Thank you, Eilish and Many Happy Returns! 🥰💚🌿 Definitely very pleased with the quality of the prodct and service by Farmer Gracy so far and really looking forward to seeing the happy, vibrant colours in the cottage garden 😊
Happy new year, great to see you in the garden again. Amazing oca and mashua harvest! And very beautiful carrot and parsnip. Sorry about your hens. 💚 Looks like you're going to get a lot of colour in the spring from those bulbs.☺🤩
Hi, Thank you for following along. Take it all in, don't worry too much what's wrong or right, just enjoy the process and find out first what you like to grow, eat or look at 😍 I'm always learning more from failures than when things go perfectly 💚🌿 Best of luck, its an awesome adventure!
Should plant bulbs in Sep, Happy new year thought you'd vanished. Estonia is not much different too South west Scotland, sun rise 9 and sunset at 4. I have been planting onion sets and early peas today and getting a light tan as was 63 today. We did get some frost, but no snow as yet. You won't get many eggs at this time of year as daylight too short, another month before the start laying regular. Could do with a few of those as I got blight on my winter crop so am now having to buy spuds and that hurts.
Hi Robert! 😀That's some nice and warm weather you're getting there! We had a very cold spell come through... no eggs at this time of the year, indeed, but once the days get longer plus probably have to add more hens to the flock 💚🌿
Thanks a million, wishing you a prosperous, happy and healthy year ahead 🤗💚🌿 The bulb delivery was a pleasure to open, so well organised and great packaging plus healthy bulbs 😊
Happy New Year to you and the whole family. The Oca was lovely! Such big tubers! Now I need to grow Mashua too! I love aniseed! 🥰🥰 What a parsnip and carrot! Both whoppers! Potato harvest was impressive too 🥕😮❤ I’m so sorry you lost your hens. So sad as they’re such huge characters. Take care ❤
Many Happy returns, Clare and thank you 🤗🥰 Hoping to add a few new hens to the flock in spring, once the pullets come available 💚🌿Its nice to try new veggies, especially the perennial types 😀
Hi Maiju 👋 A lovely selection of spring bulbs. I planted some forgotten spring bulbs in January one year and they were fine so I'm sure yours will look lovely. Nice harvest of Oca and Mashua. A huge parsnip and a nice couple of carrots. Lovely potato harvest too. Happy planting in 2025 Linda ❤️ xx
Welcome back, and Happy new year. Sorry to hear about your chickens! That's always so sad when we lose one of our feathered friends. I'm going to order Mashui... Never heard of it before at all! So thankyou for letting me k ow what it is, what it tastes like and how to grow it! And wow!!! What a harvest you had!! 👏👏👏👏👏 Xx
Many Happy returns! 🥰 Thank you for your kind comment 💚🌿 All the best for growing Mashua, I hope you'll like it, really easy plant to grow and pretty foliage 😀
Happy NY to you too. I was surprised that snow didn’t make an appearance in your lovely video. You must have been spared🙏🏻🙏🏻. All the pics. I’ve seen from Irl. recently look more like Canada 😱. Wish I could harvest veg. in Jan here in Edmonton but watching others like yourself enjoy your gardens is next best. Lovely selection of bulbs. I’ll have to get some Tete a Tete daffs. All the online gardeners that I watch grow them too. I have other daffs, tulips, crocuses. I tend to just pick up what I find and not make special orders. Look forward to more of your videos this year.
Many Happy returns, Breda to you in wintery Edmonton! 😊 Wait until this weeks' video, due on Thursday 😂😂 You'd think I had photoshopped it all! Delighted I had managed to get those jobs done before the ''Snowmageddon'' 😂😂 especially when just 4 inches of snow will bring the whole country (Irl) to a standstill... Tet a Tete are so cute and cheerful, definitely recommend getting some for your garden 😊💚🌿
Lovely update Maiju, I'm sure your bulbs will look great, shame about the mouldy sun chokes, hopefully the company will replace them for you. Lovely harvest at the end, your oca and mashua(?) were lovely colours, I grew oca a few years ago and mine were an orangey colour with red veins, they tasted great. Will you replace your hens? Take care 😊
I reached out to the supplier and yes, new tubers have been promised, which is a relief 😊, We do plan to add new hens to the flock in spring when the pullets become available. the hens are beautiful and great characters 🥰
I find Farmer Gracy excellent especially when they have offers on! Bulbs have always been good quality and a good size. Those iris are lovely and best in a pot where you can see them - in the greenhouse even. I don't think you will be short of Jerusalem artichokes!! Very best wishes for 2025. Thank you for sharing your christmas. We have plenty of snow in north west England and I really don't like it. Good bye to your sweet hens. You have such good crops from your potato pots. What compost do you use? Thank you. Also do you pickle your oca?
Happy new year to you, Viv 🤗 and Thank you for your kind comment 💚🌿 I'm delighted to hear you have also had really positive experience with Farmer Gracy 😊 And I agree with you on the Irises, I have a couple of terracotta pots around, they'll be perfect in them 💚🌿 😀 I should be getting replacement red tubers from the supplier 🤞 and lets hope after that, the 2 varieties will be plenty for us 😊 We have been buried in snow for the last week, but by Monday a big thaw will free us up 😀 I use any compost that I can buy at a reasonable price, peat free preferably, but I do add seaweed granules and either chicken manure pellets/ or fish, blood and bone to be base soil mix with the tubers, before filling the pot with standard compost...you can see how I do it in my ''April Gardening'' video and ''Planting Potatoes'' (Feb-March) video from last year 💚🌿 I don't pickle the oca, but I do want to try it with Mashua. Have you pickled it?
@spudsandroses Sorry no I haven't pickled it. I saw a video of someone who had pickled it but there wasn't much detail. I'm sure it's out there somewhere. Just thought it might be an option if you had a large harvest.
Ahh your doggy is SO cute. I have done pretty much 0 tulip planting this year and I'm already starting to regret it... you are making me wonder whether I can get some last minute bulbs in still though. Lovely update and happy new year to you!☺
Many Happy Returns, Dora 🤗💚🌿 Thank you for your kind comment 🥰 You might find some late flowering varieties to pop in. Some garden centres might still have bulbs left 💚🌿
The oca look so pretty - do the whole family enjoy them? I’ve never eaten one and am dithering over whether to give it a go or save the space for something I know for sure everyone likes.
Hi Emma 😀 Oca is nice, and our whole family eats it. We are adventurous enough with flavours and textures 😅 and def not picky eaters.....considering how much you already have in your hands to build and plant, you could easily let it go for another season or two, before trying it and get the rest of proven household staples growing 😊
Oh no! That's such a shame about the red artichokes. Clare gave me some dwarf artichokes and I just threw them in a bucket of compost in the polytunnel while I decide where they'll go. They'll hopefully be fine like that until I pop them out.
@spudsandroses oh that's good! What's the name of the supplier? I might see if they have mashua in stock. Can't find any over here, though possibility places will be restocking as they harvest in the next few weeks? Edit - found it in your description!
Happy New Year 🎉
This year, are you more interested in growing ornamental plants or edibles?
Great to see you back, Happy New Year!
Many Happy Returns! 🥰💚🌿
Happy new year, great to see you back. I’m a big fan of framer gracy myself. I’m also very sorry to hear of the loss of your 2 hens.

