I took Alice to the everdoor as soon as she asked me too because I just thought she seemed sad before she went, Ik she’s a fictional character but I think every fictional character is still a person who was created by another person, just like you and me
Totally! They all had their own lives and ways they made peace with death. But in real life, you don't get to choose when someone else goes, so I think it's nice that players have the option to spend more time with each spirit if they need to.
I started another save file for this reason. One to take them when they feel they're ready, and one to not feel as bad for telling them no.
I love Alice sm. I cried a little when she said she had to go. I miss her baked stuffs she gives me ever so often. Also our morning and evening walks on the boat. 😭 She’s like my fictional Nan. 😭
Funny thing about the meditation was that Summer kept talking the entire time which ruined the main purpose of the meditation 😂. Gwen was my favourite, letting the others go was fairly easy compared to Gwen cause I missed her throughout the entire game

thank you i didnt know about the windmill i just thought i had to sail my ship around never saw the window,still got the grains but it probly took longer then it needed too
Thanks for watching! Production is definitely slow when letting the mill do its own thing, so once I got to a point where I needed a ton of grain, controlling it myself was totally worth it.

I just got the game for Christmas from my husband and daughter and I'm curious on how well this game will evoke emotion on the level as like Journey. I freaking LOVED that game and when I heard the description of this game I was excited. I love games that really make you involved with the story and characters and really bring a sense of, I don't how to say it better but, "matter" to playing the game. Not many companies and games can do that these days, but I've seen nothing but great reviews on Spiritfarer and the hype for that kind of experience is real for me!
Thanks so much for the quick tips so I don't go in thinking it's a farming sim or that I HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY "move on" from the spirits, but essentially at my own pace, which if I recall, is what the point of the developers was, was learning to say goodbye and learning to live on after the death of someone you cared for. Dealing with death and heartache/heartbreak and realizing that you're not alone in those kinds of feelings and that the life lost should be of recalling the happy memories rather than viewing it as a dark and vile experience.

@@tenchfroast I always thought I needed to have the boat moving in certain windy places to get the windmill to work
I understand anyone that had issues with the Nebula fibers. When I went to the Nebula event nothing was happening with the creature so I thought I needed to progress and didn't know yet that all the events needed a specific spirit for them. I thought the first ones were just tutorial things. I went to every island at least twice and all the walled off sections of the map and then finally decided to check the wiki.
Definitely understandable! I think the first time I saw a Nebula pill bug on the ship, I had no clue why it was there and it just hopped back off.
That's why I always recommend exploring. Any time I wasn't sure about what to do next or what something was, I'd sail around looking for new places and talking to every spirit, including the ones already on my boat. It would always open up something new and suddenly whatever I didn't know before would get explained. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I’ve just started the game and LOVE it. But I’m having troubles getting oak for my snake lady. And I don’t have any iron or coal to be able to upgrade my shop to go through the ice. I feel very much stuck. Also, I’m trying to get the mailbox but Albert only offers blueprint or shop upgrades. I’m confused how to make it work. I have all the materials for it. I would really appreciate your help! 😅
Hey, thanks for being here! For the shipyard, the mailbox is the first boat improvement you can buy. Are you sure you have all of the materials for it? It also costs glims, not just materials. If you have enough, just click "purchase" on it. It'll show a green checkmark on the mailbox confirming you have it. Then it should appear on your boat.
For the oak, you get logs from cutting down trees on islands on the west side of the map. They're early locations. You don't need ship upgrades to reach them. Then you need the sawmill to turn them into planks. The sawmill is part of another spirit's quest so if you don't have the option to build that yet, you're too early to finish the snake's house.
Since you just started, there are a lot of things you just don't have access to yet. Nothing in the game is linear where you can finish all of one spirit's missions in a row. You usually have to explore and do other things before you can get back to helping them, so if they ask you to build something, it may still be a while before you can actually do it. Hopefully this helped a bit!

I am fairly early in this game. I currently have 4 spirits and none of the upgrades to break through barriers. My main issue is that my spirits are ALWAYS hungry, especially the frog. It seems like I feed him and come back 5 minutes later and hes in a bad mood again because hes starving. I wish these guys would auto feed themselves.
Yes, they definitely eat a lot lol That's why I always had food cooking or things growing. There's no inventory limit that I recall, so you can stock up and will eventually be able to cook much more faster. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching the video! All sheets come from the same place. You need to upgrade your blueprint station until you can build a Smithy, then the Smithy will tell you the materials you need to craft each type of sheet, including the clear glass sheet. Hope that helps!

