I'm doing the bird watch at my new allotment this year. I only get pigeons at my roof garden so I'm very excited, I've already seen 17 different types of birds so I'm hoping a few turn up Sunday.

Add soooo chuckle every time they pop over!! I have even paused the video and called people to the TV or the phone. It's entertainment for the ages. *I'd love to see a compilation video of "popover chickens" or "chicken pop pie"😂❤

That will end up being Monday May 5th!! That is sort of ironic isn't it? Your 5 years celebration will be on the 5th day of the 5th month!!??
Wow! Anything that we ask for will just be more work for you, as the editor...
But here goes, because you asked!!
I think the cutest thing would be giving us all the chicken popping that you can muster!!
I mean, I soooo chuckle every time they pop over their little run fence into the aisles!! I have even paused the video and called people to the TV or the phone. It's entertainment for the ages. *I'd love to see a compilation video of all of the chickens that you've had over the years!!
You can call it 5 years of "popover chickens" or "chicken pop pie"😂❤

To save on plywood because, yes you're right it's expensive.
Put supports on your main box sides to rest a shelf onto and then the partitions can be screwed to that shelf. With a small strip at the front for some support. You wont have worry about doing all the sides and top as you already have them as the main box😊 Great video, keep it up.

We both know those girlies have access to the same internet we do. As soon as you head home they gather around their cell phone and look on the Harrods web site to see how much you did (or did not) spend on those great nesting boxes. If it's not on Harrods it will not be good enough! 🤣😂🤣
    Those germinations look FANTASTIC!!! Woohoo!!
I've got so many new birds in my garden this year. I am going to have to get identifying and recording to celebrate the weekend! Not as part of the RSPB survey, since I am in Florida... just for the fun of it!

When and if you are redoing the boxes for the chickens, you should separate them vertically, not horizontally, otherwise you still cannot get them out without pulling the house forward (to open the top further).

❤Snow on beds here and starting seeds indoors while the greenhouse holds safe a few last summer herbs. I put used seed packets in a baggie and hang it on the bulletin board marked with the year so I know details of varieties of seeds planted beyond my plant marker names.

It seems to me Lilly might be a norwegian Forestcat, as far as I know, the only breed, that is capable of leaving a tree like you described it. I had one my self, many years ago and she looked just like her. And they are very talkative and social. 🥰

Wow, Kudos on your 250th video!
I started watching your blog because my dog likes watching gardening shows and seems to enjoy watching yours the most. She perks up and pays attention to every word you say.
Thanks for making a brilliant series, I like your unstaged approach and transparency with things you try and don't always turn out as expected. Very inspiring to watch when my own gardening doesn't go as well as I had hoped.
    Many thanks,

Huge cheers to 250 vlogs Jessie, what an amazing achievement. Over the last (nearly) 5 years, you have introduced me to Chard (who knew it could be so pretty, so delicious, versatile and easy to grow) and my now favourite potatoes Red Duke of Yorks. Several new tomato varieties over the years have found their way into my must grow lists as well, perennial veg like 9 star broccoli and tree cabbage and Cavolo Nero. All now staples in my own veg garden. Thank you.

If you can get your hands on wooden boxes they make good chicken boxes. If they are large you could get two and divide each one. Just a thought. You could look at garden places, possibly supermarkets for second hand. If you have a Buy Nothing system in your country you could ask on there if anyone has any wooden boxes to give away etc. Love your videos. Love from Perth Australia.

Get some fake eggs or even golf balls put one in each nest box it will encourage them to use them, if a cat gets up a tree or whatever it can get itself down just open a tin of it's favourite food and place it at the base of the tree, our cat catches and kills mice voles rats and squirrels on a regular basis, he once brought home a live pole cat and let it loose in the kitchen then walked away leaving Jean and I to deal with this spitting ball of fluff and unbelievable anger and ferocity, eventually managed to shue it out the door

In the sign writing industry they use a product called coreflute. It is a plastic version of sandwiched corrugated cardboard, really hard wearing and strong. I'm just wondering if it would be an option for you to use for the nesting boxes, being plastic it might be more user friendly when cleaning. If you ask them the sign writer might even cut your pieces to size for you. Cheaper option. This is the name of it in Australia but I assume there is a British counterpart. Worth investigating. 🥰😻😻🌱
