BoredPotato that’s because they don’t get how alleles work. If yone of our father’s parents had green eyes, that’s why. If your father has two brown eyed parents, then THEIR parents (your great grandparents) can still determine your eye color
He’s saying that if anyone in your family has history of green eyes, just because your parents themselves don’t doesn’t mean you wouldn’t. Your children could have blue eyes even if you marry someone with brown eyes (even if it may be not as likely) all because of your father’s blue eyes.
@@TheMmc120 But the thing is nobody in my family bothers family dads family or anyone tahts related to me have green eyes me and my brother just do my grandparents from my mothers side have brown eyes and from my dads side has blue eyes 😬
These eye possibilities are not true. It depends on the other alleles of each parent, not just their eye color phenotype. If a parent has brown eyes with two brown alleles and the other has blue eyes, then every child will have brown eyes. However, the child could have a brown and a blue allele, meaning if they marry a blue-eyed person, their children would have 50% chance of having blue eyes and 50% chance of having brown eyes. Without specifying the alleles of each person, this is worthless.
Lotte Stuart oooh! I like this extra info!! I have one blue and one green -eyes are amazing to me!! (well, I say that NOW but I spent many many years looking at the ground after horrific bullying as a child -even by a teacher! And a few other adults!)
This video is completely inaccurate. It all depends on what alleles you inherit from your parents. The unseen allele is underlying and may still affect a child.
The unseen allele is the recessive allele, which would mean if you had one, you'd just be a carrier. It would only show up if you had a child with another carrier of that gene. So like, my dad has blue eyes, and my mom has brown eyes. I have brown eyes, but I am still a carrier of the blue eyed allele. If I had a child with someone else that was also a carrier of the blue allele, there would be a 25% or so of the child to have blue eyes. But, also, there are co-dominant factors within the allele which would also make green eyes a small possibility. This video isn't inaccurate, but it spaced over the topic of carrier alleles and never talked about green eyes being a co-dominate trait for blue eyes x blue eyes or brown eyes x brown eyes.
Thats impossible then, blue eyes are recessive genes, (aa). And green is a codominant trait (Aa). That means there is a mystery person in the equation 0.0, (as to how you recieved green eyes).
My parents both have brown hair, and I have blonde hair. My dad has green eyes, and my mum has brown eyes. My eyes are blue. They're both right handed, I'm left handed. I'm starting to wonder if I'm adopted, especially because my sister looks like them too😂
Rosalina Green your parents most likely carry a blue eyed gene which means there's a chance any other children they have would have blue eyes. Same goes for the blonde hair gene.
Emma Louise nahhhhhh they never mentioned hazel eyes OR green/blue eyes so.... my dad’s eyes are hazel, my moms eyes are light blue, and mine are green. I think I got it from the slight hue of green in my dad’s “brown” eyes.
The video showed less than 1% of brown, 75% Green and 24% Blue. They just rounded up. Since the brown isn't even 1% the other part of the 1% went to the 24% Blue which they rounded up to 25%. 0.xx% Brown was rounded to 1% and 24.xx% was rounded to 25%

Did anyone realize that at 1:46 the narrator said 25% chance of blue instead of 24% chance of blue!!! It's okay we're all human, but just thought it was funny!Like if you didn't notice!
All eyes are blue Brown is the colour of the pigment When you have green eyes that means you have the blue eyes showing but with brown pigment in front, the mix becomes green eyes.
My dad is italian, my mom is Irish. My brother has strawberry blonde hair, PALE A** skin, and brown eyes. Me and my other brother have brown eyes, olive skin, and very very dark dirty blonde hair. We all have freckles. My friend is pale with blonde hair, blue eyes, her mom is white and dad is black, and her brothers are dark. She's not adopted. My brother with blonde hair, my great great grandma had red hair and she was the only one.
The video is wrong. Each trait is expressed by two alleles. In that case, the allele for the Brown eyes is dominant to the allele for the green eyes which is dominant to the allele for the blue eyes. Your dad's genotype must be Blue/Blue and your moms must be Brown/green. You have green eyes so your genotype is green/Blue The chance for you to have green eyes wasn't 0% but 50%
Well it depends, if you were or a women and you have Asian colorings and you marry a man with blonde hair and blue eyes, your baby will have a 75 percent chance of having brown eye's, one present chance of having green eyes, and 34 percent chance of having brown eyes. Your race truly doesn't effect what your baby will look like, what matters is the fact of your colorings, and that darker colorings are stronger than lighter colorings, if you married a white person it would be more likely your baby would look like you, with a lighter skin tone. If you married an African American your baby would probably look more like your spouse. But if you married an Asian. Your baby's colorings will look similar to both of you.
