like this series. All good things have to come to an end unfortunately, but at least we ended on a high note. Its been amazing experiencing this game and its dlc and this is one of the channels that got me into it. So all I want to say is thank you for bringing this game's amazing dlc into my attention.
Madrid Drive, while could be considered empty and not fun, is cool because it takes an element from every prior city. Gliding over a body of water? Paris Singapore, and Rome. Two thwomps that offer coins right before it if you decide to take the route? Tokyo. The split path at the start where you take the same one on laps 2 and 3? New York. A circle turn where you can very easily get purple spark? Sydney. A park/grassy area? London, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Vancouver. (the ramps afterwards are also directly taken from Peach Gardens!). A straightaway section with moving obstacles and speed boosts? Bangkok. An area with goombas? Athens. A randomly raised boost panel to spice up the track? Los Angeles.

We started bad with low-poly grass, and we ended with 17 mii costumes, funky and Diddy kong, pauline and other peach clone that nobody asked and wii rainbow road.

Airship Fortress already returned in Mario Kart 7, I think it’s somewhat fair that tracks like DS Mario Circuit, Rosalina’s Ice World and Daisy Circuit would finally get some attention
There is actually a huge advantage to going on the little sidewalks in Daisy circuit, in a race if you're in first and you don't want to get hit by a shell and you don't have something to protect yourself, then it might be good to go up there because someone on the ground level can't hit you with the shell

Playing Wii Rainbow Road as Dry Bones with my friends, hearing that glorious remastered music… it felt like the Ratatouille scene. You know the one. I was worried that it would be diluted, but they kept Wii’s EXACT vibe and even ADDED details! A fantastic finale.
The Mii Outfits were a pleasant surprise as well, they didn’t have to do that but they did. Really feels like a passionate sendoff to this decade-long experience. Racing as Robbie Rotten stuck in a Tower just makes me irrationally happy.
Piranha Plant Cove is my favourite original Tour track in this game because you can create your own massive shortcuts.
This DLC was AMAZING!!! I don't know how a sequel can top this! I think of this game as Mario Kart Ultimate now!
Imma keep it real, I actually really like rosalina's ice world. I think it has a really pretty art style, a really enjoyable soundtrack, and I really enjoy the turns ot has, especially that first large one.
I think the spiny cup is probably my favorite in the game tbh
I feel like most people enjoy it, idk what he is talking about it being so loathed. Not to mention its one of the only actually difficult courses in 8 DX.
I gotta say, this is definitely my favorite wave. Not only is my Wii nostalgia kicking in with rainbow road, but even some of the more random picks like Daisy circuit and Rosalinas ice world are really fun as well

Always loved your vidoes, been watching since when you released your boss ranking in mario maker came out. Question, are you going to be making an updated cup ranking with all the dkc cups and also if you are you should put the base game tracks on the level by level tier list.
Don't hate on Ice world just because the theme is ICE, I think Ice is a nICE theme for a track.

As someone who has only played Mario kart Wii before playing 8 deluxe, and whos favorite Mario game to ever exist being super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, I'm just happy Rosalina's ice world is a galaxy themed track, and love it just for that reason.

28:55 Sandbagging is still possible, just nerfed. On Baby Park it actually works nearly the same since the all the item sets are separate and move around.

I am unbelievably excited that Funky Kong has been added to MK8DX. I'm a big fan of TWD98, so I'm quite used to seeing Funky Kong racing, but since I don't have Mario Kart Wii, I didn't have any way to play as him until now.

You forgot the Moo Moo Suit tweaking animation when tricking on anti gravity
It’s really fascinating how the BCP had a rough start when it came to visuals since the 1st Wave. But, the graphics gets better in future waves it makes sense why it was so long to realize how it was nowhere near how it was before.
Side note: If you go out of your way all cups with all DLC cups, you get the 2nd credits sequence with the medley of previous DLC tracks and the first to end part of Super Mario Kart credits theme.
I wish they replaced Rosalina’s Ice World with Airship Fortress. It was already in tour and pretty beloved DS track.

Colosseum in Rome at night, also how boring is it going to seem to be a track where each corner is different, although Madrid has small boring areas, all of Rome is boring lmao.

#1 Wii Rainbow Road 10/10 (Is a bit long but way better than 1 lap)
#2 SNES Bowser Castle 3 9/10 (Love the remake and song)
#3 Tour Piranha Plant Cove 9/10 (Where’s Tour Piranha Plant Pipeline?) (But glad this one wasn’t the one cut)
#4 Tour Madrid Drive 8/10 (Love the Song and is one of the best cities)
#5 GCN DK Mountain 8/10 (This is a good track with a good song) (I’d put it higher but there’s so many good tracks)
#6 Tour Rome Avanti 7/10 (Just feels like another city for me) (Remix sounds identical to Tour version)
#7 Wii Daisy Circuit 7/10 (I liked this track in Wii so I’m glad it’s here) (However can’t really compare to other tracks)
#8 3DS Rosalina’s Ice World 7/10 (This track isn’t bad but I don’t really think it’s that great) (I would’ve preferred Tour Pipeline)

Usually I don’t mentioned every shortcut since some of them are just simple off road cuts. Though there’s always a chance I missed a larger one!
I completely agree with the whole Rosalina's Ice World segment especially the fact that we didn't get Airship Fortress because of this track.
I like how if you're cool, you can throw a green shell on daisy circuit and do the shortcut in 1st. Of course, you still have to hop through the off-road, it's still pretty cool.
I was hoping you were gonna drag Mario Circuit 3 when you got to Bowser Castle 3 since they’re in the same pass together since it’s the only SNES track with any sort of added elevation