❤️❤️❤️ Have a great week, too! 💚🌿

Many Happy Returns 🤗🥰 I'd love to see the cottage garden full of happy colours in spring, so fingers crossed the bulbs will do ok and grow strongly 😀
It is lovely to see you back!! 💚💚💚 It is fab to get a nice long video. I am going out in the garden now too! 🙂

Oo I've still got summer snowflake to put in - my mum has them in her garden and they're lovely
Yes, they should look lovely 😍

Happy New Year, Ali 🤗💚🌿 The very best of everything to you 🥰
Lovely harvests Maiju. I'm so tempted to do mashua next year 🙈🙈 That carrot was a thing of beauty! Sorry to hear about your hens 😔❤
Thank you Kerry 🤗 Oca is def nicer when roasted as there is a stronganiseed flavour from Mashua, but the raw version of it is class 💚🌿
Hi Maiju 👋
A lovely selection of spring bulbs. I planted some forgotten spring bulbs in January one year and they were fine so I'm sure yours will look lovely.
Nice harvest of Oca and Mashua. A huge parsnip and a nice couple of carrots. Lovely potato harvest too.

Happy New Year Maiju, Sorry to hear about the hens. I've still got bulbs to plant just waiting for the snow to go. Nice harvest.
Happy New Year Ady! ...the snow is something else this January 😂 I'm quite glad I managed to get as many of the bulbs in as I did...

@dogontheplot 😊 you'll have so much land at hand now you'll be emptying out all of the garden centres 😂😂
@spudsandroses 👀🤣
Spring bulbs- better late than never. I guess if your ground is not frozen , you can plant them - otherwise there are always pots.
Absolutely 😍💚🌿
