Watching aviation videos and recognizing how tight the decision point is to abort landing and go around is something I would imagine opens up a bit with experience. Maybe not. On the same video, what is that piece of glass directly in front of the pilots face? Is it a HUD?

Honestly I think it's crazy they don't prohibit people from getting that close to the fence, they should at least stand on the sand so there is nothing dangerous behind them.
