Holy batman! Truly amazing what can be done with 1000lumens. These LEP's seem to focus and use every bit of light. No waste. I likey the zoom function, the light is projected really clear, even & precise. Hats off to you for buying this monster. I agree that case is Chincy. I reckon 5 X 21700 would have been a good battery choice netting roughly the same mAh instead of 8 X 18650 but I suppose Acebeam know what there doing and have gone down that road. Im guessing it's PD charging with the typeC to typeC cable. PD charging is awesome. Good review.

Picked up a MS18 for my first light and I love it, just ordered a Maxtoch Owleyes W Pro (no video?) but its 3 week backorder. I was thinking of getting a LA60, but recently found a W50 and am thinking of getting it instead. Do you think its worth it after 1+ year? Do you maybe see a new, zoomie LEP, that would outdo the W50 coming soon, or would you think its still gonna be a few more years? I saw your 4x w30 video, even though I have yet to see any LEP ever with my own eyes in person, after watching many videos I agree 2k+ lumens would be a nice spot, and the W50's 1k lumens kind' of worries me. Is 1k so low that the next zoomie LEP that releases could likely be 2k, possibly 4k lumens? Keep up the great content!

I bought two W30's (I ruined my first one by seeing what would happen when I shone my 7 watt Sanwu blue laser at the phosphor - sadly burnt it to toast!). I'm very happy with my working W30 which was modified by Skylumen in the States and now puts out 2.2 Mcd. Question: do you think the W50 is worth all that money vs the W30? Do you think there is a better thrower for than the W50 for the money? BTW, I live in NSW too!

In saying that, the w50 is able to go further, is brighter and has a larger hot spot. Also it has 3 modes and can change from spot to spread. @@srdlights7238 Thanks Michael, I have a very specific purpose for my W30: I use it to move the dozen or so brush turkeys that roost above my outside stairs at night, otherwise there's about 500 ml of turkey diarrhea on my stairs every the morning. So a very small hot spot is ideal and I don't need spread. Still have W50 envy though! The fan seems quiet, thanks for the demo, certainly a lot less noisy than the fan in my Imalent MS18. Good to have an Aussie reviewer, keep up the good work, I'm subscribing!

Awesome light but and a big but soooo much coin for something that’s rooted if you drop it once I’ll stick to my K75 as it throws further then the naked eye can see and only a couple of green backs to replace.
I think the k75gt is a Fantastic light, only thing that would make it better would be if it was rechargeable. But a lot of people like individual batteries. But yeah, Fantastic light!

I personally got it to review it. And also, im a Collector. What the light is used for is up to the individual. It doesn't have huge lumens but in saying that, it has range. So search and rescue, border patrol etc. Also sniper suppression would be another use. Possibly Signalling? People are in crazy situations every day that we couldn't fathom.
I saw a price that claims this w50 is 2200 USD? That made me giggle when I saw it mentioned on budget light forums. If you can spend 2200 on a light, budgets need not apply.

I'm not opposed to paying good money for good products, there is a thing I like to refer to as 'the law of diminishing returns'. D.R. inevitably comes into play when the dollar amounts are so high they don't make cents anymore for the item you want to purchase. ;)
The most powerful with the longest throw is the Microfire light storm sp 90. It has a throw distance of 9000 meters and cost about $5000.00 dollars us.
I've never seen a vid from Australia that wasn't really cool. No place is perfect but I'm thinking it's a really good life there. Plus that is a very radical light. Here in California there would be idiots shining that thing at aircraft.

Unfortunately the performance of that W50 is not worth the price. if it did 8mcd it would be more interesting. For $500 i bought a Maxtoch Owleyes W Pro. Its rated at 4mcd just like the W50 except that when i measured the throw it was actually 4.5mcd. I also have a TI FW1 lep that does 3.6mcd which its not supposed to do. I must of received an exceptional sample. So the W50 really is not that special anymore. Also all leps on the market have a class 4 laser inside. The W50 is rated for having a class 3b laser. That is a lie. Class 3B is lasers ranging from 5mw to 500mw and class 4 is anything over 500mw. I took apart one of my leps down to the laser diode and measured the raw output of the blue 445nm laser. it was a Thor 1 lep with 400lm. I measured 3000mw. that is well into the class 4 laser classification. if my thor 1 has 2800mw of output the W50 probably has more like 6000mw maybe 7000mw. Since all leps are clearly class 4 I just dont understand why acebeam wont sell it to the general public. not that anyone would by $3 grand for it. Its so over priced its not even funny. They are making hand over fist with this one if the military is buying them. My Maxtoch Owleyes W Pro does 1200 lumens and so it probably has dual 4000mw lasers inside since its a dual head so 8000mw of laser. probably more then the W50 and its only $500 with some discounts.

Laser excited phosphor lights r unreal but worthless at the same time, I have a love hate relationship with my imalent ms18 but now it is my Toto light for everything outdoors but looking into getting the imalent ms09 pop can 25k lumin flashlight next.

Laser excited phosphor lights r unreal but worthless at the same time, I have a love hate relationship with my imalent ms18 but now it is my Toto light for everything outdoors but looking into getting the imalent ms09 pop can 25k lumin flashlight next.
