I am in the USA and am Native European-American. (as in a white person) - I'm saying that to say that I have no known heritage to the land. When I was a child my mother would read to me. When she read stories about Morocco and show me pictures in books, it would send chills over me even as a child. It was, mystical, powerful and ever so beautiful to me. I hope one day to see it. In the meantime, seeing videos like this lift my spirit. It is almost as if you can feel the presence of the past still there, strong as ever.

beaitiful clip, beautiful place, good job with the camera and audio.I went past the place 20 yrs ago.It is majestic when you see it in reality. One thing nobody has mentioned as yet. Those buildings are built of sand, straw clay and water all excavated from the same area. No cement, or steel rebar was used, and if or when some day it is past their date, they crumble bach to earth without doing damage to the envirment. Our modern buildings rape the planet to supply the building industries with materials most of them toxic.
In most parts of africa all children till age 16 have been taught how to build their house. We,people of the 1st and 2nd world countries have to get a mortgage for our house that takes us till the age of 65 to pay back.I do not know which is the better system.
Ianto evans has written an excellent book about cob buildings '' the hand sculpted house ''
He revolutionized cob building for our times.
    greetings from Malta.

I ordered a beef tagine at a fancy restaurant at Ben Haddou and all I got were bones and cartilages under the legumes. I complained to the server and he said not his fault, the kitchen guy is at fault. But he gladly cashed the full 130 dirhams, more than double the price of that dish in Marrakesh. Some unscrupulous people do not understand that screwing a tourist is easy but keeps a very sour taste in our mouths. Under developed country.

I know that, but that is not the point. If I say I got robbed in Paris, that does not mean I could not be robbed in Berlin or Jakarata.
