If you do not care about 4k, or always hitting 1440p 144hz (since it only just hits high refresh 1440p now), these cards should last a pretty good number of years. Since I already hit 144fps, I love turning on FSR or RSR when possible at the high quality preset as it looks darn close to the original image, but helps the card run a little cooler. In we happy few for example I went from 600w down to 330w just turning on RSR, because the last 10-15% utilization is where most of a GPUs power consumption comes from.
@@pasha715 the driver issues with the 5000 series were really big tho, they kinda killed a lot of the momentum AMD had gained after the 480 and 580 and their good press and brought back the old woes.

I would really love if you tested some lower end GPUs and showed what they're still capable of (with FSR or without). The R9 270(X) is still amazing and just received a silent driver update despite AMD claiming they had abandoned those cards. It would be fairly cheap to produce content (those cards are $40 or less) and give an opportunity to show low end builds to kids who are just getting into it (if that's something you are at all interested in). I personally love the HP ProDesk 280 G1 MT for ease of use PSU swap (no adapter), compatibiliy with the E3 1231 v3 and space for throwing in a (cheap) GPU like the above. Also showing people what a GTX 970 can still do or how ReBar (with custom drivers) on an RX 580 8GB (or even the old R9 390, R9 Fury, even R9 270) will work in different games.
for 250 pounds yes, it is a good price. although I won't get excited over AMD cards being priced fairly, because they aren't inflated, I'd get excited if I see a 3060 at under 300 pounds... which won't happen.
I did choose the XFX RX 6600 Core Gaming for 279 € including taxes and including the game bundle too. It replaces a RX580 in my kids pc and i'm very happy with the performance. From my point of view it's a bargain since i wanted to play Forespoken anyway. Sad that Forespoken is delayed.
Main thing I'd like to see is a breakdown of this vs. the 6600. I feel like most people targeting 1080p wonder if the gains are worth dropping the extra $50 bucks here.
In 1080p it isn't actually, but at 1440p it matters, in some games in 1440p I'm just short of some fps to make the .1% 60Fps or more, if you have a 144Hz or 240hz this also aplies
Another month later and you could get the 6700 XT for as low as 330 USD (Asrock Challenger D model). I also saw various other models for very good prices. Personally, the Sapphire Pulse version I saw for 380 USD was the most attractive, because the Pulse comes with two bioses, and offers a big step up in quality over most other cards. Well worth an additional $40 imo.
Bought the 6700xt and got the 3 free games (only Sniper 5 is released) Played Sniper 5 for little while it was enjoyable. What I love most about my card cooler is the fans doesn't spin unless I'm playing a game.
Daniel, it's amazing how you turned this into GPU plastic peeling review...LOL I just bought the same model but it was a 6700 XT for $349.00 after rebate with two free games today. It goes into my backup PC.
Man I really hope you can continue with these videos once you go back to teaching, very few channels offer these kind of detailed benchmarks and comparisons
I just bought the RX 6600 a couple weeks ago for $294 It replaced a GTX 1660. The RTX 3050 was not even in consideration with the lackluster performance to price.
I sold my 6600xt for $300 and bought a 3060 ti for $400. DLSS, GeForce experience, and the slight performance increase was well worth the extra $100. I upgraded from a 1080p to a 1440p panel, which pushed me to get the Nvidia card.I look forward to your great comparisons.
got this card brand new recently for $250. paired it with a ryzen 5 3600 on a b550m board. I am quite impressed with the performance for the price, especially considering it's basically equivalent to a 3060 8 GB for rasterization
6000 series cards are nuts. Undervolting is pretty suitable on that architecture and maybe more beneficial than OC ✌️ If you don't give 2 hecks about Ray tracing and nvenc, go for AMD Interesting to see RTX Broadcast alternatives for Team Red in the future, optimized gpu streaming 🤔
The amd game bundle is so much better than nvidia. But idk if that's a reason to choose gpu. But up to 3 brand new 60$ games vs a meh new game and an old game with all its dlc(advertised as 3 seperate games.)
