Just a wild guess but after having a close look at my ex partners eyes, they were blue with almost unnoticably tiny specks of brown. My guess is the eyes tried to be both brown and blue resulting in green. For those who have neither traits of mum or dad, you need to look further down your family tree as you could have inherited the colour hair or eyes from grandparents. Neither my parents have red hair but my great grandfather did.
I got my grandmas brown eyes instead of blue eyes like my mom, dad, and siblings.

The video is wrong. Each trait is expressed by two alleles. In that case, the allele for the Brown eyes is dominant to the allele for the green eyes which is dominant to the allele for the blue eyes.
Your dad's genotype must be Blue/Blue and your moms must be Brown/green.

The chance for you to have green eyes wasn't 0% but 50%
Your mom and dad probably carry a ressesive gene for green eyes, or a mutation occurred

Just a wild guess but after having a close look at my ex partners eyes, they were blue with almost unnoticably tiny specks of brown. My guess is the eyes tried to be both brown and blue resulting in green. However, eyes like this means it can be much harder to have green eyed children despite having the best chances of having a green eyed partner

Well it depends, if you were or a women and you have Asian colorings and you marry a man with blonde hair and blue eyes, your baby will have a 75 percent chance of having brown eye's, one present chance of having green eyes, and 34 percent chance of having brown eyes. Your race truly doesn't effect what your baby will look like, what matters is the fact of your colorings, and that darker colorings are stronger than lighter colorings, if you married a white person it would be more likely your baby would look like you, with a lighter skin tone. If you married an African American your baby would probably look more like your spouse. But if you married an Asian. Your baby's colorings will look similar to both of you.

I can explain this -- Your mother probably had lighter hair when she was younger, as hair tends to darken when we grow older. And have you considered your grandparents? maybe they have lighter hair too. When you grow up more, your hair will probably get darker

For the people that have one parent with blue eyes and one parent with Brown eyes and they have green eyes:
Each trait is expressed by two alleles. If the alleles are the same you are homozygous for that trait and if the alleles are different you are heterozygous for that trait.
For the eye colour the alleles are three: the allele for the Brown colour, the allele for the green colour and the allele for the blue colour. There are alleles that are dominant and alleles that are recessive.
So the allele for the Brown colour is dominant to the allele for the green colour which is dominant to the allele for the blue colour.

Your parent who has blue eyes has definitely this genotype: Blue/Blue that's the only way that they could have blue eyes
Your other parent who has Brown eyes must definitely be a carrier of the recessive allele for the green eyes. So, their genotype is Green/Brown.