It's not that simple, my dad has blue eyes and my mom has brown eyes, but my sister has green eyes. If Mom and Dad are brown-haired, their children may be blond, and this is not uncommon.
i still can happen but it's very rare for the kid to look white (with blue green eyes e.t.c) when one of the parents is black, the black gene is still very dominant though.
Martha Belton not true, I am black and my mom has brown eyes and my dad has grey eyes and I came out with blue/grey eyes and even I don't know anyone in my family that has that color combination!?🤔
I knew a girl in grade school who had blond hair. One of her brothers had red hair, the other had brown. Their mother's hair was black, the father was graying.
My mom has blue eyes and my dad has brown eyes, one of my brothers have brown eyes then my other brother and I have green eyes, but yet this video says there is 0% chance for that, wth
I think the reason for blue plus blue is because blue is a VERY recessive eye color, brown isn’t recessive, so a very recessive eye color can cancel it out entirely, Green is definitely recessive, but not as recessive as Blue, the 1% could also be from a pigmentation error. I was probably guaranteed to have Blue eyes because my parents and my grand parents all have Blue eyes.
One of your parents would be a "genetic carrier" of the Green-eyed gene. This means that one of their ancestors either had green eyes, or was a carrier of the genetic themselves. It is more rare for this to occur especially since one of your parents has brown eyes, which is a 'dominant genetic' meaning it is most likely going to be the outcome.
I have heterochromia. My right eye is blue and my left eye is brown. There is a personal video on the main part of my channel about my eyes specifically if interested.
squitten mega mushroom's kitten Yeah but those aren't actually eye colors. If they were red would be a version of auburn which is a version of brown. Then the yellow would come from green or maybe auburn.
Both my parents have blue eyes. My mom has brown hair, my dad has red hair. I have red hair and blue eyes. My brother has blondish redish hair with blue eyes.
I always knew my kids were awesome little rarities :) My husband and I have four kids, my eyes are hazel/green and I have almost black curly hair. My husband has brown eyes and dark brown straight hair. All of our kids happened to come out with curly blonde hair and blue eyes :) They received the recessive blue eyes from my Paternal Grandmother and the blonde hair from my husband's mother. Amazing.

Im a southeast asian (specifically Indonesian) but my grandfather’s eye color are silver to light brown, and *some* of his family has also a colored eyes....which is *REALLY RARE* for asians to get that......but sadly he had passed away 😔
@The cringy kid on the internet update?
What?????????
My mom have blue eyes
Daddy have Green eyes
I HAVE BROWN EYES
emm (everybody makes mistakes)
im sorry to say this you are adopted
I have the exact problem but no we are not adopted we are just rare
Beat Rey It's probably ur Grandparents or Ansectors eyes that are brown
AJDash no no one in my family has brown except me
My father: green eyes
My mother: blue eyes
Me and my brother: brown eyes
WTF?
Bruno 10 it's cause brown eyes genes are dominant and came from your parents from somewhere in the family
C'est JusTeen, genes can skip and have mutations. It is not impossible by any means.
Maybe from my grandparents!
My father's eyes are really green!
My grandparents have brown eyes, maybe it's the reason I have brown eyes. But 0% probability does not exist.
The eye thing is 98% not true you don't know the future my parents have dark brown eyes and me and my brother have blue eyes as well as my grandpa so ya... your colour can be from your grandparents ;)
Edit: ty for spending your time reading this :D
3:18 watch this part same w me tho my parents had brown eye and all my siblings even all my cousins but only my grandma had greenish and I have green too
Nina Nikolovska what color are the mailman’s eyes?
Mikey Tello blue
Kazuhira Miller that's cool
Nina Nikolovska My great grandmother has the bluest eyes I've ever seen, and she's African American with about 35% Scandinavian. But my father doesn't have blue eyes because his mother had blue eyes but not my grandpa. So I'm 17% Scandinavian with hazel eyes.
Son: "AHHH this video makes so much sense!!"
Mom: "...you're adopted.."