All threads are made in a loom, so you have to get to a point where your boat is upgraded enough to build one. The rest is straightforward because cotton is a plant. Hope that helps!

Having trouble to bounce high enough for the greymist shrine. I do have double bounce ability, just can't jump high enough?
It's been a long time since I played but I remember that getting to the shrine, you need to bounce, double jump and glide in the right places. Mostly on tents. Then some areas you have to ride on the air from the geyser to get higher instead.
So if you can't reach a section and you're positive that you're bouncing and double jumping as high as you can and gliding as far as possible, that may not be the direction you're supposed to go.
If you plant the wrong tree, you can salvage the building and build / plant it /them again.
Yes! People always ask how to actually replace the trees like you can other plants though, which can't be done.

I need help with the bounce. I just cannot get it done. x.x When I hold space I just go into the double jump or the glide, and now I cannot access certain areas. It is so rage-inducing in a game that I play to relax
Thanks for stopping by! Since you're using a keyboard, I can't say for sure that it's the same as on controller, but to bounce, I tap the jump button whenever I land. If you time it right, you'll bounce higher each time. So you shouldn't be holding anything.
Also remember you can only bounce on specific things. Umbrellas, some large trash bins, and some tents. I don't remember if there's anything else.
So when you're at a bouncy object, jump on it and as soon as you come back down, tap jump to go back up. Let me know if that helped!
Great video-best around. Read all comments and didn’t see my question: I am REALLY struggling to get MARBLE to advance the early upgrades, builds, etc. cannot get Zipline either it seems to get the quarry for it. All guides point me to random crates as only answer-I’ve been farming them for hours and only got 2… need 8

Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment! I don't remember the order of things that well anymore so I hope this isn't a spoiler, but I think marble was one of the minerals I planted on Olga's back to get more of it faster. I originally got it at the Southpoint Docks.
Since you have two, plant them on the turtle's back and you'll get extras of them when you mine them. You just have to wait for her to come back up on the map. That should speed things up.
@@tenchfroast thanks this is what I did and it advanced me (also: in one place you can jump up to a spot I didn't know you could and that whole pathway opened up a character--I was basically held back by that one thing--you really have to try to jump to every single place on ever single "level" at some points in the game to ensure you've got everything advancing.

What do you need to operate the shrine? I thought it’s opal HAHAH. I can’t get the Zipline ability because of it.
You need to unlock the zipline ability first. Then you can enter the mine. You need enough obols to unlock the ability at the shrine in Nordweiler but you may not have enough depending on where you are in the game and how much you've explored. Happy sailing!

big question, I just got an orchard and i planted an apple tree in it. My spirit says it's fully grown, but I can't harvest it.
Hey! When you plant a tree, it grows fully, then more time passes while the fruit comes in. Once you see big apples, you should be able to harvest them soon after. If you can't yet, give it some time. A certain spirit can harvest too and they might have gotten in the way. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions!
In the game I am at a point where I need to find Zinc ore to make Zinc ingots and I have found some but only in Southpoint Docks and Flotsam Shores. I need to get the Choral Bouquet and I need 8 Zinc ingots and I only have 4 lol. Is there someway I can find more Zinc Ignots without having to upgrade the ship to find it??? ( I hope this makes sense lol 😅😅)
Hi! If I remember right, I think I got more by planting it on the turtle sisters. Anything you plant on them will give you extra when they pop back up on the map, so you can use it for many resources you need more of. Hopefully that helped!

Hey! I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you mean how to get inside it once you're there? If you mean you can't jump high enough to reach it, that's a part of progression. You can get there after you get the bounce ability.

