I took my 1978 BMW R80/7 for its first ever road trip and it was a long ride up to the scottish highlands for the wildcat rally!
it was Cold and Wet riding up but i had a great time i think i will have to go back again

Boxer engines are great indeed, in iffy weather, for keeping the feet warm. / I really enjoyed the mountain road views.
Just need some sort of screen and maybe something to keep the wind off the hands 🥶🥶🥶
That was really enjoyable to watch! Even with the shaft issue that you guys had to fix, I would consider it a massively successful trip on the bike. You really had it well sorted out ahead of time.

Scotland is amazing but dont bite off too many miles a day i had a few 13 hour days on the bike