*MY DAD:BROWN EYES*
*MY MOM:BROWN EYES*
*MY BROTHER:BROWN EYES*
*ME:GREEN EYES*
*My Mum: hazel green eyes*
*My Dad: very dark brown eyes*
*Me: Light brownish eyes*
*well I don't really care anyways* *JK! I JUST WANT MY MUMS EYES I DON'T WANT A MIX OF MY DADS AND MY MUMS!!!!*
Ira Ribičić I hope my daughter eyes stay green. She's one month old my eyes are brown, my wife eyes are brown & her son eyes are brown but, our daughter eyes turned from blue to green hopefully they stay green.
Milk man?
Your my twin!!!

Brown + Brown eyes: 1:07
Brown + Green eyes: 1:20
Brown + Blue eyes: 1:32
Green + Green eyes 1:40
Green + Blue eyes 1:51
Blue + Blue eyes 2:00
Brown + black=?
My dad has brown eyes and my mom has blue eyes. I have green eyes: there are not 0% of having green eyes 😎
Same here. I have dark brown eyes and husband has bright blue and our daughter has green eyes
Soo true
Hannah Halvorsen Green squad💚
Y’all be adopted.
My mom has brown eyes and my dad has blue eyes on. My eyes are hazel but appear to green because hazel likes to change color. That or you could have green eyes from gramma and grampa
My brother has green eyes and my parents have brown eyes and I have brown eyes :( he is lucky that he was born with green
I'm half Iranian guy and have dark Green/Grey eyes!
well theres a „0%“ chance i have brown eyes but yet here i am
ADOPTED
Elisabeth I’m the same. I’ve even questioned my parents over it as my science teacher said it wasn’t possible and I had to be adopted or not my dads. I punched a locker and broke a knuckle, you’d think if I was that would get it out of them but I’m definitely my mums as she said she definitely gave birth to me and I get really confused watching these videos
@@mermaidgirl1890 thats really rude to say bc you can carry two genetics like someone has blue eyes but still she haves a chance of the baby get green eyes of the second gene
fennekin :3 okay snowflake
Did everyone just forget about mutations?
Did anybody else notice that for the both green parents he said “25” percent blue but it said 24 percent blue 🧐🧐🧐
Ya
Cheerleader Taylor yup
Cheerleader Taylor I did notice that I’m glad I’m not the only one
Cuz he said about brown its less than 1 but still is a chance tgats because you are welcome
Yea😂 I was scroll in comments to see if anyone noticed it to
Dad: blue eyes blond hair white skin
Mum: brown skin black eyes light brown hair
Me: blue eyes light brown hair and tan skin
I love that combo. It's different and beautiful.
Wow!
Namjoonie
Armyyyyyyy
You sound so like you are very pretty
Wait when you said 0% green eyes for parents having blue and brown eyes.
My older brother had blue eyes (50% blue)
I have green eyes. ??? I don’t get it it’s 0%
same here!!
No matter what eye/hair/skin color you have, you're beautiful ❤
@Solia Moon omg I am a very big fan i love your channel
@Solia Moon
Not necessarily
That not helpful
Okay but like not EVERYBODY is beautiful on the outside (not trying to be rude, just being honest)
Did anyone realize that at 1:46 the narrator said 25% chance of blue instead of 24% chance of blue!!! It's okay we're all human, but just thought it was funny!Like if you didn't notice!
I did
My mum has brown eyes, my dad has blue eyes yet i have green eyes
Lol boat Games Same
Lol boat Games saaaame xD
Lol boat Games same
Lol boat Games same
All eyes are blue
Brown is the colour of the pigment
When you have green eyes that means you have the blue eyes showing but with brown pigment in front, the mix becomes green eyes.
I think he meant 24% blue and not 25%
Grace Playz its simple math.. 0+75+25=100 0+75+44=99 its 25..
βεηdγ αηd τhε cΓiηgε Μαchiηε but the chance of brown eyes is 1%, not 0%
Grace Playz lol
Ikr
Bendy and the ink machine get out of internet.. everyone saw this: 1% brown, 74% green and 24% bllue.. 1+24+74=100
How can this happen
Brown eyes + Blue eyes
Brown= 50% Green=0% Blue=50%
My mom has brown eyes
My dad has blue eyes
and I have green eyes
ZoellaGamer 123 uh oh, someone cheated!! Lol
ZoellaGamer 123 genes can skip generations someone might have had green eyes from your family OR you are adopted
The video is wrong. Each trait is expressed by two alleles. In that case, the allele for the Brown eyes is dominant to the allele for the green eyes which is dominant to the allele for the blue eyes.
Your dad's genotype must be Blue/Blue and your moms must be Brown/green.