Hey, thanks for watching! You have to fish for lobster in the snowy ice areas. Every area has different things you can only fish in that setting so whenever you're in a new area, make sure you fish a while to get new stuff.
Hey I have a question, seems no one is able to answer anywhere online, I did everything in the game so far up to the point where I'm supposed to send Gwen off to the ever door, however I didn't talk to Gwen after buying the seeds back in Hummingberg instead I skipped over that by accident and kept going with the entire story till I figured out I needed to go back and finish talking to her, well I did and it completed the quest and that was it, I've 100% completed every other quest before this new one I'm supposed to get to send the spirit off but I never got it, I don't understand if this is a glitch or what but I've spent over a week on the game and It would really defeat me inside if this is a bug and I have to start all over since the quest never pops up for Gwen. I really need help figuring out how to fix this I don't know what else to do. I'm also on Xbox one.
Hey! I might be misunderstanding the issue. Gwen is the first spirit you get. Are you saying that you did all of her quests, so the only quest left should be to take her to the door, but that quest isn't popping up? I'm trying to understand where you are in the game, so if you could answer...
1) Is Gwen your only spirit right now?
2) What is the last quest the game gave you for her or the current quest it shows?
I ask because the game isn't linear where you find a spirit, do all of their quests, then take them to the door. Instead, it's set up where you find a spirit, do SOME of their quests, then they won't have more quests for a while until after you've progressed other parts of the game (found certain new locations, resources, spirits, etc). Since I'm not sure where you are, I don't know if something is glitched or if you're in a part where Gwen just doesn't have any quests.
I think I messed up the quest to get the spirit who I now know is Gustav. He gave me a figurine meant to go to the Collector, but I met Francis along the way and I think I accidentally sold it to him. Now when I go to the Collector, I don’t have the option to give her anything significant? I sint have it in my inventory? Talking to Gustav (still as an anonymous spirit) again I just get “You know what to do!” and when I try to talk to Theodore again, I get the default dialogue. Even tried to buy it back from Francis again, but by the time I realized the problem (after spending about a WEEK or more of in-game days getting NO progress done) he didn’t have it in his inventory anymore.
Is there a way to fix this? Or do I just need to start the game over again? I suppose it’s not SUPER far in, (gotten a total of six spirits on my ship, with three of them taken to the Gate) but it is a little vexing.
It's been a while since I played but as far as I remember, you can't sell quest items like the figurine. Try talking to the Racoon near Gustav again, then when you go back to Susan, check her collections to see if the figurine he gave you is already a part of it. If it is, you need to claim the reward for it before it will trigger anything.
What spirit name can bought you to fire glow?
I think it was Gustav. If you don't see him yet, keep exploring and make sure your game has all the updates it should.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by. All sheets are made in the smithy. Once you unlock in, it lists each sheet type. Just pick clear glass sheet to craft it using whatever materials it says.

Hey there! You won't be able to get gold until much later in the game so if you haven't been playing very long, don't worry about it yet. Once it's time you'll be able to get gold in places like the southpoint docks.
You'll find new spirits as you progress the story with other spirits and find new locations. You can't collect them all at once. If you haven't found one in a while, focus on completing the quests for the spirits you already have to move things along and.m open new places. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi! You kind of control when you get obols since they're tied to the story. You get them from progressing each spirit's quests to a certain point and exploring. I think you can buy one in a shop in Edgeborough. Beyond that, just keep moving forward with your spirits and you'll eventually have enough to unlock the abilities you need. Thanks for stopping by!
When the spirits are gone, can I still play their minigame??? Like gwen's jellyfish game and Atul's lightning game??
Yep! Once they're gone, you can start their minigame by clicking on the icon that pops up on the door of their home. You just have to trigger it first by sailing to the right places. Then you'll be given the option to start the game or not. Hope that helps!

Hi! Obols are used to unlock new abilities at shrines. You pass some shrines while walking around in towns but some shrines are hidden in different places around the map.
You mainly get obols from the spirits you bring on your ship, but they don't always give you one right away. So if you don't have enough, you just aren't far enough in the game. You'll get them over time. You can also get a few from other places I won't spoil. Hopefully that helped! Thanks for watching.

Hey! Thanks for watching. You probably won't regret it. It really depends on how emotionally attached you are to the game and spirits. I mentioned it so people who are attached don't think they HAVE to take the spirits immediately to continue playing. Most players who speed through it won't notice a difference. Unfortunately, it's been so long since I've played, I don't remember where I got the blueprints. You can definitely find a list of locations in a different video or online though.

How do I get cotten I know I can get it in the game because I've got it in a crate but idk where I can actually get it I need it to get gustav's house
Hey there! Did you get cotton seed from the crate? If so just plant it in a field and you'll grow cotton. If you need the seed itself, I think you can buy some at the shop North on the map, Loneberg or Nordweiller, which you can get to if you have the ship's ice upgrade. Hope that helps!

