I love this content and love watching the progress, I'm so interested by this stuff so I hope you keep making content but I hope it's fun for you to make it too Also: I would love to know the functions of your iron man suits. What parts move. What parts might light up. Are there noisemakers in the suit. Etc.
I'd been enjoying my printer for a month before my downstairs neighbors complained. The noise was fine until it got to a big print and was darting all over. Just put these in... thank you so much for this guide because I couldn't have done this without your help. Ive also created a custom floor and tabletop system to hopefully absorb anything that was still making noise
U can basically cut a thin rubber pad in correct dimension and use it . This how your stepper motor wont just hang from 2 screws and in time ruin your belt. and it will save you money however your Motor will run little bit warmer because the metal body is acting as a heatsink . you can later use a small heatsink but I wouldn't recommend because i used this method on my 3D printers (CR10s) and 4x ender 3's and all of them are still working great for almost 4 years. For better noise cancelling you can try changing your Fan's to a better ones with less noise and by far the best nois cansel ing method would be to put your printer on a thin block of concrete and put a big foam under. By this method you will almost eliminate the vibration your printer creates and will greatly reduce the nois.. just like how "cnc kitchen" explain's in one of his video. Also if you want ro be extremely intense.. you can swap your stepper motor drivers for better ones . Thats how i have all my 5 FDM 3Dprinters and my DLP printer quite.
Think you just talked me into installing dampeners... I'm curious if you have considered building an enclosure for your printer. Mine not only cut down in noise, but helped keep temperature consistent.
@@EmilyTheEngineer Ha Ha, I get that! Mine took about a month to gather pieces. Still gathering egg crate foam. Just for speed, and convenience I bought the $9.99 "Lack" tables from IKEA. Had to extend the legs 5", but it's worked out nicely.
If In the future I don’t see you on TV and UA-cam as a famous Mechanical Engineer that owns her own Company that created the real world’s first Arc Reactor, then I CHOOSE NOT TO LIVE. Toats Jk, Love Your Content. You are the bomb.^__^
if you truly wana silence a CR-10 the way to go is with the upgraded silent board. after a year of wewuu noices i finaly gave up and switched. never looked back!
Hello there, ik it’s prolly been a while since this vid but i plan on building a small sound box out of plywood and sound foam from amazon for my printer. just an idea
Thank you so much for this video!!! After you are done do you need to calibrate the machine if let's say the x axis was moved during the process? Or just do an auto home after?

Hello there.
General kenobi
You are a bold one
doesnt work for CR10S because the stepper motor gears cant be adjusted out to align with the belt

I honestly want to build at least one, just been dreading getting together all the materials.. haha

Theyre behind the sticker! SMH Out of 20 damper videos youre the only one to show that. Thanks!

Hey Emily I do not have a 3d printer myself but I am thinking about buying one wich should I get if I want to do big projects like the iron man helmet

General kenobi!
General kenobi
Just bought mine and it super LOUD. Gonna try this
The big tree tech skr mini is also a great way to silence a printer. I installed one on my ender 3 and it made a night and day difference.
what kind of Cr-10 do you have?
What 3D printer is she using?
Hi love the vids

Dampers, not dampeners. Dampeners are for making things wet, not quiet.