You have green eyes so your genotype is green/Blue
The chance for you to have green eyes wasn't 0% but 50%
Your mom and dad probably carry a ressesive gene for green eyes, or a mutation occurred
I think that's called Incomplete dominance or Co-dominance.
my family is asian that's about it
Well it depends, if you were or a women and you have Asian colorings and you marry a man with blonde hair and blue eyes, your baby will have a 75 percent chance of having brown eye's, one present chance of having green eyes, and 34 percent chance of having brown eyes.
@@gracemonckton3699 not really some aisan-Caucasian children do look more Caucasian than Asian.
Strong genes
It's not that simple, my dad has blue eyes and my mom has brown eyes, but my sister has green eyes. If Mom and Dad are brown-haired, their children may be blond, and this is not uncommon.
My eyes are green, fathers brown, and mothers blue
Mr Adi, me too
I have video with dad so you can see it, but i need to record one with mom XD
Ahh your adopted 😱
Mr Adi same
Nope I have got SAME NOSE AS MY MUM and SAME EYES SHAPE AS MY DAD and my aunt has the same eye "thing". It is 0.3% :D
My eyes change color
IM SPECIAL
Mystery UA-camr OMG SAME!I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!!!
NOAHSWIFE2007 😊
Mystery UA-camr they don't change......
Me too, they change from deep green to hazel green eyes
Sameeeee 🎉
I'm black I guess this doesn't apply to me
Martha Belton If your get married to someone outside of your race, I think it might apply. Hey, it is just my opinion I might be wrong.
Its because black hair and brown hair is dominant. If neither partner has the blonde gene in them then there is a 0% chance.
i still can happen but it's very rare for the kid to look white (with blue green eyes e.t.c) when one of the parents is black, the black gene is still very dominant though.
Martha Belton not true, I am black and my mom has brown eyes and my dad has grey eyes and I came out with blue/grey eyes and even I don't know anyone in my family that has that color combination!?🤔
Martha Belton it can apply
I knew a girl in grade school who had blond hair. One of her brothers had red hair, the other had brown. Their mother's hair was black, the father was graying.
I knew a girl in grade school who had red hair. Her sister had black hair, and their brother had blond hair. Their last name was Portuguese.
My mom has blue eyes and my dad has brown eyes, one of my brothers have brown eyes then my other brother and I have green eyes, but yet this video says there is 0% chance for that, wth
Potato People it's their Grandparents or Ansectors eyes that are Green
Yeah, he don't know what he is talking about
yes but if you watched the whole video, they explained that genes can skip generations. smh.
meaning you and your brother might have gotten your green eyes from your grandparents, great grandparents or even your ancestors.
Potato People me too, my sister has green eyes and my parents eyes coloured are just likes yours parents eye coloured
Who noticed it showed 24% while he said 25%
Crazy and Lazy me
Crazy and Lazy I was about to say that 😂 that's why I went down the comments lol
Crazy and Lazy. just now when he said it lol me
Crazy and Lazy Probably because the percentage of brown eyes was below 1% and the one for blue was 24...something. He just rounded it up.
Crazy and Lazy IKR I WAS LIKE VAT??
Family's eyes brown brown brown brown hair brown brown brown brown me blonde hair green eyes wtf happened
Fjjfkf Hdhhdcjsjdfn Did you ever ask ur mom if ur dad was really ur dad
Fjjfkf Hdhhdcjsjdfn you got the lucky gene card :)
What if you're adopted
Same!
sorry this make me laugh a bit. well hope you find out the mystery of your green eyes and blonde hair
My parents
: brown hair, blonde hair, blue eyes, brown eyes,
Me
: very light brown hair, green eyes
what if you have blueish greenie eyes. Then what?
m8 nufin. Its like green or blue, but you won't get any other results -_-
Chana Schwartz then you look cool
Chana Schwartz I have those two no one really knows what to call them and to hell with trying to find a matching eyeshadow
Chana Schwartz same i also have them but then with a little yellow in it😂
than your just like me
1:47 he said 25
Tony LaMaestra yeah
Tony LaMaestra I noticed that too
Tony LaMaestra oh yeah lol
Tony LaMaestra yes he did 🤤
You are a mathematical magician or are you just not blind?