Share that devastation with everyone else then keep playing. It's surprising how it punches you in the gut but manages to bring you back. As emotional as it was, especially the ending, I felt really good afterward. It burdens you then lifts it.
How do you make glass sheet
Hi! Glass sheets are made in the smithy. Pretty much everything in the game is crafted, so if you don't see something, it's because you don't have the building to craft it yet. Always upgrade and build things when you can and you'll get materials when you should. Usually if you can't craft something, it's because you're not far enough in the game or quests yet. Hey! You can only get it from Francis. If you don't see it in his list of errands, it's not available to you yet.
How do i get the Comet powder?
Hi! You need to be far enough in the game to have a crusher to make comet powder, which you make out of comet rock. For pretty much every item in the game, if you haven't seen it anywhere and don't know how to get it, it's because you haven't explored enough or upgraded enough to unlock the things you need. Will the aluminium dragon appear again??? I encountered it but I was not able to jump over it's hump soo I saved and quit the game but it's gone when I continue the game 😥
No worries, you'll see it again. Some things in the game disappear for a while then come back. Once you see it on the map it should be there.

Im late but how do you open your mailbox and or your letters:?
Hey! You unlock the mailbox by adding it to your boat in the shipyard. Once the mailbox is on the boat, you interact with it to get mail if it says you have any and you read it by opening it in your inventory. Hope that helps!
I've played it for 50 hrs and not taken any spirits to the door.. I think I'm doing something wrong but doing know what and it's spoiled my enjoyment of the game. It just feels like repetitive chores.
Hey there! 50 hours is a really long time to not progress the game so I'm not surprised it feels repetitive. You have to take some spirits to the door to progress because you can't upgrade your ship without that. Not upgrading your ship means you can't unlock new areas, find new spirits, or get new quests to move the story forward. You need to do those things to finish the game.
In the video, I suggest not immediately taking spirits to the door as soon as they ask to spend more time with them and learn more about their lives but you can't keep all of them forever. The game requires parting ways eventually.
Go to the shipyard and see what you need to upgrade and how many spirits you need to take to the door to do it. Then pick who you want to say goodbye to and go from there. Hope this helps!
How do I get glass sheets? I can’t figure it out I’ve tried for weeks
Hey there! You craft all sheets in the Smithy, which you can build after you upgrade your blueprint station. You should see the different upgrades when you go to the shipyard. Look all of them over so you know what you can do and what materials you'll need to progress. Hope that helps!

Where is the materials to build summer's house, please help???
Hey there! It's an early house so if you're building it from scratch, it should use basic materials like oak and limestone. If you have her house in your menu, you should have already explored enough to have those. If you mean upgrades to her house after you build it, those materials come later. You can get oak at any of the early areas and limestone from rocks in places like iwashima. Make sure you're actually gathering materials as you explore. Don't rush. Happy playing!

I wonder if somebody can help me? I am playing Spiritfarer, maybe 2hrs in, having a lovely time. But often ill navigate to an island (in yellow with resources listed) and when I get there, there'll be nothing there!? No island, just open ocean. I don't understand it

Hey! Thanks for stopping by. I can only think of a few things unless there's a bug. One, if you use the feature that lets you set multiple locations before sailing, it sometimes skips past the island, so when you stop, you're not actually on it. If that happens, you have to go into the map and select the island again to go back.
Also I think some locations are story based so they don't appear until they're supposed to. So if you try to visit an island based on coordinates you saw listed online for example and you didn't actually unlock that location through progress, there may be nothing there.
Mainly, just make sure when picking where to sail that the name pops up before you click. Sometimes it can look like you clicked on the island but you only clicked the area around it.
I can't think of anything else right now but hopefully, you'll sort it out!
@@tenchfroast thanks for the comprehensive reply! Are all locations named? The ones I was trying to visit were around Albert's shipyard; the icon was two islands side by side, in yellow, a dotted line encircling, resources listed and not greyed out...
Anyway, I'll try again. Even if I can't go to those, I'm sure there are loads of other places to see
Edit: there's an example from your footage at 28secs, on the left, south west of a grey island
Oh! Those aren't islands and there's no name. They're spots where you collect resources from cargo floating in the water. When you sail to one of them, you should see debris in the water as you get close. Then keep an eye out for two things: crates and sparkles in the water. You can jump off the boat to grab the crates and you can swim to the sparkles and dive to get whatever's there.
If you're on the main deck of the boat you can see them easily but sometimes, you might be higher on the boat where the water isn't visible. In that case, the game will show you an icon of a crate so you know there's cargo floating nearby and can come down to grab it if you want. Hope that helped!

