- I install the NEW Autobeam Performance LED Puddle Light upgrade for my Ford Focus RS!
The Autobeam Performance puddle kit consists of 2 of their LED puddle units. These replacement units dont simply replace the old bulbs but fully replace the whole unit and have a full LED panel incorporated inot the new housing!
These LED units are easy to install and are super bright!
In this video, I do the the install, giving you an overview of the step by step process so you can have the performance LED puddle light upgrade from Autobeam in your Ford Focus RS in no time!
As the units require no additional resistors or parts, changing from the old bulbs/housings to the Autobeam LED version, gives an extra modern, stylish look and functional benefit to the Focus RS in a very short amount of time!
The old puddle bulbs work of course but when you upgrade to these new Autobeam units you will see just how much better these are!
The Autobeam LED puddle housing are a perfect fit so have a nice OEM look. The LEDs are also instant instant on/off and should last longer than the standard bulb.
The Autobeam Performance LED Puddle upgrade gives a wider spread of light on the ground and around the door in general so are much more useful than standard and are a very clean, white light as opposed to being a sort of yellow colour like the standard bulbs!

I watched your video on installing the Autobeam sequential LED strips for the mirrors. I bought a set of sequential LEDs for my Focus ST and have had a hard time trying to install them since I don't really have the right set of tools. I had no idea you could just pop off the side mirror so easily and didn't even consider it. This is going to help me with the installation. So, even though this video is for a different car (Not all that different though, eh?) I just wanted to say thanks because it still helped out!

It is a very simple change, looks way better. If you combine it with changing the sequential blinkers, it is even easier to get the cover off.

I'm loving my Autobeam lights, I didn't see any puddle lights for the little FiST but will keep an eye out. These look so crisp and clear. Another nice vid 👌

Hello Adam, another great video, you make it look so easy to fit. Very interesting this one but I think I will only replace when the original brake. However I loved the video. ( I say this after I watched your Mountune charge pipe upgrade and then I ended up going for the full Mountune host kit! 😱😱😂
I probs wouldn't have thought of it by Autobeam asked me to review before release so I went for it! Nice one on the hard pipe, I was looking at potentially getting the hoses there a couple of days ago but they were out of stock in black (classic Mountune I know lol)

@@MrLiipasin yes, eventually! I had to cut a bit off as it was to big for the housing on the mirror. Poor quality for the money.
@@neilospencer i got it done also just a minute ago. I shaved little bit off from the led housing and little bit off from the underside of mirror where led housing "clicks". And with brute force got them to click. Maybe there are some variances in the mirrors, Adam's led's went in nicely.

another good informative video AR. I have the replacement bulbs from Autobeam already. I would be surprised if these new units are sufficiently brighter to replace those? However, the replacements I got from Autobeam are much better than the stock bulbs. So def worth considering if folks are on the standard lighting.
I'm not sure if they would be significantly brighter Gary, these are just a new product that Autobeam are going to be selling soon!

Great vid, and I wish my 18 RS came with puddle lights but My ST had 'em and I miss 'em, A LOT!! I didn't even know RS' came with 'em at all... or is it a US thing not having 'em? I really want to have puddle lights again :(

Do you know if power folding mirror with puddle lights will work on a 2008 Focus wiring etc?
I would imagine they are pretty similar if not the same, the mirror design didn't really change much between mk2 and mk3

Having difficulty fitting these. Got a set for my mk3 late 2013 titanium and the edge with the clip will not fit as one corner seems bigger than the corner cut out in the mirror?
No, I found fitment to be perfect

Do the U.S. RSs have this or is this a UK only option? I don't remember seeing these on the RSs I've seen stateside

@anonamos6086 funny thing since then I've discovered the STs atleast the PFLs have the puddle lights, so a retrofit would be possible, I wonder if the circuitry is all the same on the UK and US MK3 models, if so, then it would be very easy to install
I'm having no end of problems trying to drop the original housing. It almost feels stuck. Any ideas?
Have you removed the little screw?
@@AdamRainey yeah I had done. I gave up in the end and just put the OEM housing back in the other side (which I had been able to get out easily enough) and bought some LED W5Ws. Seems okay and saved me breaking anything in the mirror itself.

UPDATE: Arrived today ... one day turn round amazing!! Fitment was spot on and they give a nice white light and much "cleaner" than OEM

hey what rpm do you usually shift threw
Depends on what I'm doing, normally I work by sound and feel rather than specific rpm. The answer is probably about 4-5k. If driving the folks about I will granny shift tho and if playing with launch control then probably about 6k

Not sure, even over here not every RS has puddle lights to upgrade to these so a closer look on your particular car would be required
Hello adam. I just bought these today but found it a massive struggle getting it into the drivers side. The passenger side went in perfectly and the original drivers side would come out and go back in with ease. But the autobeam one just wont go in. Any idea why? Tia
Possibly something is bent. When you say it won't go in, does is go in and not click or does it not make it all the way into the hole?

Why not just change the bulb?
It is a fully sealed unit - you would break it if you tried opening it. So effectively this is changing the 'bulb'
@@AdamRainey What is a sealed unit? Once you take out the bulb you can just replace the bulb and refit it. I just did it this afternoon.
My rs sucks, it doesn't have all the good stuff like these
My only concern is when it rains. The plug is to exposed to water.
No it isn't, it is sealed as much as the stock bulb by the rubber socket