Hey Daniel, it would be really interesting if you compare this to a 6700xt, as people often debate whether it's worth spending more, also would it be possible for you to test the Radeon 6700 , it certainly is a very interesting card and might even be the value sweet spot for 1440p just like the 5700xt was
Please do not make the mistake to assume that GPU products are priced similarly everywhere. Where I live the 6600 XT is priced around the RTX 3060. So for me a comparison vs the 3060 would be a lot more beneficial.
hey daniel! more power to your channel! was wondering if you can give us your ambient temps so we can like figure out if the cooler works on our region
Beefy cooler for one of the cheapest cards. Awesome video. I am waiting until I can get an 80 class card for similar price. you can already get last gen 80 class for that price.
The channel won't end during the school year. Probably just fewer (or less time consuming to produce) videos. News videos, gpu and build recommendations, etc don't take too much time to produce. It's the massive head to head comparisons that will probably have to slow down.
I'd like to see it against a 5700XT. I have a 5700 non-XT in one of my PC's and it's about 10FPS ahead of that at 1080p Ultra, though I had to fiddle with it a bit physically when I got it bc it is an XFX THICC 2, which meant the cooling was a mess. Luckily it was just some extra thermal paste and screw tightening so the thermal pads were actually touching something and I didn't have to replace them or ditch the backplate entirely. Idk why they bothered with the XT cooler if they weren't going to make sure everything fit correctly. Oversized cooler on an under powered die and junction still gets up to 100c under load with the rest of it between 85 and 95...not cool (literally and figuratively).
I can't decide between AsRock challenger 6600 and Sapphire Pulse 6600. AsRock is around 20-25 euros cheaper,it has 2 heatpipes and little lower temps,3 year warranty,Sapphire has 1 heatpipe and 2 year warranty.
RX 6600 comparison. There are those who want to compare all options in one price bracket. But I'd prefer to see if it's worth the extra price to move up a price segment to something like the 6600.
I'm struggling to find reviews of ASRock cards. Can you share your experience regarding the noise level of this card? I want to buy this one, but I'm concerned about noise. I'm used to having completely silent GPUs
there is a MSI one for 315 is this Asrock card that much better than the cheap MSI card? BTW i been useing a 5500 XT Asrock 1 fan card for 2 years and i OC it at 140 watts and give it a good fan curb and it dose fine with Temps
Waiting to see these prices up here in Canada. Been dropping but with a lag. I can get the Asrock Phanton for 459.99 Can after the rebate. I do a 1.3x for the Can$ so its still about $50Can higher. If it gets to $400 , I`ll bite as it pretty much maxes out my 10100 i3 and would be a good match for an i5 or i7 and , from what I understand , would be perfect for a 1440 upgrade. No 6700 up north of the border as far as I can see. We will see what Aug brings. Any anticipation for deals for Black Friday or do we think stock will be lower by then??
Actually here in the UK the PowerColour 10GB RX 6700 (non XT) is only £310 inc 20% VAT (National tax) at ebuyer, with the exchange rate at £1.00 to $1.20 the £ is equal to $ for direct comparison pricing in this example. The RX 6600 XT is around £80 more. Strangely here in UK and Europe the RX 6700 is cheaper than RX 6600 XT whilst being equal or slight faster than the RX 6600 XT in most games! Newegg USA show the Sapphire RX 6700 10GB at $370, so not such a great deal at $60 more! The advantages of the RX 6700 over the RX 6600 XT = 10GB vs 8GB vram, 160 bit vs 128 bit, pcie 4.0 x16 over pcie 4.0 x8 etc etc, TechPowerUp rate it about 5% "better" than the RX 6600 XT
Once you move up to or just above the $350 GPU price tier, you'll seriously want to consider some of the lower priced RX 6700XT card options, which aren't really that much more in price but, then you're also getting up to the performance level of an RTX 3070 or at least an RTX 3060ti which is why the 6700XT at $425- $450 makes good sense for spending the extra cash ;)
Happy that you got the asrock version of rx6600xt for review. I’m planning to buy this gpu for my first pc build and not sure if the asrock version is good or not. Can’t wait for the future vids about this card. cheers~
Maybe an RTX 2070 would make for a good comparison, not sure if you have any of those around for some benchmarks. But unlike the 2060, you can't buy a 2070 new anymore, so that would be a used vs. new comparison.
Yo, can you do a comparison with this vs the RX 6600 non XT? I wanna see if it's worth the price jump or if I should just save my money and go with the non XT instead.
I'm getting a deal: Asus Tuf 6800XT OC for about 60k INR. That's like almost 50$ below the original MSRP of Radeon 6800XT refrence model. I'm just confused whether it will get lower in future or not like in a couple of months.