Hi! You need a loom and to grow linen. Nearly everything in the game is something you craft or grow, so if you don't have something, just assume you need to build something for it and might not be far enough in the game to do it yet. Thanks for watching!

I saw that when Stella was in the air you had a way to propell her? I've got double jump, gliding with her hat and starting to zipline. But you were doing another jump that got you to islands further away. How did you do that? I use nintendo switch.
Hi! It's another ability you can get from a shrine. I believe it was called dash. You'll get it eventually, along with another you don't have. Just keep exploring. That's a huge thing for progress and unlocking all the skills for Stella and her boat. Sailing around random parts of the map finding new places and spirits.

I like it too. And don't forget that you can actually bring the guitar out and play anywhere in the game at any time. It just doesn't do anything in other places until much later in DLC content.

Yeah, they put out three since it came out and they're all free. The Lily update, the Beverly update, and the Jackie/Daria update. That's the last one for the game so once you've installed all of them, you've got all the content Spiritfarer will ever have.

I don't know how small it looks on Switch. Did you track the materials he needs from the blueprint table? When you go into the blueprint table, then go to the improve section I think and look at the kitchen, there should be an option to track what's needed for the upgrade. Then you can see what's needed when you look at your quest list in the menu. If that's where you're looking at it and it's still too small for you to see, you may need to just google kitchen upgrade materials.

How to get obals?
Hi! Obols mostly come from the spirits that you bring on board so you won't have a lot of them at the start. You need to progress the game more to get enough to unlock abilities at shrines. Thank you for watching!

Hi! You have to upgrade your boat to get more space. Go to the boat yard and look at the upgrades. It tells you how much they cost. You'll learn to jump higher when it's time to learn. You have to explore. Sail around until you find new places. Good luck!

You only get obols from the spirits, so you'll get them as you find new spirits and as you complete quests for the spirits you already have.

You get spirit flowers from spirits after you take them to the door to pass on. Each spirit leaves one flower. Sometimes spirits won't need anything for a while. You can't do all of their quests all at once. You need to just explore and enjoy the world and talk to people. Gwen's quest will move forward when it's ready to. Hope that helps!

Hello! Do you mean you're at the beginning and only have Gwen? You get more spirits by exploring and talking to them when you find them. But some places don't show up until after you finish certain tasks. Whenever you get stuck, work on Gwen's quests, upgrading your boat, and finding new islands. You'll come across new spirits eventually. Happy playing!

No, not at all! You can play however you like. There are just a lot of people who aren't ready for a spirit to go but they send them anyway thinking they have to for the game to continue. I just wanted people to know they can choose to spend some more time with them for a while.

Hi! You can make rice flour once you have the windmill. You put rice in it. If you don't have the windmill yet, you might not be far enough in the game yet. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure which one you're talking about unless you didn't finish the game. All the constellations are tied to the story. If you see one that didn't pop up after bringing a spirit to the door then the game isn't done. Thanks so much for watching!

There’s two I’m not sure of. there’s the one underneath Gwen and the other underneath/between Elena and Alice. One of them is summer but what’s the other one do you know?
I don't like spoiling the game by posting too much about the story. You'll find out who the constellations are for from playing. Just make sure you explore everything and once you have more abilities, go back to places you couldn't get to before to use them. If you really need to know now, I'm sure it'll pop up on google or reddit. Good luck!

Hey there! You have to build a smithy to craft sheets and you can only build the smithy once you upgrade your boat's blueprint table all the way. Hope that helps!

Hi! You get spirit flower after a spirit goes to the everdoor. One flower each. So if you need two, you need to bring two spirits. Hope that helped!

I fucked up, i have 2 apple trees and 2 pear trees, very useless if you ask me
You can't switch the trees but you can destroy the orchards and rebuild, then plant what you really want. It will cost materials but it's worth it to not have the same things.