50% Green Eyes
75% Blue Eyes
100% Brown Eyes
*_Hmmm.. which eyes I'll get?_*
Green duh
3 eyes, 1 eye is guaranteed to be brown, another is a 50% chance of green, if not, brown, and one has 75% chance of blue, if not, brown
Eqhuinox • B
Eqhuinox • Bron
They would obviously be purple 😂😂🤣
I think the reason for blue plus blue is because blue is a VERY recessive eye color, brown isn’t recessive, so a very recessive eye color can cancel it out entirely, Green is definitely recessive, but not as recessive as Blue, the 1% could also be from a pigmentation error. I was probably guaranteed to have Blue eyes because my parents and my grand parents all have Blue eyes.
My both parents have blue eyes and i have green eyes
OMG IM RARE!!!
same....
Lord Pumpkin SAME DUDE !!!??!?
Lord Pumpkin no you are just adopted
Αγγελος Γκορτσος if you are making a joke, it isn't funny.
Wolfcake who?
I solemnly came here to see what me and my bias' baby would look like
Dont we all K-Pop-obsessed people do
enchilatae it's okay tbh so did I
enchilatae 😂😂😂😂😂😂
haha but v (my bias) is too old for me :,)
This whole thing with the eyes is wrong. One of my parents have blue eyes, and the other brown. I have very dark green eyes. ☺
simple your Mom cheated on your dad
Genes can skip generations, y'all seem to be ignoring this part.
ted myrick XDDDDD
One of your parents would be a "genetic carrier" of the Green-eyed gene. This means that one of their ancestors either had green eyes, or was a carrier of the genetic themselves. It is more rare for this to occur especially since one of your parents has brown eyes, which is a 'dominant genetic' meaning it is most likely going to be the outcome.
Sometimes, green eyes can be mixed with hazel (sort of mix between brown and green). That's what I have, and my parents are blue and brown.
My mom and my sister dad had brown eyes and my sister has blue eye 😂🤦♀️ I’m jelly
im asian so black hair brown eyes all the way
yet you are referred to as people of color, one color... blue green red blonde < brown brown brown brown
amazing
China
Skyla Helbig me too XD
I have heterochromia. My right eye is blue and my left eye is brown. There is a personal video on the main part of my channel about my eyes specifically if interested.

Those baby eyes look pretty cute😊😊
You missed most eye colors
squitten mega mushroom's kitten Generally there's only those three, any other color would come from one of those colors.
Dezirae Annamalia yellow and red are made from those colors? Wow i guess i dont know my colors very well
squitten mega mushroom's kitten Yeah but those aren't actually eye colors. If they were red would be a version of auburn which is a version of brown. Then the yellow would come from green or maybe auburn.
Dezirae Annamalia ive met lots of people with yellow eyes including myself
squitten mega mushroom's kitten Are they actually yellow or yellow looking?
Mom: blue eyes
Dad: brown eyes
Me: hazel green eyes
HOW??
Same
Same sort of!
Mom:brown
Dad:blue
Me:bright green
Its not your dad
That's exactly the same as my sister
shay mentzel does your dad have light blue color or darker blue?
All of my family have brown eyes... My cousin, my grandparents. All!
Same
Kiwawa79 Fun2draw_fan same:(
Woah, 0% chance? Well my mom has blue eyes and my dad has brown, how do I have green eyes?
SAME!
Both my parents have blue eyes. My mom has brown hair, my dad has red hair. I have red hair and blue eyes. My brother has blondish redish hair with blue eyes.
Wow. That means my genes are strong.
Amazing.
Lies again? Triplets Twins
No triplets or twins. Just 4 single births.
How both of my parents have blue eyes but i have brown eyes
All I ever wanted was blue eyes.
My friend in my school she's new and has blue eyes
My eyes are blueish grey
I have ocean blue eyes sometimes grayish bluish, sometimes green and when my eyes water they become an emerald greenish colour
Well In brighter areas so if I stand in the sun my eyes are mainly blue but if it’s darker so on a cloudy morning my eyes are storm grey
Your kid might have blue eyes
At 1:47 it said 24% on the screen. But he said 25% dun dun DUUUUUNNNN! I’m stupid😂😂😂😅
Anonymous Arts 😂😂😂
Another of that comment 🙄
OML I WAS LIKE “Woah they lied it says 24% but they said 25% that would make 101% I’m so weird”
Anonymous Arts I thought I was the only one that heard that
Anonymous Arts
Good to know i'm not the only one who noticed that
My dad has light blue.
My mom has light blue
My brother has light blue.
I have light blue
BLUE WINS!
😂
I have greys..
Same my parents, me, and my two sister all have blue eyes but they all have black hair and I’m a ginger😂
Blue eyes are kinda dominant even among other eye colours
Every genetic video always forgets hazel eyes..