@Daniel Owen i still own an Rx 570 4Gb. Would you recommend the 6600, 3060 or 6600xt ? i like good visuals and fps. Currently have an 27 inch 165hz 1080p monitor. Other system specs is i74790k 32Gb ddr ram
3050 first since they're practically the same price now. Let's see how close the 6600XT comes to doubling the 3050's rasterization performance, and perhaps even matching its ray-tracing despite the architectural advantage Nvidia has this generation.
Argh, still thinking should I upgrade my GTX 1660 Super. But looking for more video encoding on top of gaming. Wondering should I wait for RX 7000 series as my GTX is going fine.

I upgraded from an R9 Fury to the MSI Dual RX6600xt, it is still a beast of a card that now has a home in my brothers PC.
6700 non xt is often found cheaper than 6600xt and of course it is faster than 6600xt and has 2gb more vram.
I just bought a RX6600 for £250! Thought it was an amazing price and can't wait to get it tomorrow 🙂
for 250 pounds yes, it is a good price.
although I won't get excited over AMD cards being priced fairly, because they aren't inflated, I'd get excited if I see a 3060 at under 300 pounds... which won't happen.
I bought the Rx 6700 (non xt) for 372€ and it is a lot better. Here in su the 6600xt costs more than 400€
I did choose the XFX RX 6600 Core Gaming for 279 € including taxes and including the game bundle too. It replaces a RX580 in my kids pc and i'm very happy with the performance. From my point of view it's a bargain since i wanted to play Forespoken anyway. Sad that Forespoken is delayed.
There is also Asrock RX 6700 XT Challenger D, which from time to time drops to 366$ on amazon...
I have the challenger pro 3 fan 6700xt and its great. Im sure the dual fan would be fine as well but maybe a bit hotter.
I have this same card and it works fantastically!
Super happy with this GPU as I installed it last week.
Dan you're almost at 50k subs!! Insane!!
mad respect for the work brother!
Nice video, never understood why the rx 6600 xt got so much hate it’s not a perfect 1080p card, but 60 frames on high for cyberpunk is pretty good.
Because of high price at launch
Bought the 6700xt and got the 3 free games (only Sniper 5 is released) Played Sniper 5 for little while it was enjoyable. What I love most about my card cooler is the fans doesn't spin unless I'm playing a game.
You are such a synaptic tech UA-camr that’s why your channel blow up, like to listen to you brow keep on going 💪🏽
I'd definitely like to see comparison to 6600 non-XT as they are not too dissimilar in price ATM. Happy back to school!
Coolest math teacher! Great content lately!!
I got a really good deal (at the time) in Feb on an HP prebuilt with an rx6600xt. I love it. It really is great for such low power draw in my opinion.
I just bought the RX 6600 a couple weeks ago for $294 It replaced a GTX 1660. The RTX 3050 was not even in consideration with the lackluster performance to price.
Congrats on the channel growth. Smaller/mid-size channels make much more authentic and entertaining content ngl
I find amd radeon software better than geforce experience.
You have way more options and you cab even overclock your amd gpu without using afterburner
3060 too slow after 6600xt ! You can see that in games.
@@rubenn7212 The guy i sold it to said he liked the amd software better too. I guess i'm just used to Nvidia.
@@xjax8519 Yes the 3060 is slower. The 3060 ti is faster.
RX 6700 was like 359 euro in the netherlands GREAT DEAL!
got this card brand new recently for $250. paired it with a ryzen 5 3600 on a b550m board. I am quite impressed with the performance for the price, especially considering it's basically equivalent to a 3060 8 GB for rasterization
6000 series cards are nuts. Undervolting is pretty suitable on that architecture and maybe more beneficial than OC ✌️
If you don't give 2 hecks about Ray tracing and nvenc, go for AMD
Interesting to see RTX Broadcast alternatives for Team Red in the future, optimized gpu streaming 🤔
The amd game bundle is so much better than nvidia. But idk if that's a reason to choose gpu. But up to 3 brand new 60$ games vs a meh new game and an old game with all its dlc(advertised as 3 seperate games.)
Hey Daniel, it would be really interesting if you compare this to a 6700xt, as people often debate whether it's worth spending more, also would it be possible for you to test the Radeon 6700 , it certainly is a very interesting card and might even be the value sweet spot for 1440p just like the 5700xt was
Keep up the great content !
