I can see that you were doing the right things and took some medicine (Bitburger beer) for you Heyfever. My dad always said beer/alcohol is medicine :)
just came across this how nice it is to get away think i mite go alown this year saves the hasel of outhers how meny miles were you doing in a day im planning on 200 ish a day for two weeks but could be more i got a vstrom 1000
You would love it Archie, solo travel is brilliant…wherever I go people come talk to me and genuinely interested in bike and journey, in the past when i travelled in groups people seem to be put off about approaching the group! Mileage was varied, first and last day was about 400 miles each but for the rest of trip it was a little as 50 miles on a extremely relaxed day and 250 on a long day 😂 It all depends what you want, I like just making it up as I go along, stopping off where and when I want…its more meandering than travelling but I love it! Hope you gave a great trip, in my opinion just have a general idea where you want to go and then make it up as you go along 👍🏻
Sorry to put a comment here which is not applicable to this post. Unfortunately I can not see a way to just message you and I do not use Facebook, if that is a way to contact you. I just watched your video about the Nemo2 oiller but can not find a follow up about your opinion as to whether it worked OK or not
No problem Pete, I haven’t done a follow up but will be doing one soon having used it continuously for over a year now and in a position to offer valid feedback! In a nutshell it’s very good and has performed without issue keeping the chain oiled particularly when away from home, and most recently on a 11 day trip to Europe didn’t need a refill until got home. I do put a small bit of cardboard under the chain when garaged, but that’s more for if I’m working on the bike or loading it and catch the oil container moving it slightly as this can cause a couple of drops to come out, but that’s only because of catching it and thus ever so slightly moving it (if that makes sense)
@@thecampingbiker791 Many thanks. Will still look look forward to your follow up. I have only recently purchased another bike with chain drive to go alongside my shaft driven one. Used to have scotoiler in the past but looking for another option.
Much better camping than in UK, that's for sure
It’s definitely better weather 😂
Wow what awesome roads! I just passed north of the border (around Saarbrücken) and it was absolutely terrible. Next time through France it is!
Definitely a nice bit of Northern France 👍🏻

Your Dad has a certain wisdom 😊
I love Bitburger beer
Certainly enjoyed it that evening 😂