Sucks that school starts soon lol
Please do not make the mistake to assume that GPU products are priced similarly everywhere. Where I live the 6600 XT is priced around the RTX 3060. So for me a comparison vs the 3060 would be a lot more beneficial.
hey daniel! more power to your channel! was wondering if you can give us your ambient temps so we can like figure out if the cooler works on our region
The Nvidia Founders Editions 3060 ti and 3070 are IN STOCK at Best Buy right now for MSRP!!!
I picked up this exact GPU last week second hand for $350. No regrets.
Beefy cooler for one of the cheapest cards. Awesome video. I am waiting until I can get an 80 class card for similar price. you can already get last gen 80 class for that price.
in europe you can get the 6700 non xt for the same price or cheaper than the 6600 xt. its a better value.
got mine for 369€
in taiwan 6700xt are at 330$, so i bought one
Hey, Daniel. Gonna miss you, man. Hopefully you'll continue doing what you're doing with your channel next summer 😆
The channel won't end during the school year. Probably just fewer (or less time consuming to produce) videos. News videos, gpu and build recommendations, etc don't take too much time to produce. It's the massive head to head comparisons that will probably have to slow down.
@@danielowentech awesome, man. I love your content. You can go high up in what you're doing. Keep it coming and thank you :)
its fair to compare it to the RTX 3050 duo to the similarity in pricing. we would like to see that comparison please
I just bought the 6700 xt version of this last week and received it yesterday lol
I bought 6700 xt as well
4:50 If we're including consoles, then nvidia gets 100 million+ added to their tally due to the tegra chip in the nintendo switch
I can't decide between AsRock challenger 6600 and Sapphire Pulse 6600. AsRock is around 20-25 euros cheaper,it has 2 heatpipes and little lower temps,3 year warranty,Sapphire has 1 heatpipe and 2 year warranty.
U look like math teacher. Lol not a bad thing. Love the content man keep it up. The kids education can wait. I need mine. LoL
RX 6600 comparison. There are those who want to compare all options in one price bracket. But I'd prefer to see if it's worth the extra price to move up a price segment to something like the 6600.
*The best deal atm, is really the 'Power Color' RX 6700 !!!*
Have a good day Daniel!
I'm struggling to find reviews of ASRock cards. Can you share your experience regarding the noise level of this card? I want to buy this one, but I'm concerned about noise. I'm used to having completely silent GPUs
i want to see this channel hit 100K.
Finally prices came down to more reasonable levels... that card is a good deal.
there is a MSI one for 315 is this Asrock card that much better than the cheap MSI card? BTW i been useing a 5500 XT Asrock 1 fan card for 2 years and i OC it at 140 watts and give it a good fan curb and it dose fine with Temps
Definitely the RTX 3050 & RX 6600 for the price to performance please. After that then do the RTX 3060 to see if the price premium is worth it.
I like your mindset.
Just got the same model of the 7600 for $250 so im pretty hype
I really like how you mentioned you're a math teacher, it would be really interesting if your students watch your videos too somehow lol
Not sure if i'm allowed to post links but MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT 8 GB MECH 2X OC is $300 atm on Newegg US.
just got the non xt version of this wiating on it now base price was $219 plus got 2 game keys plus shipping like $235 on newegg
I'm curious to know what you teach in math and what generation you teach for?
I would have a hard time buying a 6600xt for $330 when 3060ti's are starting to show up at under $400, Best Buy, Office Depot, etc.
I got the Challenger Pro version for $305, very worth it.
Undervolt the crap out of it!
ASROCK stiffed me on a mail-in rebate for a mobo once... still a decent deal for 329 tho
6600 or xt every day of the week.
A 6600xt is what you need to really let that 165hz monitor stretch it's legs.
Might as well wait
I am planning to buy the ASRock challenger 6700xt? Is this a good card? Or should I go for asus tuf gaming 6700xt for 90 dollars more?
I was tempted to buy this a few days ago but the card was too long for my PC. Went with a new XFX 6650XT for $359 instead.
6650xt are only 10% behind of rtx 3060ti
@@Mr11ESSE111 I've noticed that, it was also cheaper than the 6600xt at the time I purchased it.
@@thymelord8353 now some says that rx 6700 are around 6600xt price and that is 10gb vram card and basically as 3060ti
Ur the most genuine PC guy out there
I don't know where you got these prices. Checking on Amazon nothing close to the price for a 6600 XT?
